** The whole reason why he can't change out of his panda form anymore is because he didn't consider he'd be unable to take off his bracelet once he become a big, chubby panda in the first place. [[SubvertedTrope Not that he minds]], since being a panda is perfect for his purposes.

A Transient who came from the world of Tir na Nog who is also an Alder tree spirit. He is a graduate student researcher at a medical school who tends to speak of himself as an old man, as well as the resident assistant of the dorm for Therian Transients in Taito Ward and lead scientist at the research lab. His Role and Rule allow him to transfer any injury or damage from one being to another, giving him control over who lives or perishes. However, he considers the price for using this power to be too high, and thus avoids doing anything proactively except in the direst of circumstances. Because of this, other researchers have labeled him a sloth, and those younger than him usually despise him for pushing vast amounts of work onto them on account of their age. Leib can often be seen complaining about how difficult it can be to keep up with all the new slang.

He attends an academy in Ueno popular among Therian transients, particularly the furry type. He's a bit of a crybaby, but his usual cheerful and very friendly nature makes him very likeable. Before he was summoned, he was kept as a guard dog by the fairy Gruagach, who was Cu Sith's Summoner, but also his father, brother, and irreplaceable family. However, his former master is now nowhere to be found.

A wolf Transient who is never trusting, yet very gullible. He paints himself into a corner and then says, "See? Now you'll betray me, right?" In other words, he has a subconscious desire to be tied down and is generally a pain to deal with. He claims that he can withstand any sort of pain, and true to his words, is actually extremely resilient. He has long lost siblings: a little brother who has no concept of personal space, and a little sister who falls in love easily but goes crazy... literally. He's extremely easy to befriend if you show him sincerity.

Despite his appearance, Alp is ''not'' a Panda Transient. Instead, he is a dream demon from the world of Yggdrasil. He tries to style himself as "cute", hence his current appearance. He is in possession of two Sacred Artifacts; his hat, which allows him to swap dreams and reality, and the bracelet on his wrist, which was what transformed him into his current body. His hand and wrist are now too large to remove it, though he doesn't mind. His goal is to become a star, and as a result is seen as a bit of an AttentionWhore. Whether he's counted as a Beast or a Tamer isn't yet clear, though given he needed Leib to research his Artifact to figure out significant aspects of it, he likely is a Beast.

[[folder:Ueno Beast Tamers[[note]]Leib, Cu Sith, Jambavan, Fenrir, Alp [[/note]]]]
A guild whose purpose is to research the app. Their guild name comes from the fact that the guild uses a system of pairing "Beasts" and "Tamers", where "Beasts" are meant to protect their "Tamers" during their research, while "Tamers" are Transients who's [[ManOfKryptonite abilities are a perfect counter to their "Beast"]], in case their "Beast" goes out of control.

!!Leib

[[caption-width-right:350:''Ueno Head Researcher'']]
!!!'''Voiced by''': Creator/TomokazuSeki

An Alder tree spirit Transient that appeared from the world of Tir na Nog. He attends as a medical department graduate student researcher, though he stands out for speaking like he's someone older. Leib is the dorm supervisor of the beastman dedicated dorms at Taito Ward's Ueno Academy and the supervisor of the research labs. His Rule and Role can transplant the dangers bearing down on someone to elsewhere and let only whoever he chooses to survive. He hates the costs involved, so unless it's a crisis he doesn't see taking any active movements as a good thing. As a result he's despised as a useless troublemaker by the other labs, and his kouhai see him as a jerk senpai who will dump tons of work on them because they're young. Leib tends to grumble to himself about the latest slang being used as inappropriate.
----

* BrilliantButLazy: Leib is a medical student and researcher, and is for all intents and purposes, seemingly very intelligent. He's also, notably, quite perceptive and gives very good advice to Agyo in the Oriental New Year event. However, he's known for being very lazy as well, to the point where his dorm-mate and partner Cu Sith has to pester him just to get him out of bed.
* HiddenDepths: The Dream Kingdom event explains that no small amount of Leib's lazy attitude is born from relief at no longer needing to adjudicate the value of people's lives.
* ManOfKryptonite: He's Cu Sith's Tamer, as his ability to transfer injuries and wounds to trees counters the damage Cu Sith's howls could have on innocents.
* NoSell: His Prayer Painter/Prayer Painting Bear skill gives him an immunity to all forms of skill sealing.
* ScrewTheRulesImDoingWhatsRight: He's not above bending or ignoring the rules if push comes to shove.
* ThisLooksLikeAJobForAquaman: The sheer focus his skillset has, removing debuffs, means that depending on the encounter he will either be irreplaceable or almost useless.
* WhiteMage: An odd example as he focuses more of the debuff cleansing aspect of the role, so much so that outside of his charge skill he has no healing abilities.

