Missed a couple things.

Ahri is a mage-assassin champion adept at using her high mobility to draw out and pick off key enemy targets, while being able to damage multiple targets at once. Her passive, ''Essence Theft'', grants Ahri up to three charges for each enemy struck by one of her spells, making her next spell heal her for a small amount per enemy hit when she reaches nine charges. Her first ability, ''Orb of Deception'', sends out a magic orb and then pulls it back, dealing magic damage on the way out and unblockable true damage on the way back. Her second ability, ''Fox Fire'', releases three spirit flames that orbit around Ahri, each then locking into and striking a nearby enemy target, damaging them. With her third ability, ''Charm'', Ahri blows a kiss that damages and charms the first enemy hit in a line forward, forcing them to walk towards Ahri in a trance and increasing the damage she deals to them for a short duration. Her ultimate ability, ''Spirit Rush'', allows Ahri to dash a short distance up to three times in a few seconds, each dash releasing three bolts of energy that damage the three closest enemy champions.

* DifficultButAwesome: Ahri depends heavily on landing her Charm spell to burst down her target or assassinate them, which is a (relatively) short-ranged skillshot that can be blocked by minions and gives a fairly obvious warning. Good Ahri players can keep opponents on their toes by using tricks to unexpectedly Charm them such as firing an Orb of Deception then a Charm in quick succession to clear the minion(s) shielding her target before the latter lands. Another one is unexpectedly using Spirit Rush to dash to another position unblocked by minions so that she can quickly cast Charm before her opponent reacts.

** To the plant champion, Zyra. The two champions have completely different playstyles (Ahri is the supreme example of a mage ganker, scaling better than Leblanc and not being limited to melee like Kassadin, while Zyra is the supreme example of a mage pusher, having better utility than the [=AoE=] pushers like Brand while having the ability to place turrets at long range unlike Heimerdinger), their two stories are almost exactly the same in terms of progression while being utterly opposite in terms of motivation. And finally, they're from opposite ends of the alphabet (before the release of Aatrox, Ahri was the alphabetically first champion on the League roster, while Zyra is the last). Ironically, the two go head-to-head in the "A New Dawn" cinematic (Ahri wins).

General editing. Gonna be a bunch of these.

An ancient warrior of a mysterious race of winged beings known as the Darkin. Aatrox is a legendary figure appearing in the histories of nearly every culture on Valoran, known for lending his aid to failing armies and leading them to victories against utterly impossible odds. The earliest account of him tells of a war between two ancient factions known only as the the Protectorate and the Magelords. Appearing before the Protectorate after a series of crushing defeats, Aatrox rallied the remaining soldiers into a murderous frenzy with his displays of graceful brutality. Aatrox vanished after the first battle, but his influence led the Protectorate army towards amazing victories against its Magelord opponents. It was not until the war was over and their rage spent that the Protectorate soldiers realized the atrocious crimes they committed against their enemies. Now seemingly back to make his mark on history once more, Aatrox has joined the League to influence the greatest war of this time.

Aatrox is a fighter-tank champion meant for a hyper-offensive and self-destructive playstyle, leaping in on enemy teams and leaving utter annihilation in his wake. Instead of mana, his abilities cost health to cast. His passive ''Blood Well'' stores the health cost from his abilities in a reserve health pool, increasing his attack speed based on how full the pool is and healing Aatrox upon death for an amount equal to the one stored. His first ability, ''Dark Flight'', makes Aatrox leap towards a nearby area, damaging all surrounding enemies and knocking up those closer to the landing point. His second ability, ''Blood Thirst'', is a passive skill that restores health every third attack, and can be toggled on to become ''Blood Price'' and instead grant bonus damage every third attack at the cost of health. His third ability, ''Blades of Torment'', releases a converging wave of energy from his sword, damaging and slowing enemies in front of him. His ultimate ability, ''Massacre'', drains the blood from all nearby foes, damaging enemies in an area around Aatrox and granting him an attack range and attack speed bonus for a few seconds.

* AttackAttackAttack: He has a very aggressive kit and is in many situations better off forcing a fight with his lane opponent than he is at just trying to poke them. In addition, he can survive situations anyone else would have died from thanks to his Blood Thirst, meaning that you can live by fighting as opposed to fleeing.

* DarkIsNotEvil: Subverted--he appears to the losing side and grants them the strength to win, almost like an angel of victory...then has the winning side proceed to commit massacres (bordering on genocide) against their enemies. The first part is the reason he seems to have such favor with nearly every culture in Valoran. The second part is why Noxus (ironically the most naturally warlike city-state in the League) seems to view him less favorably, being the victims of one such massacre.
** LightIsNotGood: His Justicar skin. However, this is [[ZigZaggedTrope Zig-zagged]] since according to WordOfGod, Justicar Aatrox is meant to resemble Aatrox through the depictions of him by the people whom he saved.
* {{Determinator}}: Gameplay-wise, his passive and his life-restoring Blood Thirst lets him keep fighting through situations that would have long since forced other champions to turn and run- and possibly win.

* GameplayAndStorySegregation: His lore makes him out as a warlord who appears out of nowhere and induces a frenzied bloodlust in the losing side who then proceed to win against all odds, while his kit is that of a generic bruiser/jungler. It has been stated by the developers that the Aatrox players should be the ones acting as that warlord.

Brand is an ancient elemental force of flame whose only motivation for existance is searing, burning and destroying everything around itself. Once sealed in an ice prison inside a cave full of runic inscriptions in the far North, it was found by Kegan Rodhe, a marauder and raider from Lokfar. The hypnotic power of the flames led Kegan to foolishly touch the ice prison, disrupting the sealing spell and allowing Brand to possess his body. Freed after centuries of imprisonment, the furious Brand unleashed his fiery vengeance over the world once again until he was overwhelmed and captured by Demacian forces that gave him a choice: either join the League and fight in its confines or be destroyed. Now Brand remains sealed in the Institute of War within a magical barrer while he's not fightning, continuously plotting his vengeance on the Summoners who dare contain him.

Aatrox is a fighter-tank champion meant for a hyper-offensive and self-destructive playstyle, leaping in on enemy teams and leaving utter annihilation in his wake. Instead of mana, his abilities cost health to cast. His passive ''Blood Well'' stores the health cost from his abilities in a reserve health pool, increasing his attack speed based on how full the pool is and healing Aatrox upon death. His first ability, ''Dark Flight'', makes him leap towards a nearby area, damaging enemies and knocking up those closer to the landing point. His second ability, ''Blood Thirst'', is a passive skill that restores health every third attack, and can be toggled on to become ''Blood Price'' and instead grant bonus damage every third attack at the cost of health. His ultimate ability, ''Massacre'', drains the blood from nearby foes, damaging enemies in an area around Aatrox and granting him an attack range and speed buff for a duration.

With her second ability, ''Yordle Snap Trap'', Caitlyn lays down a bear trap that will reveal, damage and briefly immobilize any enemy champion that walks over it. Her third ability, ''90 Caliber Net'', fires a large trawl net from her rifle that damages and slows the first enemy hit in a line, while also pushing Caitlyn backwards from the recoil. Her ultimate ability, ''Ace in the Hole'', targets a single enemy champion in a humongous range around Caitlyn and, after a brief delay, fires a highly damaging sniper shot at a single enemy champion from a ridiculous range, but them. However, the bullet can be intercepted by another enemy champion mid-flight.

Cho'Gath is a tank-mage champion who disrupts the battlefield and literally devours squishy foes to become an unkillable behemoth. His passive, ''Carnivore'', restores a small amount of health and mana whenever he kills an enemy unit. His first ability, ''Rupture'', makes spikes emerge from the ground at a target location, knocking up, damaging and slowing enemies in the area after a small delay. His second ability, ''Feral Scream'', damages and silences enemies in a cone with a terrifying roar. His third ability, ''Vorpal Spikes'', is a toggleable buff that makes Cho'gath's basic attacks eject spikes that damage enemies in a small line in front of him. His ultimate ability, ''Feast'', devours a nearby enemy, dealing a huge amount of true, unblockable damage and granting him a stack if it kills them. Each stack increases Cho'gath's health and size, transforming him a full-fledged giant monster when it fully stacks.

