Shoehorn. Rewriting due to bloat and lack of real context.

* FieryRedhead: More of a reddish-brown, but she certainly has the fiery, up-tempo personality down to a T.

* MovesetClone: Of Peach. Along with Lucina and Dark Pit, Daisy is what's known as an Echo Fighter — a character whose moveset is identical to an existing fighter, with only technical aspects behind them differing. In fact, she was the first Echo Fighter revealed after the other two were rebranded as such.

Viridi called him out on being a potential Moveset Clone of Ike. Palutena was the one who mentioned he doesn't have an Aether recovery.

* Irony: Back in Wii U, Viridi said it wouldn't make sense for him to be a fighter because he'd be a MovesetClone of Ike without an Aether recovery. In Ultimate, the Aether recovery is the only thing he copied from Ike, and he retains his own version of Aether as a Final Smash on top of that.

* Retraux: Not as much as Simon, since Richter is taken from his Rondo of Blood design. However, his latest non-ported appearance was Dracula X Chronicles for Playstation Portable, in which he was redesigned to be in style of Ayami Kojima's artwork and closer to his Symphony of the Night style, only younger (notably, he didn't have his headband there). In this game, however, he's designed similarly on his Animesque debut design in Rondo of Blood.

* YourSizeMayVary: He's notably smaller in Ultimate than in his previous appearances, being four meters tall when standing upright and around the size of Bowser (a character who is also larger in his home series) when hunched over. Given that concerns about his size were often raised in support why he couldn't be made playable -- and according to Sakurai made it very difficult to fit him in as a character -- and that counter-arguments pointed out that Olimar, despite being less than 2 cm in his series, was in the current and previous rosters (albeit bigger in size), players are okay with this compromise.

* BewareTheSillyOnes: In spite of his comic antics and cartoonish design, K. Rool's personality is more comparable to the likes of Ganondorf or Ridley than to Bowser or Dedede, if not relatively worse. He's a borderline insane petty tyrant who abuses his underlings, managed to kidnap more and more of the Kong Clan in each of the original four Donkey Kong Country titles he featured in, and his repeated defeats by them escalated to him trying to destroy their island and everything on it. His Final Smash, where he uses a WaveMotionGun to blow up Donkey Kong Island, is canonically what he tried to do in Donkey Kong 64. His cartoon incarnation was a comical IneffectualSympatheticVillain, but there he also deliberately activated a curse that would have sunk the island into the sea, dooming everyone on it including him, to try and blackmail Cranky into giving him the Crystal Coconut.

** He's this to Ridley. Both are the reptilian main antagonists of a well-known Nintendo hero, are pirates in their own way, and have appeared multiple times through out Smash series before being PromotedToPlayable in the same game. However, Ridley is a skeletal and highly detailed dragon who's outright sadistic, whereas King K. Rool is a cartoonish obese crocodile and rather comedic in comparison. Likewise, K. Rool fights mainly by using various cartoonish gadgets while Ridley is far more vicious and fights with nothing but his claws, talons, tail, and plasma breath. Their Final Smashes both involve them lunging forward to launch their opponent onto a representation of their respective nemeses (Samus' Gunship and DK Island) before obliterating both with a giant laser. Ridley uses his own plasma breath in a stoic manner, while K. Rool giddily slams the fire button of his over the top Blast-o-Matic machine multiple times to fire the laser, triumphantly laughing all the while.
** His moveset also acts as a foil to that of his nemesis, Donkey Kong. While both are super heavyweights with heavy hitting moves, Donkey Kong is a BareFistedMonk, using only his body to attack and focusing on close range combat. Meanwhile, K. Rool makes use of external items like his crown and blunderbuss for most of his specials, allowing him to fight at a distance.
** He also serves as one to King Dedede, since they're both obese monarchs (sort of) who, in their first appearance, stole copious amounts of food, inspiring their archrivals to take them down. However, Dedede's villainy is more along the lines of him being a JerkAss (as illustrated in K. Rool's reveal trailer) or occasionally greedy while K. Rool is sadistic and vicious. Since their debuts, Dedede has gone on to be more of an ally to Kirby than an enemy, and has shown that he isn't all bad a guy at heart. King K. Rool on the other hand only escalated his schemes after his defeat, and holds an intense hatred of the Kongs, going as far as to try and obliterate them and their entire island out of hatred and revenge.