[[folder:Cu Sith]]
!!Cu Sith
[[quoteright:350:https://static.tvtropes.org/pmwiki/pub/images/cu_sith_3.png]]
[[caption-width-right:350:''Fluffy High Schooler'']]
!!!'''Voiced by''': Creator/KentaKumamoto

He attends an academy in Ueno popular among Therian transients, particularly the furry type. He's a bit of a crybaby, but his usual cheerful and very friendly nature makes him very likeable. Before he was summoned, he was kept as a guard dog by the fairy Gruagach, who was Cu Sith's Summoner, but also his father, brother, and irreplaceable family. However, his former master is now nowhere to be found.
----

* BadPowersGoodPeople: It's difficult to imagine a character more unexpected than sweet, gentle crybaby Cu Sith to have a skill named Harbinger of Death.
* CryCute: Because of his crybaby nature he tends to tear up even when he's happy.
* CuteButCacophonic: He is considered to be rather adorable, but he is also incredibly loud whenever he gets upset, his Third Howling in particular being outright destructive.
* EarlyBirdCameo: He, Garmr, and Fenrir first appeared with non-speaking roles in Chapter 1, for the purpose of showing the player that transients exist in daily normal life.
* InelegantBlubbering: He bawls loudly when he's upset.
* MakeMeWannaShout: His voice is his primary weapon as a guard dog: the first few warning barks are able to [[CompellingVoice suppress the aggressive urges of those who hear him]], while his Third Howling is a destructive shockwave of sound.
* SensitiveGuyAndManlyMan: Sensitive Guy to two separate duos, both his friend Moritaka and his pseudo-rival Garmr.
* TeamMom: Seemingly plays a bit of this role among his schoolmates at Ueno, where he prepares meals and makes sure workaholic Leib eats properly and tries to make sure he stays on a normal sleep schedule.
* TragicKeepsake: His green scarf was knit by his former master, with a prayer for Cu Sith's happiness woven in as a charm.
* UnknownRival: Though he's viewed by Garmr as a rival, Cu Sith would really rather just be friends, often just frustrating Garmr even further when Cu Sith doesn't respond the way he wants to challenges.

[[folder:Jambavan]]
!!Jambavan
[[quoteright:350:https://static.tvtropes.org/pmwiki/pub/images/jambavan_3star_full.png]]
[[caption-width-right:350:''Genius Med Student'']]
!!!'''Voiced by''': Creator/KentaKumamoto

A bear Transient and high school student. Although Jambavan is an incredibly gifted medical student with a brilliant mind he has a fundamentally timid, submissive personality and is a chronic worrier, which can be troublesome for the older students he is surrounded by. [[spoiler:He works for the App's GM team in West Tokyo]].
----

* AmplifierArtifact: His sacred treasure, the Syamantaka jewel of Indian mythology, is capable of granting him unbelievable, world-shattering power; but with the caveat that he can only wield power from the jewel proportional to the opponent he's up against.
* DodgeTheBullet: When he gets shot at by black suit bodyguards in Chapter 6: thanks to his proportional strength ability he's fast enough to dodge the hail of gunfire completely.
* DressedToHeal: Wears a doctor's labcoat at all times, and carries his Sacred Treasure jewel at the end of his stethoscope.
* ExtremeDoormat: Abused by Alice because of his conflict-avoidant nature; she tends to foist all her work onto him.
* FishOutOfWater: Because of his younger age, he feels out of place among the much older students at college.
* ManOfKryptonite: He's Fenrir's Tamer, since his Sacred Artifact's ability to grant him strength proportionate to his opponent allows him to rein in Fenrir if he goes berserk.
* MinionWithAnFInEvil: He'd really rather not be a part of any world domination schemes, and tries unsuccessfully to talk Alice into just dropping things and going home when possible.
* TheMole: Not ''maliciously'' - Jambavan seems to be completely incapable of cruelty - but he's in a Guild researching the App, while also secretly [[spoiler:being a member of said App's GM Team]].
* NervousWreck: Jambavan is a worrywart and pessimist by nature, and "Dream Kingdom" has him fittingly taking the role of [[AliceInWonderland the White Rabbit]].
* SenpaiKouhai: Has this relationship with Leib, his senior and dormitory manager at his college. Judging by the way Jambavan talks about him, Leib isn't always the best or most responsible, but has Jambavan's best interests at heart.
* TeenGenius: He does poorly in social situations, but is academically talented, to the point he studies medical science [[GradeSkipper at college.]]
* WeaksauceWeakness: He is proportionally as weak as his opponent, which gets used against him by both Alice, who bosses him around, and [[spoiler:Ose, who kidnaps him in Chapter 6]]. Additionally, the artifact depends on his perception of the person: if he doesn't personally view them as evil then the jewel switches to healing instead, so he can't fight someone he sympathizes with on some level.
* WhiteMage: A single-target healer with the most consistent status cleansing ability ingame.