His first ability, ''Phosphorus Bomb'', launches a flare that damages and reveals all enemies in a nearby area. With his second ability, ''Valkyrie'', Corki's gyrocopter makes a quick aerial dash that also leaves behind a burning napalm trail. His third ability, ''Gatling Gun'', fires the gyrocopter's machine gun for a few seconds, continuously damaging and reducing the armor of enemies in a cone in front of him. His ultimate ability, ''Missile Barrage'', stockpiles missiles every few seconds, that can be fired and explode upon contact with an enemy, damaging them and all other surrounding enemies. [[caption-width-right:116:[-[[http://images.wikia.com/leagueoflegends/images/4/4a/Aatrox_Select.ogg This battle will be my masterpiece.]]-] ]]

-> '''Voiced by:''' Erik Ireland

->''"Some fight for honor, some fight for glory. It matters only that you fight."''

His third ability, ''Blades of Torment'', releases a converging wave of energy from his sword, damaging and slowing enemies in front of him. His ultimate ability, ''Massacre'', drains the blood from nearby foes, damaging enemies in an area around Aatrox and granting him an attack range and speed buff for a duration.

Aatrox's alternate skins include [[LightEmUp Justicar Aatrox]].

'''Associated tropes:'''

* {{Badass}}: You know you're dealing with a badass when his presence alone can singlehandedly turn a war in the favour of the losing group.
** BadassArmy: Whenever he shows up in front of a losing army, he turns them into this.
** DareToBeBadass: Bids the dying army to keep fighting until the end. His taunts in-game are this to the enemy team.
* {{BFS}}: Wield with one hand, to be exact. It gets even larger upon his ult being activated for a time.
* BigDamnHeroes: Of sorts, depending on how you look at him. He regularly did this throughout history, entirely on his own. It always worked.
* BloodKnight: His philosophy is all about fighting for fighting's sake. He instills this mentality in those he assists as well.
* BloodMagic: Two of Aatrox's skills, plus his passive, rely on blood. Even the two skills Aatrox has that don't seem to have anything to do with blood still cost health to cast.
* BackFromTheDead: Aatrox's passive, which stores a portion of the health spent on his other abilities and revives him with the total stored amount, plus a bonus, when his HP hits zero.
* BeenThereShapedHistory: In terms of Valoran's history. He appears in countless folk tales, as well as in the iconography of some of the continent's leading city-states.
* CastFromHitPoints: Along the lines of Mordekaiser, Aatrox uses his own health to cast his abilities instead of mana, empowering a second defensive resource.
* CombatAestheticist: Of a sort. Some of his quotes seem to imply he sees war and combat as a form of art. Just look at his selection quote above.
* CoolSword: It seems composed of bat-like segments that can extend and retract, and the entire thing glows a bloody red. Even more so when using his ultimate.
* CulturedWarrior: ''[[http://images.wikia.com/leagueoflegends/images/0/02/Aatrox.attack10.ogg He quotes Do Not Go Gentle Into That Good Night.]]''
* {{Expy}}: Of [[WarhammerFantasy Khorne]]. Both like fighting for it's own sake and are associated with bloodshed.
* FanOfUnderdog: Certainly not one of the usual examples; he always fights with the losing side, turning a lost cause into a total victory.
* FriendlessBackground: About the ''only'' character in the League to have ''no friends at all''. Only a rival, in Tryndamere.
** EmotionBomb: Appears to invoke one of the [[UnstoppableRage anger]] variety in the soldiers to whom he lends aid, turning them into furious killing machines.
** UnstoppableRage: Instills this in the armies he aids.
** WarIsHell: The effect his "help" has on warriors after their victory, with an added MyGodWhatHaveIDone.
* GroundShatteringLanding: Anyone standing exactly where he crash-lands with Dark Flight will be sent flying.
* ICanStillFight: Even after his Blood Well has been used, Aatrox is very resilient in a straight-up fight because his Blood Thirst healing is significantly increased when he reaches less than 50% health. As such, confident Aatrox players may choose to duke it out in a situation where anyone else would be running for their lives.
* LastOfHisKind: Played with. He's one of the last five, anyway.
* LightningBruiser: With sky-high life gain and great attack speed buffs coupled with a decent amount of natural bulk, don't expect to stop him once he's got a few items under his belt.
* LivingLegend: Literally. He has been a figure of power in Valoran for centuries, and revered both in Demacia and Noxus, as reflected in their art and literature. Then he shows up in the Institute of War to join in a group where arguably, he is the greatest example of, the ''League of Legends''.
* LivingWeapon: His sword is described as being a seemingly living blade that drinks the blood of his foes.
* NamesToRunAwayFromReallyFast: It comes from "atrocity".
* NinetiesAntiHero: If he even IS a hero, he's one of the most delibrate examples in the game. All he lacks are pouches and a gun.
* PowerFloats: A side effect of his ultimate.
* PrettyBoy: He's ''remarkably'' feminine for such a demonic being, with a slender build and a smooth face. WordOfGod states they intentionally designed him as such to emphasize his skill and grace in combat.
* Really700YearsOld
* RousingSpeech: Seems to be a fan of this kind of rhetoric, given how his taunts are more darkly inspiring than insulting.
--> ''[[http://images.wikia.com/leagueoflegends/images/2/21/Aatrox.taunt03.ogg "Even those who have nothing can give their lives."]]''
* TheSouthPaw: Seen carrying the blade in his left hand.
* TranquilFury: His voice is really level when talking so much about combat, killing, and war, and even in the participation of said combat, killing, and war. Not even the lines he has when using his ultimate are any louder.
* WarriorPoet: He enjoys battle as an artform and philosophy, and he's very poetic about it.
* WickedCultured: See CulturedWarrior.
* WingedHumanoid: [[GoodWingsEvilWings With a pair of glowing, demonic wings.]]
* WhyWontYouDie: To properly kill him, one must deplete his health bar ''and'' the life restored to him from Blood Well after he "dies" the first time.

->''"Mercy is a human luxury, and responsibility.”''

A magical fox from Ionia who longed to be human. While scavenging a sundered battlefield left by the Noxian invasion of Ionia, she found a dying mage and absorbed his life essence, giving her a humanoid form, but still leaving her incomplete. She used her magical powers and her seductive charm to absorb the energies of more men in an effort to complete her transformation, but she soon discovered another aspect of humanity that she had gained: a conscience. Filled with regret, Ahri turned to the League, where she hoped to find a way to achieve her humanity without taking the lives of innocents.

Ahri is a mage-assassin champion adept at using her high mobility to draw out and pick off key enemy targets, while being able to damage multiple targets at once. Her passive, ''Essence Theft'', grants her a charge whenever her spells hit an enemy, making her next spell heal her for a percentage of the damage dealt when she reaches nine charges. Her first ability, ''Orb of Deception'', sends out a magic orb and then pulls it back, dealing magic damage on the way out and unblockable true damage on the way back. Her second ability, ''Fox Fire'', released three spirit flames that orbitate around her, each then locking into and striking a nearby enemy target. With her third ability, ''Charm'', she blows a kiss that damages and charms the first enemy hit, forcing them to walk towards Ahri in a trance and increasing the damage she deals to them for a short duration. Her ultimate ability, ''Spirit Rush'', allows Ahri to dash a short distance up to three times in a few seconds, each dash releasing three bolts of energy that damage the three closest enemy champions.

Ahri's alternate skins include Dynasty Ahri, [[PaintItBlack Midnight Ahri]], [[PlayingWithFire Foxfire Ahri]] and [[IdolSinger Popstar Ahri]].

