* TheSlacker: Downplayed. She doesn't like P.E class and avoids doing anything in it as much as possible... but everyone else does that too. If the class isn't P.E, she does like it and even endures sickness for it.
* WhatDoesSheSeeInHim: Several characters comment on her feelings for Vincent with incredulity.
* WorkingThroughTheCold: Maddy insists on going to school even when she's sick.