[[folder:Fenrir]]
!!Fenrir
[[quoteright:350:https://static.tvtropes.org/pmwiki/pub/images/fg_fenrir01.png]]
[[caption-width-right:350:''Lone Wolf'']]
!!!'''Voiced by''': Creator/MasahiroOgata

A wolf Transient who is never trusting, yet very gullible. He paints himself into a corner and then says, "See? Now you'll betray me, right?" In other words, he has a subconscious desire to be tied down and is generally a pain to deal with. He claims that he can withstand any sort of pain, and true to his words, is actually extremely resilient. He has long lost siblings: a little brother who has no concept of personal space, and a little sister who falls in love easily but goes crazy... literally. He's extremely easy to befriend if you show him sincerity.
----

* AccidentalProposal: In the "Treasure Ship" post-event quest, Fenrir brings the Protagonist along to obtain "the power of silver" (read: buy some fancy new jewelery), and spies a new release: a pair of matching rings. He immediately buys them, and ''insists'' the Protagonist immediately wear one while he wears the other - without reading the rings' inscriptions first. The Protagonist catches on to what Fenrir's done. [[FailedASpotCheck The wolf doesn't]].
* {{Chuunibyou}}: Speaks in fancy, eloquent riddles, talks about darkness and all-around just tends to phrase his sentences in a much more outlandish, edgy manner than his cohorts, not to mention his taste for silver jewelry and black leather and insistence on how the power within him must be restrained. What makes this funny is that he both originates from and currently lives in two distinct worlds where magic, gods, and other similar things are ''real,'' making this chuuni persona even more bizarre in the context of the setting.
* EarlyBirdCameo: He, Garmr, and Cu Sith first appeared with non-speaking roles in Chapter 1, for the purpose of showing the player that transients exist in daily normal life.
* HatesBeingTouched: A downplayed case in that in some cases he rather ''would'' like to be, thank you very much, it's just that his magical bindings suck the life force out of anyone who touches them and he'd rather not risk it.
* TheNicknamer: Connects back to his {{Chuunibyou}} nature, but he does tend to give people crazy nicknames, such as "Maiden Stained With Ego," "Attention-Seeking Maiden," and "Outlaw Pushy Maiden" (all different nicknames for Benten).
* TheParanoiac: He is very distrusting. One example is during a Valentine event dialogue, where he immediately accuses the approaching Protagonist of trying to pull a prank on him until he finds out by taste that, no, the Protagonist really is giving him Valentine's Day chocolate.
* RestrainingBolt: Unlike his original legend, Fenrir's fetters manifest as simple looking nylon rope permanently tied to his body, although their effects stays pretty much the same. The ropes seal the majority of his world-ending powers and are [[GettingCrapPastTheRadar tastefully arranged in Japanese bondage fashion under his clothes]].
* SizeShifter: Once the rope around his body is unbound, Fenrir will regain his ability to devour everything around him and grow exponentially, potentially becoming a world-ending catastrophe. During the "Treasure Ship" event, he attempted to swallow the Sea of Ran in order to weaken Aegir.

[[folder:Alp]]
!!Alp
[[quoteright:350:https://static.tvtropes.org/pmwiki/pub/images/fg_alp01.png]]
[[caption-width-right:350:''Panda B-BOY'']]
!!!'''Voiced by''': Creator/RumiOokubo

Despite his appearance, Alp is ''not'' a Panda Transient. Instead, he is a dream demon from the world of Yggdrasil. He tries to style himself as "cute", hence his current appearance. He is in possession of two Sacred Artifacts; his hat, which allows him to swap dreams and reality, and the bracelet on his wrist, which was what transformed him into his current body. His hand and wrist are now too large to remove it, though he doesn't mind. His goal is to become a star, and as a result is seen as a bit of an AttentionWhore. Whether he's counted as a Beast or a Tamer isn't yet clear.
----

* AFormYouAreComfortableWith: His in game appearance is due to his bracelet which can change his form when removed and put back on... except when he changed into his current bulky form it got stuck and can't be taken off again. He doesn't mind this much, as his panda appearance is exactly what he wanted.
* AttentionWhore: Not above showboating his rapping and breakdancing in public, without being asked. This is on purpose, however, as he can't realize ''his'' dream of becoming a star if no one knows about him.
* DreamStealer: As a being born of dreams he needs to eat dreams to survive, with the caveat being that those whose dreams are eaten are subject to horrid nightmares.
* DreamWalker: His main artifact, his hat, allows him to enter people's dreams.
* DualityMotif: His hat has a sun embroidered on it, and his shoes have crescent moons. More subtly, this extends to his own appearance: pandas are black and white.
* GratuitousEnglish: "Hey, yo!" and "Put your hands up!" If you plan to use him in battle, get used to hearing it ''very quickly''. He might even rival Nyarlathotep!
* HipHop: His main design motif, and he raps at various points in his event.
* OurDemonsAreDifferent: His profile explicitly calls him a demon, not that you'd notice by either looking at him or talking to him.
* MarkOfTheSupernatural: The panda markings around his eyes are subtlety shaped like stylized bat wings, symbolizing his demonic nature.
* NiceJobBreakingItHero: He is the reason that the entire Dream Kingdom event happens. Due to him not closing a door when trying to enter the Protagonist's dreams, his power designates the entire building they're in as the area of effect for his power.
* SolarAndLunar: Played with in that his sun and moon do not symbolize day and night, but fantasy and reality.
* SupportPartyMember: His main role in gameplay: he has no real damage buffs, however he can apply quite a few debuffs. This is especially true after he's used his charge skill, which allows him to hit the whole field for a few turns.
