!! Lucifon

The Lord of Demons, in the second game. He began a war against humans on God's orders and quite happily returned to the Underworld when the hero beat him. He can be found in the Desert, hanging out with some demons.
----
* AffablyEvil: Certainly not the most frightening Lord of Demons, but he is still a huge threat. After all, he almost destroyed the kingdom just before the game starts.
* ArmorPiercingQuestion: He delivers one to the hero when defeated, asking him why is he fighting for the kingdom when he was ordered by the Heavens to destroyed and he only killed fools. The Hero doesn't really know what to say, but Lucifon just leaves.
* DealWithTheDevil: If the daughter has some Sin and she camps in Hell territory, she can meet Lucifon. If she refuses his offer to have a drink with her, [[YougotSpunk he'll be impressed]] and increase one of her skills in exchange of some of her Faith. The downside is that bargaining with Lucifon not only results in a loss of Faith, but also an increase of Sin.
* KlingonPromotion: [[spoiler: Can be ''at the receiving end'', if the Daughter is ''very'' powerful and popular but with also high Sin quotient. As a result she challenges, defeats ''and'' kills him, then becomes the Queen of the Underworld herself.]]
* HeavensDevils: In the very beginning of the game, the LORD tells him to attack the corrupt and decadent human kingdom and punish it for its sins. He accepted the LORD's will and attacked humanity, only to be defeated by an unknown warrior. In a discussion after the battle, he tells the warrior that he was JustFollowingOrders and "I killed only fools," a statement that the warrior has no answer to.
* PunchClockVillain: He was only following God's orders when he started killing humans. And he 'only killed fools'.
* UnholyMatrimony: If the Daughter fills some conditions [[note]](has high enough stats ''plus'' humongous Sin '''and''' has accepted his drink offer, which only happens if she has next to no Faith)[[/note]], when she turns 18 he will show up one night under her window, give her a LoveConfession, and then convince her to elope with him. From then on, she will be [[HotConsort his Dark Bride]] in the Underworld.

!! The King and Queen

The leaders of the unnamed Kingdom in the second game, and the Protagonist's bosses. The King is kind of a DirtyOldMan but fairly pleasant otherwise, while the Queen is a kind-hearted ProperLady.
----
* AmazonChaser: The King will enjoy the Daughter's company more if she has a high combat reputation stat.
* CoolOldGuy: The King is this when he's not leering at pretty women... and as long as [[BerserkButton the Daughter doesn't pawn the Royal Sword gained in the Fighting Contest]].
* CoolOldLady: The Queen, hands down.
* DirtyOldMan: The King still has one of his lovers around, and the daughter can potentially become either his wife [[http://princessmaker.wikia.com/wiki/Queen_Marriage_Ending_(PM2) (Queen by Marriage ending)]] or his new lover [[http://princessmaker.wikia.com/wiki/Concubine_Ending_(PM2) (Concubine ending).]]
* ItWasAGift: When the daughter wins the fighting tournament, she recieves a Royal Sword that it's worth quite a lot of gold. But selling it will cause her to get yelled at by the King and Krueger for giving away a token the king himself gave her, and her Fighting and Social reputation will decrease.
* MayDecemberRomance: In either of the endings involving the King.
* OfferedTheCrown: The King can potentially apoint the daughter as his succesor in the [[DifficultButAwesome extremely hard to get]] [[http://princessmaker.wikia.com/wiki/Queen_Ending_(PM2) Ruling Queen Ending]]
* ReasonableAuthorityFigure: Averted in the past, as they both blame themselves for the decadence of the kingdom itself that led the gods letting Lucifon to wage the war. The Protagonist's arrival and defeat of Lucifon set them straight, and they do a very good job now.
* StrongFamilyResemblance: The young prince has the king's blue eyes and the queen's hair color.
* TeamMom: The Queen is said to be a very maternal figure, looks quite mom-like, and is a sponsor of arts and education in the realm. To gain the Queen's favor, the daughter is requited to have Temperance/Personality (a stat she gains ''only'' by helping Cube with household), as she believes appeareance and strenght fade but personality sticks.

