* DisappearedDad: After the war he moved back to Germany, married a local woman, and started a new family. He wants to pretend his first child never existed, and when he gives you help at the end he makes it contingent on you staying away from him and not suing for child support.

* RetiredMonster: Discussed. The child expresses a fear that their biological father was a ‘bad guy’. While Anne thought he was a good man, we never find out for sure if he was a Nazi or a war criminal.