'''Associated tropes:'''

* AscendedMeme: Popstar Ahri started out as a heavily-supported request for a GirlsGeneration Ahri skin, although [[http://oce.leagueoflegends.com/sites/default/files/styles/scale_xlarge/public/upload/pahri-articlebanner.jpg?itok=Zpnh_w0f the end result]] was radically different from [[http://fc03.deviantart.net/fs71/i/2013/131/5/f/girls_generation_ahri_by_dumke-d64v9la.png the originally suggested design]].
* CharmPerson: Her unique form of crowd control.
* CunningLikeAFox: Clever enough to figure out how to use her charms and her human appearance to lure in men and steal their essence.
* DetachedSleeves: How they stay on is anyone's guess.
* DoesThisRemindYouOfAnything: Her death cries sound more like... [[OrgasmicCombat something that's not dying]].
* EvenTheGirlsWantHer: Or if they don't, she can [[CharmPerson make them]].
* FacialMarkings: The whisker-like marks on her cheeks.
* FantasticFoxes: She was already magical before she absorbed the life force of a dying mage, granting her even more magical ability.
* FemmeFatale: The straightest example in the game, although she's trying to reform.
* {{Foil}}:
** Also to fellow Ionian champion, Syndra. In battle, Syndra controls multiple balls of darkness while Ahri uses a single orb of light. Both of their kits focus a lot on [[RuleOfThree the number three]], and disrupting/manipulating enemies. And to top it off, they both dance to hit K-Pop songs by [[GirlsGeneration SNSD]].
** Finally, to Warwick: Warwick is a tanky fighter who loves his bestial form, while Ahri is an AP assassin who's trying to become fully human.
* GameplayAndStoryIntegration: Who else in the League of Legends would have a [[CharmPerson Charm spell]] and a soul-consuming passive if not TheVamp?
* HeelRealization[=/=]MyGodWhatHaveIDone: After stealing quite a bit of human essence, she became human enough to realize that what she was doing was wrong.
* HoneyTrap: Well, she had powerful charm magic to help her out with that, but she invoked this to get unsuspecting men to come close to her.
* HornyDevils: Her lore and FemmeFatale attitude allude this being the life-harvesting method she's trying to drop.
* {{Kitsune}}: Although referred to in development as a Gumiho, the Korean equivalent, hence her vampiric nature.
* ImpossiblyLowNeckline: Shows off her cleavage quite a bit.
* LittleBitBeastly: Has very noticeable whisker marks on her cheeks, as well as the obvious fox ears and tails.
* MagikarpPower: A lesser example as Ahri is actually reasonably strong even at low levels, but if she starts to pick up a few kills she can rapidly snowball out of control. Her insane mobility, impressive burst, devastating sustained damage and powerful CC means a fed Ahri can devour ''entire teams''.
* MeaningfulName: A poll was held on the Korean [=LoL=] webpage to decide on her name, choosing from a list of 6 options. The vote eventually went to ''Ari'' (아리) which means "graceful" or "elegant" and it was adapted to "Ahri" for the English release.
* MsFanservice: Between her short skirt, low-cut top and [[LittleBitBeastly kemonomimi]], Ahri immediately shot ''straight'' to the top of the "most desirable girls in the League" lists (as confirmed by [[http://na.leagueoflegends.com/board/showthread.php?t=2844467 a recent forum poll]]). Which may be somewhat justified, given her nature.
** To wit, she is ''so attractive'' that the sheer amount of [[DistractedByTheSexy sexiness]] she puts out is a canonically-accepted [[GameplayAndStoryIntegration game mechanic.]] [[UpToEleven Even]] [[CampGay Taric]] [[UpToEleven can find her attractive.]]
* MultipleTailedBeast: Duh, nine of them, it's her ''title''.
* OrgasmicCombat: Perhaps not the fighting itself, but [[http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=HHmf2PNmPjc#t=0h0m13s her death cries]] deserve special mention.
* OurVampiresAreDifferent: She's essentially an energy vampire.
* PlayingWithFire: They're probably {{Faux Flame}}s, but hell if that matters; they work just fine. Her Foxfire skin also counts as this.
* PrehensileTail: She moves her tails with amazing dexterity on her emotes.
* RuleOfThree: '''Three''' of her skills use this rule.
** First, her innate Essence Theft activates her spellvamp passive after hitting nine enemies, up to a maximum of three per spell casted; in short it takes a minimum of '''three''' spells to activate this skill, or '''3x3'''.
** Second, Fox-Fire summons '''three''' fireballs around her that will home in to the nearest enemy unit.
** '''Third''', her ultimate, Spirit Rush, allows her to dash to a target area up to '''three''' times, sending out flares that target up to '''three''' enemy units.
* SexIsViolence: She's a deadly mage-assassin reliant on a heart-shaped Charm spell with a seduction-heavy theme and backstory. Even her death cry [[OrgasmicCombat sounds erotic]] and several of her lines are [[DoubleEntendre Double Entendres]] that can be interpreted as either flirting or an implied threat.
-->''[[http://images.wikia.com/leagueoflegends/images/a/ab/Ahri.taunt.ogg Should I make your pulse rise~? Or... STOP? *giggles*]]''
* SupernaturalGoldEyes: As can be plainly seen in her character portrait above.
* TransNature: She was a fox that wanted to become human. Now she's a magical hybrid with the ability to become more and more human. However, her method of doing this involved killing people, and as she became closer to human the morality of this started to bother her, leading to her joining the League to find an alternative method.
* TheVamp: She was able to lure men with her beauty and charm to drain their life. One of her skills (Charm) actually uses this. Also works as a {{pun}}.
** Averted in the present day, though; as her humanity grew, so did her sense of right and wrong. She now better fits the FemmeFatale trope.
* VideogameDashing: Her ultimate. Having a dash ability isn't exactly unheard of in the League of Legends, but Ahri uniquely has up to three in exchange for one spell cooldown.

[[caption-width-right:116:[-[[http://images.wikia.com/leagueoflegends/images/e/ec/Akali_Select.ogg As balance dictates.]]-] ]]

->''"The Fist of Shadow strikes from the cover of death itself. Do not impede the balance."''

A member of the Kinkou, an Ionian order dedicated to maintaining perfect balance. She is a martial artist and followed in her mother's footsteps, inheriting the "Fist of Shadow" title from her. The Kinkou's duty is to assassinate people according to portents their culture perceives in the stars to maintain the order of the world, and she works with the other two "shadow warriors," Kennen and Shen, to accomplish this.

Akali is an assassin champion who specializes in using mobility to relentlessly chase down and eliminate single enemies at a time. Like the other ninja champions, she uses a fixed Energy Meter as a resource instead of mana. Her passive, ''Twin Disciplines'', grants her two different bonuses: ''Discipline of Force'' allows her basic attacks to deal bonus magic damage equal to a percentage of her magical power, and ''Discipline of Might'' allows her abilities to heal her for a portion of the damage dealt equal to a percentage of her physical power. Her first ability, ''Mark of the Assasin'', throws one of her kama at an enemy, damaging them and placing a mark on them that will be consumed with her next basic attack, dealing bonus damage. Her second ability, ''Twilight Shroud'', creates a temporary cloud of smoke in a nearby area, slowing enemies inside, making Akali invisible and granting her bonus defensive stats while she stays inside. With her third ability, ''Crescent Slash'', she slashes all nearby opponents with her kamas. Her ultimate ability, ''Shadow Dance'', allows Akali to store up to three ''Essences of Shadow'' that can be expended to launch herself at an enemy target with a flying kick. Akali periodically gains ''Essences of Shadow'', but also gains one when she kills or helps kill an enemy champion.

Akali's alternate skins include [[Film/KillBill Stinger Akali]], Crimson Akali, [[TheBeautifulGame All-Star Akali]], [[HelloNurse Nurse Akali]], [[VideoGame/NinjaGaiden Silverfang Akali]], and Blood Moon Akali.

