* CursedWithAwesome: Halloween Man, the eponymous hero of Drew Edwards' indie comic, is a pretty good example; though Solomon Hitch's "origin story" disfigured half his face and left him with a skeletal hand, he gains superhuman strength and agility, virtual immortality, and even vague psychic powers. In addition, his wealthy, attractive, and brilliant girlfriend Lucy and demigod best friend Ron (son of Dionysus) accept him without hesitation, even if many of the other, more "mainstream" heroes of Solar City do not. Subverted to an extent, as Halloween Man is still one of the undead and needs to gruesomely consume fresh organs from other monsters to maintain himself (rather than reverting to eating humans). It is also hinted that in at least some future time lines he flips to the dark side anyway, becoming a Jason Voorhees type slasher.

Lucy recently underwent a transformation into a mid-sized BBW at the hands of an rival (from "weird science university") Olympia Moreau. This has only made her a bigger (no pun intended) Action Girl, as Dr. Chaplin gained aggression, height and considerable muscle mass to go along with her new, amply curvy flab (see StoutStrength). It could be argued that she is an ActionGirlfriend or a more recently a GirlyBruiser.

After failing to reverse the gas's effect, Lucy Chaplin became a celebrity role model for overweight women and the models found success in full-figured clothes modeling. Despite being initially upset about the transformation, Lucy is now FatAndProud. Could be seen as a WeirdScience version of RealWomenHaveCurves or even a plus-sized variation of AmazonianBeauty. Serial Numbers Filed Off: Halloween Man has faced off against a few monsters taken more or less directly from horror films, though they are just different enough to not constitute unauthorized use. A werewolf turned vampire named Naschy, who is clearly a reference to Mexican actor Paul Naschy\'s \"Waldemar\" character from the long-running series of Mexican monster movies. Among the latest of the eponymous hero\'s short-lived opponents is a homicidal, ginger-haired child\'s doll, which is definitely NOT Chucky, since it also sports a cape and fangs.
