An OSA agent, Blazkowicz is the main protagonist of the saga. B.J. differs in appearance through various continuities (original 3D universe, Return to Castle Wolfenstein, Wolfenstein RPG and the timeline of Wolfenstein\The New Order\The Old Blood), but the majority of his traits ramain the same.

* AndIMustScream: According to the cutscenes in ''VideoGame/WolfensteinTheNewOrder'', he was pretty conscious while catatonic.

* DualWielding: In ''The Old Blood'', he puts his massive size and strength to good use by carrying two versions of most of his guns -- the only ones he doesn't dual-wield are his Kampfpistole[[note]]a pistol-sized one-shot RPG-launcher[[/note]], Bombenschusse[[note]]a sniper rifle[[/note]], knife (though he's shown using two of them at once in some Takedown animations), and the [=MG1946=][[note]]a heavy machinegun normally fixed into place or used by [[SuperSoldier Supersoldatens]][[/note]]. Also technically his pipe, which alternates between unscrewed format (where he uses it like a club/dagger combination) and screwed format (where he uses it as a shortstaff).

* HeroicMime: In ''Wolf-3D'', ''Spear of Destiny'' and most egregiously in ''Return to Castle Wolfenstein''. He is SuddenlyVoiced for further games in the series.

* IcyBlueEyes: Especially used to highlight his ThousandYardStare in ''New Order''.

* JustAStupidAccent: [[JustifiedTrope Excused]] with the fact that he knows German fluently, but can't work out accents. [[AvertedTrope Averted]] in ''The New Order''. ''The Old Blood'' demonstrates that his use of verbal German is absolutely terrible and an NPC even berates him for it.

* ArtisticStimulation: By New Colossus he's began to dabble in what is probably Ecstasy or LSD. Guess you don't become friends with [[spoiler:Jimmy Hendrix:]] without being a wee bit incited to try some.

* KilledOffScreen: He escapes the incinerator room with B.J. and [[spoiler: Fergus or Wyatt]]. A dialog in a latter part of the game reveals he joined the Kreisau Circle and died in mission at an unspecified moment between 1946 and 1960.

* EmbarrassingTattoo: Looks on his Nazi tattoos as these. He's holding on to them [[MarkOfShame as a reminder of what he's done]] until they can overthrow the Nazi regime, at which point he'll have them removed.

* BerserkButton: Do ''not'' insinuate that his government was little better than the Nazis in ''The New Order''.
* BigGuy: Bordering on HeroicBuild in ''The Old Blood''. The unlockable model for Blazkowicz in Nazi uniform notes that they had to get his uniform custom made by a tailor before they could send him off as an infiltrator.

* AxCrazy: Downplayed but present, especially in ''The New Order.'' B.J an oddly stoic version of this-he's quite intelligent on the whole, but he is rather... temperamental to the point of stupidity in some of what he does, like interrogating someone with a chainsaw or deciding to use his knife on Deathshead because shooting would be too good a death for him. [[spoiler: True to form, Deathshead takes advantage of the latter one to disastrous effect.]]
