** In "The Savannah Summit", Makuu discovers that frequently antagonizing people, trying to steal their territory and even attacking the local monarchs generally has a way of making your neighbors hate you, not trust you, and want absolutely nothing to do with you when you actually need their help.
** At the start of Season 2, Makuu made the decision to mature and at least try to be a responsible adult rather than double down on his bullying ways, which was the first step in his HeelFaceTurn. However, his personality did not flip overnight because of it. Makuu's harsh and brutish attitude is actually largely the same between Seasons 1 and 2, with the biggest difference being how far he will take it and the gratitude he feels towards his allies, and if he snaps, it’s usually nothing personal. Season 2 shows him not being particularly patient and he especially makes a big deal of others not respecting his precious time. As a result, the other Pridelanders still consider him to be a stubborn and unpleasant croc, albeit one who is not unreasonable when push comes to shove. Case in point, "The Little Guy" and "Pridelanders Unite". In the former episode, Makuu giving Hodari the cold shoulder for wasting his time by looking foolish helps to kick off the crisis of the week. In the latter episode, his attempt to train the other Pridelanders with crocodile fighting moves only lasts less than a hour, again because he felt their antics just wasted his time.

* ShipTease: It is implied that she has feelings for Kion, best shown when she reacts with horror when she sees his face.

* SmallRoleBigImpact: He has less than a few minutes of screentime, but his actions are what ultimately kick off the entire franchise to begin with

* PluckyComicRelief: If someone on the Guard is going to be used as a physical punching bag for comedy, Ono is the one most likely to be it, having had the most times he gets injured.

* TomboyWithAGirlyStreak: Once you get to know her more it turns out she has a very kind and affectionate personality who wants everyone to live in peace. She is also shown to be very nurturing towards Tunu and Wema.

In reality, it's been proven for a while that oxpeckers are actually parasitic and large mammals are uncomfortable with them landing on them because they ''peck their wounds open and drink their blood'', [[FridgeHorror which would make their relationship a lot more abusive]]. Then again, they ''do'' remove ticks in the process, even if it's only to get the blood that the parasites have ingested.

* RhinoRampage: Subverted. Kifaru means well, but [[BlindMistake he constantly runs into things due to his poor eyesight and this tends to cause problems for the Pridelands]]. Namely when Mwenzi isn't there to keep him in check. Although [[PapaWolf if you mess with his friends]] Kifaru will play this straight, as Makuu found out the hard way.

** Kifaru is a white rhinoceros, which is rarely represented in media in comparison to the black or hook-lipped rhinoceros. As an added bonus, he's the first white rhino to appear in the ''Lion King'' universe; all other rhinos seen in the franchise so far have been black rhinos.

* SeldomSeenSpecies: A William's dwarf gecko a.k.a. electric blue gecko. For bonus points, the William's dwarf gecko is a literal seldom-seen species in real life, due to being critically endangered and endemic to a small area in Tanzania.

* WallCrawl: Naturally. As a gecko he possess sticky pads on his hands and feet for clinging onto vertical surfaces, ceilings, and even the bodies of larger animals. This ability becomes useful when distracting Kiburi from murdering Makuu.

* TurtlePower: She follows the common portrayal of tortoises as slow, wise, and long-lived.

* RhinoRampage: Averted. He's quite pleasant to be around with. Although "The Savannah Summit" shows he has his limits. And then "Pride Landers Unite!" demonstrates how dangerous he can be when push comes to shove.

* BorrowedCatchphrase: Annoyingly mutters "Baboons", commonly said by Fuli, when his troop doesn't want to pick up the baobab fruit they threw.

* BlindMistake: Kifaru ends up causing trouble wherever he goes and failing to navigate properly due to his especially poor eyesight.