'''Associated tropes:'''

* AchillesHeel: Anything that can reveal invisible units makes her very vulnerable when using Twilight Shroud to maneuver or escape. Any team can accomplish this with the Sweeper Trinket or Vision Wards to limited degrees though she's really out of luck if enemy champions have anti-stealth abilities like Lee Sin, Rengar, or Twisted Fate.
* ActionGirl: A deadly ninja warrior, skilled in stealth and assassination.
* AncientTradition: Acts as the Fist of Shadow in the Kinkou order.
* BreakingTheFourthWall[=/=]MediumAwareness:
-->''[[http://images.wikia.com/leagueoflegends/images/e/e2/Akali.joke.ogg So many noobs. Will matchmaking ever find true balance?]]''
* ConservationOfNinjutsu: An inherent rule built into the game. Ninja champions have one less point of health (out of, at minimum, a few hundred) per other ninja in the match.
* CoolMask: Featured in her Blood Moon Akali skin. But rather than wearing it over her face, she keeps it pushed onto the top of her head.
* EverythingIsBetterWithSpinning: Crescent Slash has her spin both of her kama.
* TheFaceless: Ultimately averted, as two skins have been released which show her face.
* {{Fanservice}}: [[http://images.wikia.com/leagueoflegends/images/d/dc/Akali_concept.jpg This]] is concept art released as a preview. [[http://images3.wikia.nocookie.net/__cb20100506204211/leagueoflegends/images/f/f7/Akali_OriginalSkin.jpg This]] is her final design after fan criticism.
* FragileSpeedster: Akali might be fragile, but good luck ''catching'' her before she kills you, between her uses of Shadow Dance to quickly rush from target to target and Shroud of Twilight to get out of a bad situation.
* GlassCannon: A fed Akali will shred through your squishy teammates faster than you can blink... and falls just as easily if she gets focused (though her smokebomb shroud can get her out of a sticky situation).
* GameplayAndStorySegregation: People have complained that the Kinkou don't play the way {{ninja}} would be expected to. While this is not untrue (see the next entry down), other champions (Shaco and Evelynn) got to that playstyle first.
* HighlyVisibleNinja: She does get a smoke bomb to conceal herself and slow all enemies in it, but other than that her stealth abilities are limited to hiding in the tall grass scattered around the maps, which ''all'' champions can do. [[http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Pirates_versus_Ninjas Including the pirate]].
* HybridPower: Scales well with both AD and AP, making hybrid items like Hextech Gunblade very useful on her. This is further emphasized by her Twin Disciplines passive, which lets her AP boost her attacks as bonus magic damage and her AD benefit her abilities by giving spell vamp.
* InstantAwesomeJustAddNinja: She's a ''flippin' ninja!''
* KillSteal: As an assassin, of course she throws a lot of stuff out at once and bursts enemies down so naturally assassins will run in and KillSteal. Akali however seems ''programmed'' to receive kills no matter what. It's been said that she can just sit back and dance during a team fight and receive a pentakill.
* MagikarpPower: Weak before she hits level 6 but once she is, [[PunctuatedForEmphasis Do.]] [[PunctuatedForEmphasis Not.]] [[PunctuatedForEmphasis Feed.]] [[PunctuatedForEmphasis Her.]] Teams that do and let her snowball out of control learn the hard way.
* MsFanservice: Not as blatant as the likes of Miss Fortune, but memetically considered one of the most desirable characters in the game by the fanbase.
* NaughtyNurseOutfit: One of her skins.
* {{Ninja}}: A ''flippin''' one!
* OneManArmy: Once she's got her core items, there's not much you can do to stop a good Akali.
* PassingTheTorch: She inherited the "Fist of Shadow" title from her mother.
* PowerTrio: With Kennen and Shen.
* RapunzelHair: She has an exceptionally long ponytail.
* {{Sideboob}}: Prominently featured on her basic skin.
* SmokeOut: Her Twilight Shroud uses a smokebomb- though enemies' vision is mostly unobstructed, they just can't see ''her''.
* TheSpock: Her role as the Fist of Shadow has her "...do that which must be done." in her role to preserve balance. It's said what she's done wouldn't necessarily be considered morally acceptable. She's also on the trio who advocates that Zed crossed the MoralEventHorizon and needs to die, period, which is more to say than [[TheKirk Shen]] (who has been wronged by Zed the most, but considers about looking for another way if possible), and [[TheMcCoy Kennen]] (who even considers him still worthy of forgiveness)
* TheStoic: She's emotionless about her killings, accepting it as what needs to be done.
* TeleportSpam: Once she has some levels under her belt, she'll likely use Mark of the Assassin into Shadow Dance over and over in fairly rapid succession in fights as she dashes from target to target or keeps pursuing the same one.
* ZettaiRyouiki: [[http://www.giantbomb.com/akali-the-fist-of-shadow/94-15916/skins/52-473581/akali_nurse/51-1673673/ Her Nurse skin.]] Grade A.

->''"If you intend to grab the bull by the horns as a summoner, Alistar might have something to say about that."''

The greatest warrior of the Minotaur tribes living in the Great Barrier, he successfully defended his tribe from all threats... until the Noxian Army arrived. Lured from his village by the commander of the Noxian expeditionary force, he returned to find it in flames and his family dead. Enraged, he charged into an entire regiment of the Noxian`s elite, killing them by many score, until some of the best summoners of Noxus intervened. Taken in chains, he was forced to fight as a gladiator for Noxus` wealthy leaders. Though being slowly driven insane by the endless combat he had to partake in, a young servant girl named Ayelia befriended him and helped him escape. Alistar joined the Institute of War as a champion, hoping to find Ayelia and take revenge upon Noxus someday.

Alistar is a tank champion whose loads of crowd control allow him to support his allies and disable enemies while tanking a lot of damage. His passive, ''Trample'', allows him to move through units and constantly damage enemies and buildings around him for a short duration after using any ability. With his first ability, ''Pulverize'', Alistar smashes the ground beneath him, damaging, knocking up and stunning all nearby enemies. His second ability, ''Headbutt'', makes him charge at an enemy unit, damaging them and knocking them back. His third ability, ''Triumphant Roar'', heals Alistar, and nearby allies for half the same amount, and can be cast more often if nearby enemies are dying. His ultimate ability, ''Unbreakable Will'', causes Alistar to break out of any crowd control effects, then grants him a large boost to his attack damage and decreases any damage he takes for a duration.

Alistar's alternate skins include [[PaintItBlack Black Alistar]], Golden Alistar, [[TorosYFlamenco Matador Alistar]], [[Cowboy Longhorn Alistar]], Unchained Alistar, and [[BigRedDevil Infernal Alistar]].

'''Associated tropes:'''

* ALoadOfBull: He's a minotaur.
* BreakingTheBonds: His ultimate breaks him out of crowd control effects, alluding to this trope's role in Alistar's backstory.
* ChainPain: Half of his autoattacks are GoodOldFisticuffs, while in the other half he lashes the target with the chains still dangling from his wrists.
* ChainedByFashion: Still wears his shackles and the bits of chain that remain on them.
* CombatMedic: Not as much as dedicated healers, but Alistair's Triumphant Roar heals everyone around him, and the cooldown drops whenever enemies (or neutral creeps) die. An Alistair in the middle of a fight could easily throw three roars in quick succession, giving his team that much needed boost to HP.
* {{Determinator}}: Go ahead and throw several stuns and snares at an Alistar that charges into your team, he'll just power through it with his ultimate and become even harder to kill.
* DifficultButAwesome: Alistar's standard combo is to Pulverize a foe into the air, walk up behind them, then Headbutt in a direction of his choice. Effective, yet requires him to get very close to foes, and smart enemies will stay the hell away from you. However, since Headbutt can start from a decent distance from the victim, a Headbutt THEN Pulverize combo effectively closes the gap and still knocks foes up. This particular combo requires very fast reflexes and some practice to execute consistently, but it can make his CC usable in many, many more situations.
** Additionally, an Alistar needs to be able to make split-second judgment calls on whether to Headbutt or not and if so in which direction. Knocking foes away can ruin a kill for teammates OR save their lives while knocking foes toward teammates can either secure kills for them or screw them over. It can be tough to differentiate between situations; those who cannot [[TheLoad bog their team down]] and those who can are invaluable assets.
* DynamicEntry: If you wait for enemies to bunch up together, Headbutt the one in front, then quickly Pulverize to knock them all up, you end up with a weaker Malphite ult that can be potentially executed much more often.
* FoeTossingCharge: One of the most important tactics for this champion is to use the ground-slam to stun an opponent, travel around him, and then use the headbutt to knock him towards your allies. While less absolutely dooming to a single target, one can alternatively Headbutt the leading member of the enemy team, followed by a Pulverize that hopefully works well because you should be somewhere close to the middle of the enemy team now.
* GlowingEyesOfDoom: Though he's a good guy.
* GoodOldFisticuffs: No weapons, just plain old-fashioned pounding (though the chains on his wrists probably help).
* GroundShatteringLanding: He doesn't even need to jump -- he does this by ''hitting his fists on the ground'', knocking enemies into the air.
* HeroicWillpower: Triumphant Roar heals him and nearby allies because of this. His ultimate, Unbreakable Will, can allow him to shrug off enough damage that he can easily facetank a turret.
** HeroicSecondWind: Unbreakable Will is best used when he's already crowd controlled a bit so it usually turns into this, keeping him going and empowering him after he's taken a decent beating.
* PaintItBlack: Black Alistar
* PunchedAcrossTheRoom: He's generally considered an excellent support champion because even if he barely gears towards any damage or tankiness, the usefulness of this ability still makes him far worth it.
* RedEyesTakeWarning: Which is kinda funny, [[BullSeeingRed considering how he's a bull]]. [[AvertedTrope He's a morally good character, though]].
* StoneWall: He was intended to be a MightyGlacier, but his original kit was far too powerful for what it was before the rework. For example, he could be feeding and still hardcarry as he was the single best split pusher.
* SuperStrength: Half of his abilities involve shrugging off potentially huge amounts of damage with raw willpower. The other half involves [[PunchedAcrossTheRoom sending enemies flying]].
* TorosYFlamenco: His Matador skin.
* TrampledUnderfoot: Not in the usual sense of the trope, but Alistar's passive, [[ExactlyWhatItSaysOnTheTin Trample]], lets him run roughshod over enemies, dealing damage as he goes.
* WalkingTheEarth: Chasing after his female friend.
* TheWildWest: Did you really think they'd pass up a chance to make a Longhorn skin?

