One interesting and unexpected change is his tendency to cause animals to join the crew. Most of them have at least some decent reason or buildup, but while Lassoo and Billy seemed natural, others like the Dugongs were kinda abrupt and borderline forced into the story. Not to mention a majority of all the characters Cross has caused to join the crew are animals. To the point half the crew is comprised of animal crew mates. But perhaps once the Straw Hats enter the New World, they can find humanoid characters to join the crew and equalize this ratio.

* FreudianExcuse: Subverted; Koala asks him "who was it?", following his raging about the stupidity and evil of slavery, both back in his own world and out on the seas here. Cross angrily tells her he doesn't have a tragic backstory connected to slavery and sure as hell doesn't need one to loathe it.

*** The ''scope'' of his meta knowledge, while large, is still ''finite''. He only knows as far the conclusion of the "Dressrosa" arc, and as such is left unaware about anything that happens ''after'' it. While this would normally mean he'd simply be flying blind once the Straw Hats leave Dressrosa, Oda has a habit of expanding on canonical backstories with each new arc, meaning even what Cross ''does'' know can be left inaccurate or filled with holes, which can then screw him over in the future. Such as his being unaware of Sanji's true past as a member of the Vinsmoke family before meeting Zeff, and only learning about it after the mess with Duval, Cross himself being just as caught off guard as the others due to said detail only being revealed in the "Whole Cake Island" arc. Or how one of the bigger reasons for his hatred Aokiji was his actions at Ohara, including killing Jaguar D. Saul, [[spoiler:when the "Egghead" arc revealed that Saul is ''alive'', and made contact with Dr. Vegapunk while in hiding on Elbaf.]]

** One could consider his reliance on meta knowledge another flaw, or at least his failure to consider [[SpannerInTheWorks Spanners in the Works]]. For most of the journey, it was mostly streamlining the path that the crew followed, which was mostly successful. But after it seemed like he had succeeded in saving Ace, he got bolder with his actions. Thriller Bark was the first example of this happening: Cross's plan to flip the script worked perfectly, but with the war apparently averted, he failed to consider the possibility that Kuma could still show up, and this oversight caused them to face two Warlords in a row. The same thing happened on Sabaody: Cross's plan to dismantle the slave trade worked perfectly, but it turned out that Doflamingo had been watching the whole time and could have stopped him on a whim. And immediately afterward, he learns that he didn't stop Ace's execution after all, which he learns shortly afterward was due to Aokiji accidentally intervening.

* BerserkButton: Having to leave a potential treasure is one. When Cross tells her they'll have to leave some of the gold pillar behind, she strangles him and threatens to eat his entrails.

* AchievementsInIgnorance: His systematic obliteration of the World Government's reputation has the accidental side effect of the destruction of the modelling industry, after an interview with Saint Charloss reveals that the World Nobles use fashion magazines to not only search for spouses, but to also kill anyone of notable beauty for ''daring'' to equal the radiance of the Celestial Dragons. Cross nearly has an aneurysm once he comes to this realization.

* ForeignCussWord: Cross can spring into quite the ClusterFBomb in French when sufficiently hurt or frustrated.

And the first time she awakens the Soveriegn's Will, she saves Robin's life as well, freezing Spandam despite their long distance.

* MeaningfulName: No matter his distaste for his name is, the name Jeremiah referred to the [[Literature/TheBible prophet]]. Cross himself feared not preventing the War of the Best and Ace's death.

* GirlyGirlWithATomboyStreak: Conis is still as sweet as ever and plays her harp regularly, her taste in fashion changed on the Blue Seas. Upon leaving with the Straw Hats, she quickly discovers that she prefers masculine attire to feminine, not to mention the fact that she is, after all, their gunner. Much to Sanji’s despair as he literally shrieks in horror to see Conis in such attire instead of something to show off her curves.
