Charles' Website/YouTube channel was created in December 2015 and as of 2020, it has 23.6 million subscribers, making Charles the most subscribed male beauty guru channel on the platform. He became the first male ambassador for ''CoverGirl'' and also opened the second Morphe Cosmetics store in Birmingham, UK.

Charles has been subject to a number of controversies during his time online. He has made comments regarding Africa and Ebola which he subsequently apologised for in 2017. He also made comments regarding his sexuality, stating he believed he was a 5.5 on the Kinsey scale. He stated that he had found women beautiful in the past as well as trans men therefore, he couldn't be classed as fully gay. This was met with criticism and Charles again apologised for his unintentional transphobic comments.

In 2019, Charles' long-time collaborator and friend, Creator/TatiWestbrook uploaded a video to her Website/YouTube channel entitled, ''Bye Sister...''. In the video, she accused Charles of acting predatory and manipulative towards other people's sexuality as well as being disloyal to her and her brand. Charles had recently been attending Coachella festival and in one of his Website/Instagram stories, he was seen promoting a brand of hair care vitamins that were in direct competition with Westbrook's own brand, hence her feelings of disloyalty. After this video was released, Charles lost over one million subscribers in a 24-hour time period. He ultimately went on to lose over three million of his then 16 millions subscriber count. Tati, on the other hand, gained over four million new subscribers in the immediate aftermath of the incident. Charles posted two response videos in the subsequent weeks. The longer of the two provided evidence that refuted Westbrook's claims and enabled Charles to regain support and subscribers once more. Westbrook later removed the original video and a year later posted a video that stated she had been manipulated by Creator/JeffreeStar and WebVideo/ShaneDawson into making the original ''Bye Sisters'' account against Charles. The two waves of controversy caused by each of Tati's videos were dubbed Dramageddon II and Karmageddon respectively by the beauty and commentary communities (the first "Dramageddon" referring to another incident involving Jeffree Star and several of his former collaborators). Charles has been very open about the effect of the incident on his mental health, revealing that the "cancellation" left him suicidal for several days.

In late 2020, Charles once again fell into controversy for his high number of collaborations and his attendance of large influencer parties during the Covid-19 pandemic. However, Charles has defended himself by citing his frequent use of rapid testing and the applicatiom of precautions from both himself and his collaborators.
