* Gainaxing: During a scuffle part way through the anime she's thrown into a wall and her breasts noticeably swing around even with the tight shirt and sweater she wears over it.

* TightsUnderShorts: She wears black tights under her shorts.

* ShootTheDog: When having to fix events so that [[spoiler:Mayuri doesn't die]] he has to undo the happiness these events brought. Usually right in front of the person in question, who know what he's doing. [[spoiler:He has to sacrifice Amane's peace of mind and happiness, Faris' father, and Luka's chance to live as the gender he identifies with.]]

* InternetJerk: While she scoffs at John Titor's comments just like most users at @channel, she goes extra mile to insult Hououin Kyouma by replying to almost all his comments with disdain and mockery. She continues doing so even after knowing Kyouma's real identity (Okabe), but decides to slow down after Okabe and Daru recognizes her as an @channeler.

* AmbiguousDisorder: Mayuri has a..."tenuous", grasp on things, for lack of a better word. She often struggles with processing complex information like the usual lab banter between Okabe, Kurisu and Daru, or even stuff like homework, hence the frequent remedial classes that she has to take. She also speaks at quarter-speed compared to everyone else, and usually [[{{Mondegreen}} misunderstands or misphrases information she overhears]], frequently has innuendo or subtlety fly over her head, and acts much younger than her age, but the most explanation we ever get is Okabe saying she's a little "off" and that she's always been like this.

* {{Mondegreen}}: Due to her nature as TheDitz, Mayuri often mishears complex phrases or names flung her way, and will recite them as is, if not more broken.

* {{Foil}}: A very interesting example for Mayuri as they are both [[NiceGirl kind people]] who are LivingEmotionalCrutch for Tennouji and Okabe and [[spoiler: [[TooGoodForThisSinfulEarth don't really deserve to die horrifically.]]}} While Mayuri's presented as TheDitz most of the time except for her astounding emotional intelligence, Tsuzuri's an all-around SmartGirl because when Tennouji first met her, she was currently attending an university where Suzu works there as a lecturer.

** Even the anime adaptation of ''0'' takes it even further as Daru himself in the BadFuture suddenly becomes [[spoiler: skinnier]] after reuniting with Okabe compared to the VN where he's already depicted as obese in a CG instead by that time it rolls in.

* BecauseYouWereNiceToMe: Like Faris, He likes Okabe because of his kindness and even his {{Chuunibyou}} personality which would normally exasperate everyone asides Mayuri and Faris. This becomes the turning point in chapter 8 when he (as a girl) and Okabe goes on a date which ends in an awkward failure which then she mentions to Okabe about the incident last year when he walks through Akihabara, {{otaku}}s were shamelessly taking photos of him without permission which then Okabe appeared and stand up for him against them followed by Luka telling everyone he's a guy which they left him alone then Okabe mentoring him in the Iaijutsu art to toughen him up which Okabe realizes that was a memory when she was male indicating he remembered it from another worldline. It ends with Mayuri pointing out Okabe isn't being himself which Okabe fulfills it by time-leaping and giving the swordsmanship workout for Luka before sending the D-mail to avert [[spoiler:Mayuri's death.]]

* BaldHeadOfToughness: The physically strongest character in the series and the only fully bald one. He is so intimidating to Okabe, his tenant, that the latter will try to get on his good graces whenever he seems to have made him mad for fear of a beatdown and/or eviction. [[spoiler:He also turns out to be the BigBad as the ruthless leader of a secret group of PrivateMilitaryContractors, crossing over with BaldOfEvil.]] Notably, in the prequel ''Brownian Motion of Love and Hate'', he still has his hair and is much more average--it's only after [[spoiler:he is forced into working under SERN]] that he gets his bald, buff look.

* StuffedIntoTheFridge: [[spoiler:If she's captured by SERN alive, Moeka sends Okabe a picture of her as a jellyman]]. It nearly breaks him.