!!The Royal Entourage (Palace Guard, Royal Knight, General Krueger, the Minister of State, the Archbishop, the Royal Concubine, the Jester, [[spoiler: The Young Officer aka the Prince]])

The people that live and work in the Palace of the second game. The Daughter can meet up with them as her status and traits go up.
----

* CoolOldGuy: General Krueger, the Prime Minister and the Archbishop reveal themselves as this too, when the daughter gets enough stats and reps to talk to them regularly.
* DirtyOldMan: While nowhere as blatant as the King, the General is also kinda this.
* FourStarBadass: General Krueger is all but stated to be this, plus a CoolOldGuy. He becomes a RetiredBadass in the General Ending, where he passes the torch to the daughter.
* TheMistress: The King still has a RoyalHarem and keeps at least one lover around, which is seen as completely normal in-story. The daughter can befriend the Concubine when she has enough Conversation skills, and if she meets some conditions in the end, she will join the Harem as well.
* NoNameGiven: Only General Elwin Johanes Ogden Kruger gets his name revealed.
* PassingTheTorch: The Knight, General, Minister, Jester and/or Archbishop can appoint the daughter as their succesor in some endings.
* ShipperOnDeck: The ''Jester'', of all people, can potentially be this: if the Daughter talks to him enough times ''and'' has a good relationship with [[spoiler: the Prince]], he will show up at her home singing a silly song about the two.
* VillainousHarlequin: The local jester subverts it: Everyone thinks he's a bad guy and going talk to him actually drops the daughter's social reputation each time, but he's actually a rather good-hearted fellow and a bit of a TricksterMentor to the heroine. [[note]]As a bonus the daughter can choose being a Jester as her main work in the end, if some requirements are met (she must get the Jester to give her his Royal Harp after several visits '''and''' must have a strong Constitution and very high Art and Conversation skills).[[/note]]

!!The Old Dragon And His Grandson

When the Daughter of the second game goes out in Adventures, she can go to the Desert and reach a fortress there. It's the place where a centuries-old Dragon lives his last years of life in peace, with his cocky grandson as his only company. If the Daughter goes past the Grandson (whether by paying a toll or defeating him), she'll meet the old man...

----

* {{Adorkable}}: The Young Dragon turns out to be this, if the Daughter defeats him.
* AmazinglyEmbarrassingParents: Or Grandparent, in this case. If the Old Dragon applied LecherousLicking to the Daughter, when the poor boy finds out at the meeting he ''screams'' in horror.
* CoolOldGuy: The Dragon is this, again as long as he doesn't leer at the Daughter.
* DoggedNiceGuy: The Young Dragon comes to the household to ''beg'' the Daughter to marry him, [[FlowersOfRomance red roses bouquet]] and all.
* DirtyOldMan: As the Daughter turns 16, the Dragon alternates between being a CoolOldGuy and this. i.e. he comments on her figure, gives her money and potentially a pretty skimpy dancing dress, teases her, etc.
* GateGuardian: The Young Dragon guards the entrance to the Desert Ruins. The Daughter can either defeat him to gain infinite access, or constantly pay a fee.
* GracefulLoser: If the Father refuses to set up the ArrangedMarriage, the Young Dragon reacts quite awkwardly (and a bit tearfully), but ultimately tells the girl that he wishes her well. This offers quite the contrast with [[LoveHurts his VERY heartbroken reaction]] if she passes up their engagement to marry the Prince.
* InterspeciesRomance: The Daughter lampshades how she's a human and the Young Dragon is, well, a dragon. The youngster replies that as long as there's love, species doesn't matter. The game begs to differ a little, though, as if the player pairs them up, the surprised and pouty Daughter loses some Morality (for an ''arranged'' deal that was suddenly sprung up on her); while they don't fully condone it, her guardian god will comment on it but will handwave it with "Love is blind, after all".
* InterGenerationalFriendship: The centuries-old Dragon has this with both the father and the daughter.
* LecherousLicking: The Old Dragon gives this to the Daughter if she meets him when she's over 14 year old.
* LoveAtFirstPunch: The Young Dragon will fall in love with the Daughter if she beats him at the ruin's entrance.
* MarriageBeforeRomance: It's implied that the Daughter ''isn't'' super in love with the Young Dragon when they marry (especially in the original, ''Refine'' makes her a little sweeter about it), but they'll ultimately reach this stage with a little time.
* MayflyDecemberRomance: The young dragon and the daughter's relationship since dragons can live for hundreds, if not thousands, of years and the daughter, despite of being a heavenly being, still has the lifespan of a human.
* MoneyFetish: The Young Dragon charges the Daughter 200G when she tries to enter the ruins. He says it's [[DragonHoard ancient dragon tradition to accumulate wealth]] for his older days. The Old Dragon, now that he's entering his final years, [[ItsAllJunk he starts to give his money away]].
* NobilityMarriesMoney: As the hero who saved the kingdom, the Father and Daughter can be considered nobility; and the dragons offer ''10.000G'' as engagement gift. Engaging the Daughter to the dragon will equal to kissing ''any'' money problems goodbye.
* RedEyesTakeWarning: Both dragons have red eyes, but they're actually quite friendly once the players get to know them.
* ShipperOnDeck: The Old Dragon joins his grandson's courting visit to act as matchmaker.
* UnclePennybags: After she turns 15, the Old Dragon will start to give the Daughter some money according with the amount of Charisma/Glamour she has, no matter if she's engaged to his grandson or not.
* WeaknessTurnsHerOn: If the Young Dragon is the chosen groom, when he comes to take up the marriage promise he gets scared and tries to back off. The Daughter tells him to man up, that she will marry him despite his weaknesses, and either states that she'll spoil him like a child in the meantime (original) or ask him to take care of her (''Refine'').