->''"Things are bad when Amumu is crying, but they're much worse when he's angry."''
-->-- '''Ezreal'''

A Yordle mummy who woke up in a pyramid with no memory of his previous life but aching sadness and anger. He alternates between constant crying and depression and huge and angry temper tantrums. He joined the League in search of company, as well as a place to discover more things about his past.

Amumu is a tank-mage champion feared for his powerful initiation abilities and his constant stream of area-of-effect damage. His passive, ''Cursed Touch'', reduces the magic resistance of enemies struck by his basic attacks. His first ability, ''Bandage Toss'', hurls one of his bandages in a line, and upon hitting an enemy they'll be stunned and Amumu will yank himself close to them. His second ability, ''Despair'', releases despair-inducing tears that continuously deal damage equal to a percentage of their health to enemies close to Amumu. His third ability, ''Tantrum'', passively reduces the physical damage Amumu takes, and can be activated to make him spin, damaging nearby enemies, which can be used more often if Amumu is under attack. With his ultimate ability, ''Curse of the Sad Mummy'', Amumu entangles all nearby enemies with bandages, damaging them and briefly preventing them from moving or attacking.

Amumu's alternate skins include [[AncientEgypt Pharaoh Amumu]], [[OlympicGames Vancouver Amumu]], [[EmoTeen Emumu]], [[UnwantedGiftPlot Re-gift Amumu]], Almost-Prom King Amumu, [[KnightInShiningArmor Little Knight Amumu]], and Sad Robot Amumu.

'''Associated tropes:'''

* AmericanKirbyIsHardcore: Take a look at the splash art for [[http://4.bp.blogspot.com/-L9GPW81HFJw/TiS4AMQVX-I/AAAAAAAAA04/r0hC8sdcdmM/s1600/SadMummy_Splash_6.jpg his Little Knight skin]]. Pretty depressing and almost cute, right? Now go look at [[http://images.wikia.com/leagueoflegends/images/5/5e/Amumu_LittleKnightSkin_Ch.jpg the Chinese version for the same skin]]. [[TookALevelInBadass Someone ordered a badass level for the mummy?]] Also plays The DulcineaEffect as Amumu [[YouShallNotPass interposes himself]] between Warwick and an unconscious [[ImpliedLoveInterest Annie.]]
** [[http://leagueoflegends.wikia.com/wiki/Amumu/SkinsTrivia?file=Amumu%20VancouverSkin%20Ch.jpg The Chinese Vancouver skin]] also shows him visibly scowling and getting ready to fight compared to [[http://leagueoflegends.wikia.com/wiki/Amumu/SkinsTrivia?file=Amumu%20VancouverSkin.jpg the normal version of the skin]].
* AscendedMeme: Amumu has been called an emo for quite a while. Ladies and gentlemen, Emumu skin.
* ArmorPiercingAttack: Despair deals percentage of an opponent's maximum health every second so even tanks stacking HP and Armor are damaged just as much as their squishy teammates. Since it's magic damage, though, Magic Resistance does provide a level of protection (though Amumu's passive helps get through that too).
* ArtEvolution: Played with; he's one of the champs to receive updates to a few of his splash art images, but none to his in-game model.
* BadassAdorable: He's pretty cute for such a strong little guy.
* [[BewareTheNiceOnes Beware the Sad Ones]]: You'd think that a champion whose main damage output is crying and throwing temper tantrums isn't very effective. He is.
* ButtMonkey: All of his skin save Pharaoh and Vancouver Amumu show Amumu on the receiving end of trouble: not winning the title of Prom King, an unwanted gift, a FailureKnight, and about to be melted down in a scrap yard.
* CounterStrike: Tantrum has Amumu lash out against everything within melee range and gets its cooldown reduced every time he's hit. An Amumu can keep retaliating against enemy attacks so long as he has mana, to the point of SpamAttack if the entire enemy team is wailing on him.
* CrouchingMoronHiddenBadass: Is a tiny shambling child mummy who cries and flies into tantrums and is regarded as one of the most solid and useful heroes in the game. He used to be regarded as a number one game-changer in the meta-game due to his ultimate, Curse of the Sad Mummy, having high potential to turn a lost game around or secure a win if executed just at the right moment. Even when he's no longer considered top-tier he's still a dangerous threat when left un-banned.
* DeadToBeginWith: Woke up as an undead and has zero memories of his life before he died.
* DeathByAThousandCuts: Despair won't do any serious damage... at first. Since it saps nearby enemy's life based on a percentage of max health per second, an Amumu can kill you just by standing near you long enough.
* {{Emo}}: His Emumu skin.
* EmotionBomb: His lore implies that Despair doesn't actually damage people by crying, rather, everything near him becomes sad as well and slowly wears away at their life force.
* GlacierWaif: He's a yordle, making him one of the smallest champions in the league, but one of his most effective roles in a team is a tank, intended to take all the damage from the enemy team.
* GradualGrinder: The damage an Amumu can inflict onto his target(s) is directly proportional to how long he can stay on top of them as his Despair, Tantrum, and autoattacks wear away at them slowly but surely.
* IJustWantToHaveFriends: He's lonely, after all.
-->''[[http://images.wikia.com/leagueoflegends/images/e/e9/Amumu.attack5.ogg "Let's find some friends!"]]''
* ImpliedLoveInterest: Annie
* {{Irony}}: A small, frail-looking, and otherwise pitiable champion who is one of the best tanks in the game. He thinks of himself as TheUnfavorite to the point where his selection quote is "I thought you'd never pick me...". In the season 2 meta-game he was on the permanently-banned list for his game-changing initiation and people scrambled to pick him whenever he wasn't banned. Even now he's still considered a solid pick and gets summoned in a decent percentage of matches.
* MagikarpPower: Compared to some other junglers, Amumu has abysmal dueling capacity early on and can get bullied by a rival jungler like Trundle or Shyvana. Given enough time and farm, though, Amumu becomes an unkillable little menace who can wear down these same fighters' health bars before they can do the same, not to mention his enormous team-wide lockdown.
* MemeticHandGesture: Uses {{Spiderman}}'s web-shooting gesture for the icon of his Bandage Toss ability.
* MightyGlacier: Has high [=AoE=] damage-over-time and is innately tough to survive getting that close to enemies. Many players build him with tanky AP items to strengthen both of these, making Amumu a tough nut to crack that you really, really don't want too close to you.
* {{Mummy}}: A small, sad one.
* MummyWrap: Naturally, two of his four abilities make use of this trope proper. Their enormous synergy is perhaps the biggest reason why Amumu is almost always a dangerous enemy. Bandage Toss, which binds (and stuns) a single opponent and slings him towards them, sets him up perfectly for his Curse of the Sad Mummy, which wraps up every enemy in a huge radius around him, leaving them helpless to move or autoattack for a short duration. If these two are used in a hectic teamfight, the entire enemy team can effectively become "out of position" - people on the fringe of that radius, especially the squishier, more vital ones, are picked off effortlessly, while their nearby friends often can't move an inch to help.
* MysteriousPast: No one knows who he used to be or who his parents were, he just woke up mummified in a Shurima pyramid and started off that way.
* ParentalAbandonment: Has no idea who or what his parents were at all.
* SkillgateCharacter: Amumu's ultimate, his fairly easy to use gap-closer, his good jungle clearing speed, and strong teamfight presence makes him the number one must champion to ban many low ELO solo ranked games and one of the easiest junglers to master. Counter: invade and deny his blue buff, pick a jungler who isn't entirely dependent on the blue buff (i.e. Zac and Tryndamere), or have someone excelling in dueling (i.e. Lee Sin). It's also worth mentioning that his Bandage Toss then ultimate combo easily punishes enemy teams for having one member be "out of position" and on the whole this is a more prevalent mistake at lower ELO's.
* UndeadChild: It was unclear whether or not he was a human child or a Yordle before he was [[RetCon retconned]] into the latter.
** A Rioter has confirmed that he probably won't stay a Yordle if he undergoes a Visual Update, as he claimed it didn't make much sense.
* UseYourHead: Smashes his head against things for autoattacks, given that it's the only thing that can even reach most champions.
* YankTheDogsChain: Every time he thinks he's found some friends he'll usually drive them off with his persistent aura of intense sadness, leading him to wander from place to place continually crying.
** ThrowTheDogABone: Amumu finally has a friend: Annie. A Journal of Justice article mentioned the two of them then the official website confirmed them as being friends.
* ZombieGait: His normal walk.