* YourSizeMayVary: Like many of the other large villains, K. Rool has been significantly scaled down to reasonably fit within the roster. In his source games, he's often at least twice the size of Donkey Kong, who himself is already one of the biggest characters in this cast. In Ultimate, the two of them are now more-or-less the same size, K. Rool's rotund physique aside. This hasn't been the first time that he had been shrunken down to such a size however, as the first Donkey Kong Land game had him at a similar size relative to DK. Results in a bit of an in-joke at the end of his trailer, where he leaves DK and Diddy, and comes back much larger.

This hasn't been the first time that he had been shrunken down to such a size size, however, as the first Donkey Kong Land game had him at a similar size relative to DK. Results in a bit of an in-joke at the end of his trailer, where he leaves DK and Diddy, and comes back much larger.

* PromotedToPlayable: Daisy has been present in the series since Melee -- but only in the form of trophies, and as an alternate colour option for Peach. As of now, she's branched out into her own playable character.
* TomboyWithAGirlyStreak: Much like in her own series, Daisy is the more tomboyish Princess between herself and Peach -- generally being the much more sassy, boisterous and less formal of the two -- but at the same time, still with a noticeable flower motif to her outfits and moves, which is added onto the rainbow and ribbon ones that Peach already had with hers.
* TomboyAndGirlyGirl: A bit more of an InformedAttribute compared to how she is normally since she'll be a MovesetClone of Peach here, but character-wise, she's the Tomboy to Peach's Girly Girl -- it especially shows in her animations and taunts.
* VSign: Daisy does a standard version as a taunt and a sideways version as a victory pose -- complete with a playful Anime/SailorMoon-esque wink in the latter.

* CompositeCharacter: He's primarily an Echo Fighter of Roy (making him share similarities with Marth by extension), though he also has slightly different version of Ike's Up Special. Unlike Ike, Chrom doesn’t throw his sword up in the air. Chrom goes straight for the flip and downward slash. Meaning he doesn’t have the potential damage on the sword throw like Ike, but it could be faster. He also has a different Final Smash from either of them. His slashes also sound heavy like Ike's unlike the more sharp noises Roy and Marth have.

* HumanoidAbomination: Unlike the real Samus, there's no girl hidden underneath that PoweredArmor -- Dark Samus was once the Metroid Prime; assuming her current form after being overloaded with Phazon and absorbing Samus' Phazon Suit. Much of this is conveyed in her animations, which give the sense of a creature that's not used to having a humanoid form - floating instead of walking, throwing her whole body into her movements, getting into awkward poses, and generally not showing Samus's usual professional restraint.

** Sakurai notes that some of his moves are actually taken from Richter Belmont, his descendant, when talking about Richter's status as an Echo Fighter. Specifically, all the moves that gave him mobility which are Tackle (his dash attack), Slide Jump (his down tilt), Somersault (his backwards jump), and Upper (his Up Special, and technically is called High Jump in the series) all came from his echo. His Final Smash Grand Cross is also from Richter, as the games featuring him do not have Item Crash.

* DarkerAndEdgier: As Sakurai notes in the Direct video that debuted him, Simon and the Castlevania series are a bit darker than much of the rest of the Smash roster. This is reflected in the Castlevania stage being a forbiding castle full of horrifying monsters, Simon having a relatively grounded and realistic design, and his Final Smash, where he traps his opponents in a coffin, hurls them into the air, and bombards them with energy bolts, being more like a Fatality than a Final Smash.
* DashAttack: Notable in that his dash attack, a forward lunge while spinning his whip around like a pinwheel, is a move from Richter called the Tackle, as he cannot perform this move.
* DifficultButAwesome: Much like his home series, if he misses an attack with his whip he's highly vulnerable due to the lag in the attack, but the trade off is having the longest range in terms of standard attacks when compared to the rest of the cast.
* DivingKick: His downward aerial is a downward kick called the Jump Kick. Neither he nor Richter can do this in their own games, only in their IntraFranchiseCrossover game appearance Harmony of Despair.

Any enemies hit by this are treated with a cutscene where he unleashes crosses of light to the coffin to damage the players within. Very fitting considering how Grand Cross is an Item Crash of the Cross item and Item Crashes themselves are Limit Breaks of the franchise.
