* CharClone: One Dandy is specifically stated to be a [[Franchise/{{Gundam}} Mobile Suit pilot]]... Except he looks like Cosmo from Anime/SpaceRunawayIdeon instead. The one that ''looks'' like Char is a space ninja, funnily enough.

* CatSmile: The little yellow logo on his hat has one.

* HeroesWantRedheads: One of the alternate versions of her that Dandy encounters during the start of season two is a cute redhead that seems to be rather close with her iteration of Dandy.

* HeroesWantRedheads: Inverted; Freckles certainly wanted Dandy, but it's very unclear if Dandy felt the same way.

* CatchPhrase: "....and that's the ''Dandy'' way to live, baby!"

* CasanovaWannabe: spends much of his time thinking about beautiful women and trying to flirt with them. The thing is that said beautiful women are almost all far smarter, more skilled, and superior in combat than he is. That being said, he does manage to [[ThrowTheDogABone score a victory every now and then]] when Space Dandy's heart is in the right place.

* CloningBlues:

* PsychoExBoyfriend: Scarlet needed Dandy to be TheBeard because this guy will not let it go.

* AnythingThatMoves: If it has a nice booty and isn't trying to kill him, Dandy will fall for it, regardless of species or the placement of those coveted features. Even those features are negotiable. He even once dated a female ''tesseract''.

* DoesNotLikeShoes: He doesn't appear to be wearing shoes, as his tiny feet are the same color as his skin.

* LabcoatOfScienceAndMedicine: His standard attire, [[DoesNotLikeShoes barefoot]].

* NotSoAboveItAll: QT is the sane and competent member of the crew, and, sometimes, it becomes apparent that that's not the same thing as being the ''smart'' member.

* TrademarkFavoriteFood: Well-organized data and coffee. [[spoiler:The latter makes him short-circuit]].

* ChildrenAreInnocent: Like any healthy and normal child, 033H is very friendly, curious and adventurous, even wading through dangerous areas with fearless wonder since she doesn't have a clear understanding of such situations. Sadly, this is also reflected in how she reacts to her impending "death" through loss of personality; she neither cries nor shows any sign of fear, but simply calls out to Dandy to say goodbye like she's heading off to sleep.

** Claims to be one early on in episode 5, to an actual child (Adelie), but it's averted later on, where he not only tracks down the girl's grandfather, but lets them go live their lives in peace rather than taking the girl to the alien registry.

** On the flip side, when Adelie tells him why she thinks adults are terrible, Dandy doesn't rebuke that notion, implying that he agrees with her on that front despite being an adult himself.

* ButtMonkey / TheChewToy: The universe seems to have it out for them, making sure that they never [[FailureIsTheOnlyOption have a successful job]] while having some of the [[BornUnlucky worst luck ever seen]]. It's all PlayedForLaughs though.

** In episode 4, Dandy and QT trying to rescue Meow who is trapped inside the zombie-swarmed hospital.
*** Also in this episode, Dandy feels legitmately sorry for abandoning his now zombified friends and promises them that he will never forget them.

** In episode 15, Dandy is absolutely angered at the Ukelele Man for [[spoiler: killing Meow and QT claiming that they're his friends.]]
*** In the same episode, [[spoiler:Past!]]Meow and QT holding onto [[spoiler:Past!]]Dandy from being captured by the Ukelele Man.

** In episode 2, Dandy (almost) throwing Meow out of the airlock just because [[DisproportionateRetribution he ate his ramen]].
** In episode 3, Dandy leaves Meow trapped inside the stomach of the [[spoiler: Deathgerian]] and completely forgets about him after neturalizing the alien.
** In episode 4, Dandy uses QT as a meelee weapon against the zombie horde, QT is clearly heartbroken over this.

** In episode 18, Moew and QT show a ton of ambivalance over the possibility that Dandy might've drowned to death, with QT nonchalantly asking if they should get him.

* TrueCompanions: Sometimes. A few instances show that they do occasionally care about each other.

* WithFriendsLikeThese: More often than not. The crew are willing to ditch each other during dangerous situations out of either spite, cowardice or personal-gain.

The most shocking of which being that in doing so, he creates a world without gods.]]

* BadassDriver: In episode 7 "A Race in Space is Dangerous, Baby". To make up for his vehicle's shortcomings, he's more than willing to use a combination of ExplosionPropulsion and MacrossMissileMassacre for a speed boost.

* CreepyGood: He's absolutely terrifying in appearance and mannerisms at first, but Dandy soon realizes he wants nothing but to help.