[[folder:Anivia, the Cryophoenix]]
[[quoteright:120:http://static.tvtropes.org/pmwiki/pub/images/AniviaSquare_3915.png]]
[[caption-width-right:116:[-[[http://images.wikia.com/leagueoflegends/images/a/a8/Anivia_select.ogg On my wings.]]-] ]]

->''"[[IAmTheNoun I am the fury of the blizzard, the bite of the wind, and the cold of the ice. I am the Frelijord.]]"''

Anivia is an elemental embodiment of ice and an ancient protector of the Frelijord. Benevolent but mysterious, she has lived countless vaguely-remembered lifetimes, revolving cyclically in time with great crises. Having witnessed the conflict that tore the three ancient tribes of the Frelijord asunder and sensed the rising darkness of Lissandra and her Watchers, Anivia has allied with Ashe in her campaign to unify the land.

Anivia is a mage-support champion who excels at controlling areas with crowd control while also inflicting heavy damage upon enemies. Her passive, ''Rebirth'', transforms Anivia into an immobile egg upon death, recovering full health and allowing her to revive with the egg's remaining health if it survives six seconds, although this effect only works once before going on cooldown. Her first ability, ''Flash Frost'', shoots a ball of ice that travels in a line, damaging and slowing enemies it passes through, that can be detonated at any point to deal bonus damage and stun nearby enemies. Her second ability, ''Crystallize'', creates a temporary wall of ice at a nearby location that acts as impassable terrain. Her third ability, ''Frostbite'', fires a shard of ice at an enemy that deals double damage if they are slowed by her ''Flash Frost'' or ''Glacial Storm'' abilities. Her ultimate ability, ''Glacial Storm'', summons a blizzard at a nearby area that constantly damages and slows enemies inside it, and can be mantained as long as Anivia has mana left.

Anivia's alternate skins include [[OlympicGames Team Spirit Anivia]], [[BigBadassBirdOfPrey Bird of Prey Anivia]], Noxus Hunter Anivia, [[Magitek Hextech Anivia]], and [[EvilIsDeathlyCold Blackfrost Anivia]].

'''Associated tropes:'''

* ActionGirl: Yes, she is female.
* AnIcePerson: Should be obvious.
* BigBadassBirdOfPrey: All of her skins are this by default, Bird of Prey Anivia doubly so.
* DeathIsASlapOnTheWrist: Has a chance of resurrecting with full HP as her special skill (Well, she is a Phoenix, after all). But usually, when you're in a situation when you actually die, you're most likely gonna get killed as an egg. Doesn't help that even if your egg survives, you're reborn with the same HP as your egg. Which means you're screwed if everyone decides to attack you. Casting Teleport while you're almost but certainly dead and will be eggified is a useful tactic for playing Anivia to ensure that her death count is always 0.
* DifficultButAwesome: Very slow, fragile, relies on combos, and her mana costs make failing to do those combos right very painful. Her wall created by Crystallize can save enemies or doom allies with improper use. If pulled off correctly, Anivia deals high damage in a few instants, continues to do more damage in an area of effect while she has mana, and forces the enemy to move where Anivia wants them to. Even without items. ''With items'', it just very clearly gets ''even better''. This can best be seen in how Anivia generally shows up in competitive circles. She's not a very common pick, being more of a niche pick for her crowd control and ability to completely stymie tower pushes as long as her mana reserves hold up. On the other hand, in the cases of the very few pro-level players who have truly mastered her... Froggen, for example, is a player on the European pro circuit who is one of the very best Anivia players in the game, and more or less every single team for the past ''year'' who has gone against him has banned her out of fear.
* EvilCostumeSwitch: Her Legendary Blackfrost skin is this, showcasing a "what if?" scenario where Anivia becomes corrupted by the Frozen Watchers.
* EvilLaugh: Again, her Blackfrost skin. It [[http://images.wikia.com/leagueoflegends/images/b/b7/BlackIceAnivia.laugh01.ogg will]] [[http://images.wikia.com/leagueoflegends/images/9/9e/BlackIceAnivia.laugh02.ogg freeze]][[http://images.wikia.com/leagueoflegends/images/b/bf/BlackIceAnivia.laugh03.ogg your]][[http://images.wikia.com/leagueoflegends/images/1/1a/BlackIceAnivia.laugh04.ogg blood]]. Damn she sounds evil.
* FisherKing: {{Inverted}}. Anivia's new lore portrays her as tied to the essence of Frelijord's winter - if the land is corrupted by the Watchers, she would be too. This is one of the reasons she has thrown her lot in with Ashe against Lissandra's minions.
* GameBreakingBug: Possibly the most severe case, to the point that it was patched within the hour. Anivia has a skill that shoots out a ball of ice, slowing people in its path and detonating at the end of the path (can be manually detonated too) to stun anyone the small detonation hits. However, a long time ago after a patch, this skill was bugged so that the range the detonation would stun was global, meaning she could sit in the fountain and spam the skill and the entire enemy team would be helpless but to take damage and be stunned every couple of seconds the entire game.
* GeoEffects: Anivia can temporarily make terrain that can't be moved through with her Ice Wall ability. In the right situations, this can really screw up the opposing team. And in the [[TheLoad wrong hands]], can put up a wall right ''behind'' a fleeing enemy and stop them from being chased down.
* GiantFlyer: Quite large for a bird-like creature. No doubt aided by magic.
* GlassCannon: One of the most fragile mages in the game, but her damage output is huge.
* OurMonstersAreDifferent: Phoenixes are usually associated with fire, so Anivia's instead a goddess of ice.
* MagikarpPower: Actually her base spell damage is pretty high even without AP items, her problem is her horrendous mana costs which limit her casting severely. A direct metric for how dangerous an Anivia is is how much mana she's managed to accumulate through items; an Anivia that can keep Glacial Storm going for an entire teamfight is significantly more dangerous than one that can only keep it on for 5 seconds before running dry.
* ThePhoenix: Replace fire with ice, and there you go. Given that RealityIsUnrealistic, she may have been inspired by ''[[{{Pokemon}} Articuno]]''. Further inspiration could be a Persian bird of mythology. Yes...''that'' [[UsefulNotes/{{Iran}} Persia]].
* PhysicalGod: It's implied that there are other elemental entities out there like her.
* RedEyesTakeWarning: Her eyes are red, likely to contrast with her being entirely blue, but she's otherwise a perfectly good character, [[AvertedTrope averting the connotations]].
* RetCon: Anivia's prior lore had her as an extraplanar being summoned to Runeterra by the League. Now, she's a native of the plane and an elemental goddess of Frelijord to make her more relevant to Runeterran struggles.
* StrawNihilist: Her Blackfrost skin gives her a voice-set where she sounds like she's thoroughly tired of the existence of life and just wants to freeze everyone and everything to get some peace.
* SteamPunk: Her Hextech skin.
* VoiceOfTheLegion: A bit of it with her Blackfrost skin.
* WhyWontYouDie: Well, she IS a phoenix. And she can become even more phoenix by getting a Guardian Angel, an armor that revives you upon death.

