Timothy Francis "Tim" Robbins (born October 16, 1958 in West Covina, California), is an American actor, screenwriter, director, producer, and musician. He was born in West Covina, California, and raised in New York City. He moved to Greenwich Village at a young age, began performing in theater at age 12, and joined the drama clubs at Stuyvesant High School. He studied at SUNY Plattsburgh for two years, and finished his college education at the UCLA Film School.