!!The Travelling Salesman/Chinese Orc

Three times in the game (when the Father has 1000, 2000 and 5000 gold), Cube will announce that a travelling salesman has arrived at the house and is offering expensive and mysterious exotic wares. Said wares are very expensive, but might be ''very'' good if the player chooses the right ones and gives them a good use.

----

* CollectorOfTheStrange: He has many weird things, which range from useless to ''very'' useful for the Daughter's stats.
* KickTheDog: It's all but stated that [[spoiler: he killed the Unicorn's friend to get its horn.]] He might have also [[spoiler:stolen the Spring Spirit's egg to use as a ring's jewel (consequently putting her oasis at danger)]], but it's not as clear.
* RuleOfThree: He shows up exactly three times in the whole game.

!!The Rivals (Marthia Shareweare, Patricia Hearn, Anita Cassandra, Wendy Lachesis)

-->'''Voiced by''': Fumie Kusachi (Marthia), Creator/FujikoTakimoto (Anita), Creator/ChiemiChiba (Wendy), Miyuki Matsushita (Patricia) (''PM 2'')

Either of these teenage girls shows up when the Daughter turns 14 and issues a challenge to her for the next Harvest Festival. Anita and Wendy want to beat her at Fighting or Magic, Patricia wants to be more popular than her by winning the Dancing Contest, and Marthia prefers to challenge her at the Cooking Festival.