[[caption-width-right:116:[-[[http://images.wikia.com/leagueoflegends/images/c/ca/Annie_Select.ogg You wanna play too? It'll be fun!]]-] ]]

->'''Voiced by:''' Creator/CristinaUlloa

->''"Annie may be one of the most powerful champions ever to have fought in a Field of Justice. I shudder to think of her capabilities when she becomes an adult."''
-->-- '''High Councilor Kiersta Mandrake'''

Annie's parents were a witch and a warlock and the leaders of a rebelious movement in Noxus. They, along with other magicians, fled Noxus and settled down in the harsh magical landscape of the Voodoo Lands. It was here that Annie was born, the magic inherent in the location only compounding the magic in her lineage. She cemented herself as a master of arcane powers when, at the age of two, she captured a ferocious shadow bear, named him "Tibbers," and to this day keeps him as her pet.

Annie is a mage champion with a simple yet devastating kit that contains powerful single and multi-target damage and crowd control. Her passive, ''Pyromania'', stacks up whenever she casts a spell and causes her next damaging spell to stun all enemies hit when she reaches four stacks. Her first ability, ''Disintegrate'', blasts a nearby enemy with a fireball that refunds its mana cost if it kills the target. Her second ability, ''Incinerate'', releases a wave of fire that scorches all enemies in a cone in front of her. Her third ability, ''Molten Shield'', surrounds Annie with a shield of fire that gives her bonus physical and magical resistances, and also damages any enemies that attack her. Her ultimate ability, ''Summon: Tibbers'', releases her teddy bear Tibbers at a nearby area in a damaging explosion, and turns him into a giant flaming monster she can command for a brief duration. Tibbers constantly damages all enemies around himself with its fiery aura.

Annie's alternate skins include [[PerkyGoth Goth Annie]], [[LittleRedFightingHood Riding Hood Annie]], [[Literature/AliceInWonderland Annie in Wonderland]] (with Tibbers in a White Rabbit costume), Prom Queen Annie (with Tibbers in a tuxedo), [[AnIcePerson Frostfire Annie]] (with a polar-bear Tibbers in a scarf and beanie), Reverse Annie (Annie wears a bear suit, Tibbers wears a dress), [[Literature/{{Frankenstein}} [=FrankenTibbers=] Annie]] (with Tibbers as FrankensteinsMonster and Annie as the Film/BrideOfFrankenstein), and [[PandaingToTheAudience Panda Annie]] (Annie wearing a Chinese dress, while Tibbers is a giant panda).

'''Associated tropes:'''

* AnIcePerson: Frostfire Annie provides this charming inversion of her powers.
* AnimalEaredHeadband: Red kittie ears.
* ArtEvolution: Arguably the single greatest example in the game to date. Annie is one of the oldest champions in the game and while her [[http://images3.wikia.nocookie.net/__cb57088/leagueoflegends/de/images/d/d5/Annie-Render.png old character model]] was fair for its time, by modern standards it was hideous, with oversized hands and feet, a ''colossal'' head and pipe-stem limbs and neck. Her [[http://images3.wikia.nocookie.net/__cb20130116195936/leagueoflegends/images/a/ab/Annie_Skins_Screenshots.jpg new model]] doesn't just rectify these issues, making her look like a cute (if dangerous) little girl, it's also the first champion model in the game to have ''animated facial expressions'' (as well as lip-sync, which Soraka got on her reworked model just before Annie)!
* BadassAdorable: Especially her Reverse Annie skin, which has her wear a bear suit.
* BlackMagicianGirl: Very childlike, and yet she's one of the strongest mages in the guild.
* BalefulPolymorph: Tibbers is a real dark grizzly turned into a plushie, not the other way around.
* BearsAreBadNews: Annie's ultimate. And it's [[IncendiaryExponent on fire]].
* BerserkButton: She certainly doesn't take kindly to Tibbers being swallowed by Baron Nashor.
* BoringYetPractical: Annie's almost universally-known combo is to charge up her passive stun, cast Tibbers on her target(s) to stun them, then follow up with Incinerate, Disintegrate, then an Ignite for good measure. Straightfoward? Yes. Old-fashioned? Yes. Effective? Hell yes.
* CaptainErsatz: Annie is a childhood version of the ''DefenseOfTheAncients'' character Lina Inverse, who herself is based gameplay-wise on the lead character of ''{{Slayers}}''. Although her Ultimate, summoning Tibbers, is more similar with Warlock's Ultimate that summons golem while stunning the enemy.
* CatchPhrase: [[http://images.wikia.com/leagueoflegends/images/5/52/Annie.move1.ogg "Have you seen my bear Tibbers?"]]
* ChildMage: With frightening potential, given what she can do at this age.
* CreepyChild: Hits just the right notes of childlike innocence and pyromania to give a very creepy vibe.
* DarkIsNotEvil: Annie isn't exactly ''nice'', but despite her dark magic, she's not really evil, either -- she's the child of the founders of the Grey Order, who left Noxus because of the evils perpetrated by its government, and she isn't notably more vicious or destructive than the other Champions. In other words, a typical 8-year-old with a little too much power for not having left the 'brat' phase behind yet.
* ElementalPowers: PlayingWithFire
* FluffyTamer: Taming a ferocious bear at the age of two definitely qualifies.
* GirlsLoveStuffedAnimals: Especially if it can help her kick ass.
* GirlWithPsychoWeapon: If a killer teddybear counts.
** If that doesn't count, her fire spells certainly do.
* GreenEyes: And has dark-pink hair. And is especially magical considering how she's using it while she hasn't even hit puberty.
* GlassCannon: Easy to kill, easy to get killed by.
* ImpliedLoveInterest: Amumu.
* ImprobableWeaponUser: If Tibbers counts as a weapon.
* InstantDeathRadius: Just try and get within 600 range of her after she hits level 6. Taken UpToEleven by Annie Bot, who is notorious for pulling off her killing combo faster than even top-tier human players.
* JekyllAndHyde: Sometimes she's a skip-around little schoolgirl, other times she wants to burn you to a crisp - or let her teddybear do it for her.
* KillItWithFire: [[http://images.wikia.com/leagueoflegends/images/3/31/Annie.move5.ogg Claims to never play with matches]]. This is either BlatantLies or even MetaphoricallyTrue because she uses her magic instead.
* KillerTeddyBear: Tibbers, of course.
* LampshadeHanging: One of her attack lines is [[http://images.wikia.com/leagueoflegends/images/e/e9/Annie.attack4.ogg "Let's count to five!"]]. Her passive causes an offensive spell cast to stun enemy targets hit after the use of four other abilities.
** Another interpretation is that she wants to [[KillStreak hear the announcer count to]] [[TotalPartyKill five]]
* LittleMissBadass: [[http://images1.wikia.nocookie.net/__cb20100929154317/leagueoflegends/images/d/d7/Annie_concept.jpg Her original design was a sexy teenage school girl]], and now she's a killer 8-year old.
* NotTheIntendedUse: Towards the end of Season 3 she got fielded as a bot-lane support as often (if not more often) as a mid-lane mage, taking advantage of her decent damage without items combined with support gold changes. A support Annie that does well in lane can end up being nearly as much of a menace as her solo lane counterpart. And even without gold, Annie still has some of the most brutal initiation in the game. Flash + Tibbers = enemy team is sitting ducks for nearly two seconds.
** Even more obvious now due to recent changes in Season 4, her initial damage and stun duration at level 1 have been lowered, but the cooldown of Tibbers has been reduced making it way more effective either in lane or as a teamfight, also alongside new items and Annie can still get a ton of gold making her a terror as a support.
* PandaingToTheAudience: Panda Annie, her Lunar Revel skin in which Tibbers is, naturally, a panda.
* PerkyGoth: Her Goth skin retains all her cute, sweet little quotes and animations.
* PimpedOutDress: Prom Queen Annie, along with several of her other outfits.
* PlayingWithFire: Whether its offensively or defensively, fire is her magic of choice. Even her demon-turned-teddybear is on fire!
* PrettyInMink: Her [[http://www.thepaperwall.com/wallpaper.php?view=eee726d93a6fc98b25bdabba730d4ea617a75460&fol=fantasy Frostfire outfit]] is trimmed with white fur on the shoulders, waist, hood, and skirt hem. Her [[NiceShoes boots are also white fur]].
* SharpDressedMan: Bet you didn't expect to see a giant fiery bear in a tux today, did you?
* SkillGateCharacters: Teaches players to last-hit properly, to carefully plan your attacks, to count your used abilities, to do quick combo bursts, to properly control a pet (being the easiest pet-using character) and to make {{Tactical Withdrawal}}s (a skill that some people lack), making her the best choice for a person who wants to learn using casters. Still a high-tier caster, though.
** She's one of the few characters who are easy to learn, yet difficult to master. Her Disintegrate is somewhat forgiving, as it refunds the mana cost if you get a kill with it, and Tibbers can still unleash hell even if you screw up the standard combo. However, her spell ranges are some of the shortest in the game, making her easy to harass and difficult to use.
* SkipOfInnocence: She moves like this.
* SquishyWizard: Slightly tougher than the average caster thanks to the bonus defensive stats she gets from Magma Shield, but is still encouraged to build GlassCannon and has a tendancy to melt under fire.
* TokenMiniMoe: The youngest girl in the League by at least a decade.

