* BadBoss: Could not care less about the safety of his minions and will badmouth and assault them when they fail to meet his expectations.

* TheLoad: Indirectly responsible the entire plot of the 2nd game. During the prologue, Fluffy launches an attack on the prison where Boss Cass is interred. Though Ty seems to be gaining the upper hand during their mech battle, she then shoots a laser at the nearby helicopter Ranger Ken's riding sending it spiraling out of control. Ty being forced to save Ranger Ken's skin distracts Ty long enough for Fluffy to bust Boss Cass out of jail. Not much later, Boss Cass would form his own country to establish diplomatic immunity, granting him the freedom to scheme for the rest of the game.

TY walks by all of them and briefly stops to say "Boo!" at them for a quick chuckle at their muffled screams. * SmallStepsHero: Enforced like many platformer mascots. He's urged to help out his friends and various civilians while hunting for Thunderbird Eggs and they always seem to have one on hand as a reward for his assistance even though it'd probably be easier to tell them he needs them to save the world and stop Boss Cass.

* TheAce: Due to being Bush Rescue's leader and best fighter, [[spoiler:his mere absence causes the whole team to disband during the Quinkan invasion in TY 3.]]
* BadassNormal: TY dispenses his enemies using only his twin boomerangs and powerful bite. TakesALevelInBadass when equipped with the Bunyip Gauntlet in TY 3.
* TheChosenOne: For TY 1, he was tasked to find the five mystic talismans in order to save his family from the Dreamtime. In TY 3, he's the one who is worthy to wield the Bunyip Gauntlet when fighting against the Quinkan.
* TheDeterminator: Whether it's saving the world from an aspiring dictator or delivering someone's terrible cooking, TY will take care of it.
* InSeriesNickname: TY is just his nickname. As of the Steam release trailer for TY 2, his real name is Tyrone.

* WalkingShirtlessScene: Coupled with his WalkingSwimsuitScene, Ty's standard attire omits any form of a shirt. Averted with some skins in the PC Versions of Ty 2 and 3 that give him a shirt.

* {{Adorkable}}: The hero of Southern Rivers is a socially awkward 22-year-old with a penchant for puns and terrible jokes. Need we say more.