----

* AlphaBitch: Patricia, the Social/Dancing rival, is a pretentious SpoiledBrat who wants to be more popular than the Daughter.
* AmbiguouslyBrown: Anita has noticeably darker skin than the other three girls, probably from constantly training to hone her fighting skills.
* ArrogantKungFuGuy: Anita, in a nutshell. She's a tough-as-nails ActionGirl who is very, ''very'' proud of her fighting skills and looks down on the Daughter a lot.
* CookingDuel: Marthia and the Daughter's showdown is basically this.
* DubNameChange: Marthia's name is sometimes spelled "Marcia" in ''Refine''.
* InsistentTerminology: The Magic Rival Wendy wants to be referred to as a ''Magical Girl'', thanks.
* ItsPersonal: When the Rival Girl of choice shows up after the Daughter's birthday and issues her challenge, the Daughter will take it as SeriousBusiness and her current Stress will go poof. Conversely, if the Festival arrives and the Father decides to send her to ''another'' contest rather than the one the Daughter was challenged to, she'll get depressed and her Stress will raise.
* JerkAss: The Social Rival Patricia and the Fighting Rival Anita are super arrogant and snooty.
* JerkassHasAPoint: If the Daughter wins the Dancing Contest when she's friends with the Minister, who doubles as the Dancing Judge, Patricia will wonder if the contest was fair at all. She might be right if the Daughter has low stats for the duel, but has such high favor with the Minister that she still wins anyway.
* MagicDuel: The daughter and Wendy (the Magic rival)'s showdown. Subverted as some fighting classes are also required to beat her, not only magical power.
* NoblewomansLaugh: As the local AlphaBitch, Patricia has a truly epic one.
* RelationshipValues: Sorta, since the Daughter's highest of her four prospect Reputations determines which girl will be her rival. i.e, to get Anita she must have Fighting Rep as the strongest one, a Daughter with high Social rep will clash with Patricia, and so on.
* ShrinkingViolet: The Housework/Cooking Rival, Marthia, is a very shy girl with a low self-esteem. Some players may feel like they're kicking a puppy if they have the Daughter win against her.
* SpoiledBrat:
** Patricia is notably the only rival who doesn't have a part-time job (Anita works at the weaponry store, Wendy at the pawn shop and Marthia at the restaurant), so she's implied to be wealthy enough to afford the very expensive painting and dancing classes.
** Anita accuses the Daughter of being one in her challenge, claiming that she only got her proto-fame as a fighter from her Daddy's reputation as the Hero who saved the Kingdom. The Daughter, logically, denies this gets ''very'' angry.
* TomboyishVoice: Averted with Anita, whose voice has a very high and girlish pitch.
* TookALevelInBadass:
** Anita and Wendy's stats ''will'' raise each year, so the Daughter may find herself in quite the predicament if she slacks off in fighting or magic.
** Patricia will also become a better dancer as time passes. If the Daughter is underprepared in the dancing fields, not even the Minister's favor may be able to help her.

!!The Townspeople (Deginzi, Dimitri, Ko, etc.) and their places

Since the Father's spending money is very limited and geared to mantain the house in general, the Daughter will need to get part-time jobs from these people from the very start of the game. They're usually more stressful than classes, and reduce some of her stats/skills in exchange of others. The older she gets, the more potential employers will be avaliable; plus if she works long enough at one job, her pay will be raised and she may get the chance to take it up as her permanent job.

----

* ApronMatron: Radamia the Nursemaid and Sara the Hairdresser dress and act like these.
* ChattyHairdresser: Averted with Sara, since there's no evidence of her being chatty at all. She seems to be more MarriedToTheJob than anything.
* CreepyCemetery: Baran the Gravekeeper handles one of these, and he can hire the Daughter to help him working there. [[spoiler: If she has good enough Fighting/Magic skills, a Skeleton Knight will challenge her and she'll have to defeat him, which will net her at least 2.000 gold.]]
* CuteKitten: A kitty hangs out with Radamia the daycare worker and the kids that hang out in the daycare.
* DirtyOldMan: Baron Tellmark owns the local Cabaret, and the Daughter can work there as a Cigarette Girl. If she does well-enough, she'll switch to a Dancer.
* GoodShepherd: Sister Lee is a kind and polite nun who runs the local Church. If a Daughter has accumulated quite a bit of Sin, donating to her temple or working for a while under her care will "cleanse" her.
* LocalHangout: Several of the Daughter's bosses handle these places, i.e the Bartender Dimitri (the only one who can raise the girl's Conversation/Speech) or Sam the owner of the Sleazy Bar.
* NiceGirl: Sister Lee again. Unlike other bosses/teachers who scold the player for not working/studying enough, she expresses concern and tells your daughter to take it easy.
* ParentalSubstitute: As the owner of a local daycare center, Radamia is this for the kids she watches over. Working under her will raise the Daughter's sensitivity ''and'' her maternal instinct.

!!The Teachers (Comstock, Carl Fox, Barcelo, Sister Lee, Leftor, Filkins, etc.)

These people give courses that the player pay money for to give the Daughter better stats/skills. They're not very stressful, usually raise stats and skills very fast, and sometimes give her items that she ''will'' need for later. They cost a lot of money, though...

