* DarkAndTroubledPast: He was hit in a car accident in the real world. Though he survived, he became confined to a wheelchair and had to give up his dream of playing soccer. Hence why when he finds himself in the world of Elder Tale, he is excited to be here as he can walk again, even if only virtually.

* [[NiceGuy Nice Girl]]: Minori is a kind and polite girl at heart, and she sees Akatsuki as a friend despite the love rivalry for Shiroe.

* DespairEventHorizon: Post-Catastrophe. It's the main reason why she was so easily enticed to join Hamelin.

* TheAtoner: [[spoiler: When he sees Shiroe's plan to improve Akihabara succeed and the people of the city finally happy, he deeply regrets his own petty decision to not take part in the Round Table Council and goes into self-exile.]]
* BrokenPedestal: [[spoiler: His feelings towards the Debauchery Tea Party. He was a young player when the DTP was active, and aspired to become one of them. However, by the time he finally hit level 90 and could join them, TheFellowshipHasEnded, leaving him feeling betrayed. Since then, he has held resentment in his heart towards the group and has raided nonstop out of a desire of achieving the same greatness as the DTP.]]

* DespairSpeech: [[spoiler: Combined with RousingSpeech and a version of DoNotGoGentle. After the raid party, even with battle geniuses William and Shiroe, wipes in less than a minute due to three Raid Bosses ganging up on them, William reveals his entire motivation for fighting on even when most of the rest of his guild has given up raiding. It involves him screaming and revealing his whole hatred towards the DTP for disbanding before he could join. The rest of the raid party decide to follow him back to the Raid Quest even after being completely wiped with no hope for success the first time around.]]
* MyGreatestFailure: In episode 10 of season 2, Demikas asks what's the point of trying again after being wiped out during their raid, and simply not running away. [[spoiler:William then reveals to them that he ran away once, and regretted it immensely. He didn't bother joining Shiroe when the latter was first coming up with the concept of the Round Table Council in Akihabara, figuring it was [[BystanderSyndrome Someone Elses Problem]], and that he wanted to raid more than anything else. Then he hears about how successful Shiroe was in making the Round Table work, and how it turned around Akihabara into a fairly prosperous city. Hence why when Shiroe once again asked for his help in Susukino, he immediately agreed to it without question.]]

Nureha is the last of the three "main heroines" of Log Horizon, after Akatsuki and Minori.

** Played straight later. After bonding with Tohya's party for the short time she traveled with them as Dariella, she has Roreil order all Plant Hwyaden members in the area help destroy the Wyverns, and orders Kazuhiko to stop Mizufa's attack.

* BrokenBird: She had an ''extremely'' unpleasant life outside of Elder Tale.

* HauntedHeroine: A possible interpretation for her constant nightmares [[spoiler:as she seems to believe that the shadows she sees are the spirits of the adventurers she blacklisted inside the Cathedral]].
* IHaveThisFriend: How she explains her backstory to Shiroe. After claiming it's her own history, she abruptly claims it happened to "someone she knew".

* ProperLady: Projects a persona of elegance and sophistication. [[spoiler:It's a front and Indicus uses her true "tainted" nature to manipulate her.]]

* VillainessesWantHeroes: An extremely unsubtle example. In book 5's interlude, she repeatedly tells him how much she wants to get him in bed. The anime is far, ''far'' more subtle by comparison.

* WeCanRuleTogether: What she tries to do with Shiroe. She makes it clear that she doesn't just want him on her side, she wants to ''rock his world'' at the same time.

* BadassCape: Like Isaac, he sports one over his armor.

* TheBerserker: Krusty's Guardian build, subclass, and equipment, all give him this theme.

* TheStrategist: Like Shiroe, he's capable of reading his opponents and manipulate them into moving exactly the way he wants. The difference between the two is that Shiroe excels at long term planning, whereas Krusty excels in the short term. He's also a brilliant commander and one of twenty Japanese players with any experience commanding legion-level raids (4x raids of 24x people each).

* YoungerThanTheyLook: While she looks like a serious and mature young woman, her attitude and shyness makes Henrietta suspect that she is this.

A PK-Guild [[spoiler:(or at least they try to be)]]. Represented by a Samurai (Katsuomaru), two Swashbucklers (Smash and [[TheChick Rikopin]]), a Druid (Stroganopp), plus a [[PutOnABus Sorcerer and a Summoner]]. Show up ''all the damn time'' with little one-offs and side commentary.

Guildmaster of the 8th District Shopping Center, the third largest of the production guilds based in Akihabara. He and Maryelle go ways back, having started out and partied together as beginners, and still are on good terms, despite the difference in scale and focus of their guilds. In reality, the guild is a large gathering of casual players whom enjoy chatting with one another and being merchants. Charasin was elected as their representitive.

* TheFace: As his guild is basically place for chatting thus non-formal guild, he is this as their representative.

* FacialMarkings: Due to being a member of the Race of Ritual.

* SummonMagic: His class but he doesn't use it as often as other summoners like [=Roe2=].

* TearsOfRemorse: [[spoiler: After his HeelFaceTurn.]]

When he learns that Shiroe returned to Suzukino, he initially confronts him at the Silver Swords guildhouse, but after he learns about his plan to tackle the Abyssal Shaft, tags along the raid team, in the hopes of finding the opportunity to humiliate him as payback for all the misfortune he'd experienced.

* AttackAttackAttack: His preferred default behavior. He is almost always seen punching or kicking someone or something when the camera focuses on him.

** [[spoiler:In the anime, Shiroe and Nyanta bring his HP down to one by combining the power their respective skills. He can't accept that he's outmatched and tries to attack Shiroe, but Serara hits him in the middle of his attack, knocking the last of his HP. That's right: ''he's technically defeated by a Healer-type character he's been bullying''! Note that Shiroe and Nyanta's combo kills him outright in the novels.]]

* TokenEvilTeammate: Becomes this to the rest of the Abyssal Shaft raid group because of his nastiness, and the fact that he wasn't part of them pre-Apocalypse and so doesn't have the same bond

* EyePoke: Does this to Krusty once for scaring her friends by acting like a PK. Hilariously, it doesn't work because Krusty's defensive stats is just too high and she's a SquishyWizard. It just ends up hurting her fingers. She ''does'' get her revenge in the special countdown comics leading to the publishing of volume 1 of the manga.

* TheVoiceless: Until she changed her appearance, Akatsuki cannot hide her distinctly feminine voice, so she refused to speak out of fear of VocalDissonance. Thus, she owes Shiroe greatly for allowing her to look more feminine.

* WhyCantIHateYou: Toward Minori. Upon seeing how devoted Minori is to Shiroe, and how hard she works to help him, Akatsuki feels immensely jealous, but can't help but praise the girl for being such a fantastic girl that any guy would be lucky to have. Akatsuki berates herself for failing to meet her own lofty expectations and wonders if she's even worthy of trying to get Shiroe's attention.

* InSeriesNickname: Raynesia calls some variation on "monster", i.e. "mind reading monster", "mean monster" and "monster in glasses".

* SlasherSmile: More apparent in the anime, during the duration of the Return of the Goblin King event.