----

* CoolOldGuy: Aside of the General (who teaches Strategy), both Bartholomew (Manners teacher) and Comstock (Poetry teacher) are rather sweet old men. The Writer ending has Comstock happily encouraging the Daughter to take this path.
* DrunkenMaster: Leftor is seen taking chugs from a bottle as he instructs the Daughter and other kids at his school.
* FlatEarthAtheist: Barcelo believes only in science and knowledge, and doesn't think highly of religion. This even affects the gameplay, since the Science classes (from the second level on) drain the Daughter of Faith and Magical Defense.
* HandicappedBadass: Carl Fox is blind, while Leftor lacks an eye and an arm. Neither stops fighting and teaching because of that, however.
* MellowFellow: Bartholomew, the manners teacher, is a humble, soft-speaking old man who always has a smile on his face.

!!The Other Fighters (Massal Halbar, Chan Kowloon, Jennifer the Queen, etc.)

All of these people show up at the Harvest Festival to participate in the Combat Contest alongside the Daughter, the fighting teachers Carl Fox and Leftor, and the rivals Anita and Wendy (if they're the Daughter's rival). Sometimes, however, they'll challenge the Daughter in the streets or try to take away the banner of Leftor's Fighting School. As a plus, the women in the list will also attend the Dance Party.

----

* ActionGirl: There are several women that can challenge the Daughter to fights: [[StripperIffic Natasha Dripsikova]], [[LadyInRed Jennifer the Queen]], [[AnimeChineseGirl Tao Lianfang]], [[RichBitch Francoise More]], etc.
* ContraltoOfDanger: Natasha is a very physical fighter and has the deepest voice out of all the {{action girl}}s that can challenge the Daughter.
* HornyVikings: Massal Halbar is a pirate leader and he dresses/fights like a stereotypical Viking.
* HotBlooded: Horst Heinmann is a very young knight who pretty much shouts when he shows up at the ring.
* IWasBeatenByAGirl: Near every guy (and some girls) that the Daughter defeats says this.
* MagicKnight: Salam Nasir fights with both his scimitar and his spells.
* {{Samurai}}: Katana Terror [[SamuraiPonytail looks]] and [[IaijutsuPractitioner fights]] like one.
* WeaponOfChoice: ''Several'' ones: [[HeroesPreferSwords simple swords]] (Horst, Francoise, Leftor, etc.), [[AnAxeToGrind axes]] (Massal Halbar), [[BladeOnAStick lances]] (Damu-Damu), [[WhipItGood whips]] (Jennifer), [[CombatHandFan throwing fans]] (Lianfang), [[CarryABigStick maces]] (Natasha), [[KatanasAreJustBetter katanas]] ([[MeaningfulName Katana Terror]]), etc.

!!The Spirits (Domovoi, Valtria, Paimon, Fay)
When the Daughter takes enough classes or jobs that increase their representing Reputation stats, she'll be visited by one of the four Spirits who would bless her and boost one of her stats per visit. Domovoi appears if she especializes in housemaking, Valtria visits if she's a rising fighter, Paimon blesses her social life and Fay gifts her with magic.

----

* AmplifierArtifact: Fay's last gift to the Daughter is a magical ring that gives her unlimited [=MP=], as long as she has 10 Intelligence points at minimum.
* DubNameChange: Valtria is known as Valkria in the ''Refine'' version.
* GenkiGirl: Fay is a cheerful woman who talks in a high-pitched sugary voice and consideres herself a CoolBigSis to those that study magic.
* HardWorkHardlyWorks: Averted.
** They came to increase a specific stat related to their area of expertise only if the Daughter has proven that she's devoted to it by raising their respectic Reputacion, either by studing or working.
** If the Daughter take a whole month of Magic class, Fay will visit regardless of Magical Reputacion and will increase a magic stat ''of the player's choice''.
* HouseFey: Domovoi is based in [[https://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Domovoi a Russian house fey]] that helps people that leave snacks for them with their chores.
* PassingTheTorch: Valkria's last gift to the Daughter is her very own sword, and she declares the Daughter is her "encarnation".
* OrgasmicallyDelicious: Domovoi's last gift to the Daughter is a bag of magic flour that makes every dish she cooks delicious.
* OurDemonsAreDifferent: Unlike other demons in the game, Paimon is a gentleman and even encourages the Daughter to don't be afraid of him, as he likes successful people and those that strive for that success in society. Justified in the Japanese version, where he refers himself as a "maijin" (a type of genie) instead of "akuma" (demon).
* SmellsSexy: Paimon's last gift to the Daughter is a perfume that attracts suitors likes flies to honey.
* {{Valkyries}}: The spirit who blesses fighters.

!!Adventure characters (The Elf, the Fairies, the Mermaid, etc.)

The Daughter can go into aventures in four places: the Eastern Forest, the Southern Lakes, the Northern Glaciers and the Western Desert. Aside of the aforementioned Dragons, she will meet different mythical creatures if she carries the correct items. Plus, she may meet some more either as enemies or outside these dangerous spots...

----

* AmplifierArtifact: The spirit of the Venus Necklace will increase the Daughter's Elegance/Refinement, Glamour/Charisma and Sensitivity on her birthday day.
* BarbieDollAnatomy: The Forest fairies and Spring Spirits are completely nude but lack any attributes.
* BodyToJewel:
** The Mermaid's Tears, which are dropped by Fishmen in the Riverside area. If the Daughter goes to the ocean while on a vacation with one, the Mermaid will increase the Daugther's Sensitivity and Glamour/Charisma in exchange for the tear.
** The Spirit Ring's jewel is actually the egg of the Spring Spirit that inhabites the oasis in the Desert area. Giving the ring will decrease the daughter's Elegance by 50, but her child will visit the family in a year and grant her Sensitivity (and ''2000g'') in exchange.
* ColdIron: The Elf will run away from the Daughter if she's wearing any iron sword or armoury. The only weaponry he's ok with is the Mirthil armor and sword, the leather armor and the wood club. (Or simply sending her out ''without'' any weapons or armor)
* DealWithTheDevil: If the daughter has a Demon Pendant and camps near a certain cave in the Desert, a demon will show up. He'll notice the pendant and ask her for it: he'll offer a magic spell that will raise her stats in exchange at first, if refused he'll offer some money, and if she keeps refusing he'll fight her. Taking up the offer is the best option: he'll use his "Cirche's Charm" spell to raise the girl's Magic Attack, Glamour ''and¿¿ Refinement (though at the expense of dropping her Morals to ''zero'', so it's best to include some Church work in her agenda soon).
* EquivalentExchange: The Elf will ''permanently'' decrease the Daughter's Combat skill in exchange of increasing by 5 all her Magical stats.
* OurFairiesAreDifferent:
** The Forest fairies are the typical pixie-like kind.
** The Spring Spirits spawn an egg in their 99 year and on their 100 year they die, leaving the responsability of keeping their spring alive to their child; the Spring child has wings but shead them after a year in order to stay on their spring for the rest of their days.
** Kei Shin is a cat spirit that can cast a spell to benefit the Daughter's body height or weight in exchange for a Cat's Eye jewel.
** The Spirit of the Venus Necklace also looks like a pixie-like fairy.
* OurMermaidsAreDifferent: The saltwater Mermaid is the typical kind and beautiful mermaid, different from the agressive Black Mermaid/Fetchfish that can be found in the Riverside area. She'll even point out the differences when she speaks to the Daughter.
* SupernaturallyDeliciousAndNutritious: If the daughter wins the cooking contest, she'll also win a Paradise Bird's egg. If the egg is left to hatch, the Paradise Chick explains that, while the birds can live for a thousand years, people take their eggs for their flavor and health propieties; he'll then raise the Daughter's Sensitivity before leaving. If the egg is consumed, the daughter's Stamina gets a significant boost...[[BlackComedy while crying for the poor creature's fate and how tasty it is]].
* {{Unicorn}}: If the Daughter uses the Unicorn's Flute in the Forest area, she will encounter one. It'll ask the flute because it was made with the horn of a friend [[spoiler: almost surely hunted down by the Chinese Orc]]. If the Daughter accepts, the creature will increase her Sensitivity; if not, he'll curse her and decrease it ''by half''.