->''"One tribe, one people, one Freljiord"''
-->-- '''Ashe'''

As a child, Ashe dreamed of uniting the tribes of the Freljiord. After a raid gone awry killed her mother, Ashe chose to broker peace among the tribes instead of seeking revenge, making the warriors of the tribe question her right to rule. They attempted to assassinate her during one of her hunts, when the sound of a hawk warned Ashe of an attack and eventually lead her to an ancient tomb, where she found an ornate bow of ice. Ashe used the bow to defeat her would-be killers and gain the respect of her tribe. Under her leadership, the tribe grew and became the Avarosan, following the vision of uniting the Freljiord and making it great again. When word talked about a place called the League of Legends, she joins the League to represent the Avarosan.

Ashe is a marksman-support champion that exchanges a slighly lower damage potential for high utility and crowd control capabilites. Her passive, ''Focus'', stacks overtime as long as she's not attacking and grants her an authomatic critical hit on her next basic attack if she waits long enough. Her first ability, ''Frost Shot'', enchants her basic attacks with ice, slowing targets hit for a small cost of mana on each attack. Her second ability, ''Volley'', fires a barrage of freezing arrows in a cone that damage and apply the slow from her ''Frost Shot'' to all enemies hit. Her third ability, ''Hawkshot'', passively increases the gold she gains when she kills an enemy unit, and can be activated to send an ice hawk to scout an area in a wide radius. Her ultimate ability, ''Enchanted Crystal Arrow'', fires an enormous ice arrow that flies forward, stunning and damaging the first enemy champion hit while also slowing and damaging nearby enemies. The arrow has no limit in range, and the stun duration increases the further it flies.

Ashe's alternate skins include [[WomanInWhite Freljord Ashe]], [[RobinHood Sherwood Ashe]], [[BarbarianHero Woad Ashe]], [[RoyalsWhoActuallyDoSomething Queen Ashe]], Amethyst Ashe, and Heartseeker Ashe.

'''Associated tropes:'''

* ActionGirl: Very much at home in the field.
* {{Adorkable}}: Her joke animation and quotes go around about how she boasts that she doesn't need an eye to shoot the enemy... and proceeds to hit her own eye while pulling the bowstrings with a meek "Ow!" and dropping her bow, and occasionally pouting as a result.
* AnIcePerson: She can enchant her arrows with Frost Shots to slow enemies she hits and fire a huge Crystalline Arrow to completely freeze a target solid for a few seconds.
* ArrangedMarriage: After being crowned Queen of Freljord she chose Tryndamere as her king to cement the alliance between the tribes of Freljord and his barbarian clan. This has been proclaimed a strictly political move, and any actual feelings between the two of them are currently unknown.
* ArtEvolution: [[http://media.photobucket.com/image/league%20of%20legends%20early%20artwork%20ashe/tidude/Bowmaster_0.jpg?t=1302650613 From the beginning of the game]], then [[http://sarcasticgamer.com/wp/wp-content/uploads/2011/07/ashe.jpg this]], and after the Darius Patch [[http://riot-web-static.s3.amazonaws.com/images/news/May_2012/2012_05_23_ashe/Ashe_Splash_0_thumb.jpg here we are]]. Lots of love from Riot.
* AwesomeYetPractical: Ashe got lots of love from the season 3 professional scene in no small part because of her ultimate. Crystalline Arrow makes Ashe one of the few ranged carries that can initiate an all-out fight from any distance ''without'' it being suicide [[DifficultButAwesome provided that one can aim well]], and of course top-tier players usually do.
* BoringButPractical: Considered one of the simplest characters to play ever, but undeniably one of the most effective. This is partially because, as damage-dealers go, she's a JackOfAllStats, with versatility that is basically unmatched by any other carry. Her passive means any time spent out of combat is not wasted. Her first skill is a self-buff for her autoattacks that gives her crowd control, and makes catching fleeing champions easier as well as making it more risky to attack her while she's in a favorable position. Her second skill is a skillshot, meaning it can be used to check bushes or aim at hidden enemies, cover a retreat, and help her farm. Her third skill is a vision extender (useful) and increases the amount of gold she makes (''incredibly'' useful, as carries are deliberately designed to be [[WeaksauceWeakness item-dependent]]).
* BountyHunter: One of her passives gives her extra gold for every kill. (It can also be activated to deploy a sight-giving owl. No, we don't get how those two mix either.)
* CaptainErsatz: As a white-haired beauty in a dark cape and hood who fires slowing arrows from her longbow, Ashe is one of Traxex, the Drow Ranger from ''Defense of the Ancients'' (however, aside from the slowing arrows, their kits actually have very little in common).
* DifficultButAwesome: Contrasting Boring But Practical, her ultimate is quite easy to use badly, but if used well can turn a fight around. In addition, her early game is very poor compared to other AD Carries, lacking any form of escape skill whilst simultaneously being one of the squishiest and slowest [=ADCs=] in the game. It's rather telling how useful she is in skilled hands by her status as one of the top-picked ranged carries in the Season 3 tournament scene.
* ExposedToTheElements: Not the worst offender, but she doesn't even wear pants.
* FantasyCounterpartCulture: Of vikings.
* GenerationXerox: An extreme example. Professor Lyte remarks that she looks almost identical to the legendary Avarosa, Ashe's ancestor and founder of her Avarosan faction in the Freljord.
* GlassCannon: All ADC's are this, but Ashe dials both aspects of the trope way up. She's one of the glassiest characters in the game (even some of the SquishyWizard champions look almost Tanky next to her), but if she gets her items, she can blow away half the enemy team in a fight before you realize what's happening.
* GreenEyes: Add with white-haired, {{Stripperiffic}}, archer and ActionGirl for extra sex appeal. Her background on the tundra also arguably goes along with the witchlike magical connotations of the trope.
* HarmlessFreezing: Crystalline Arrow deals a hefty amount of damage but not enough to account for the fact her victim is (supposed to be) frozen solid for several seconds.
* HopeSpot: Can induce such. Did you just escape a gang? Good! Prepare the Recall immediately! ... Wait a minute, what is that giant arrow of ice coming to me from another side - '''BOOM!''' "You have been slain."
* ImprobableAimingSkills: Well, it can be tough for players to use at a decent distance, but it is not unknown for Ashe to make some ridiculous shots with her ultimate. Also, her ''other'' passive keeps increasing her crit-chance after a few seconds of non-combat have passed. At high levels, if she hasn't shot anything for 19 seconds, her next attack is ''guaranteed'' to crit.
* LadyOfWar: Acts very dignified, befitting her position as queen.
* MagikarpPower: Ashe is one of the weakest early game characters from level 2 through probably around 12 or so. However late game, Ashe has a stun, permanent slows, and can kite every tank to hell and back.
* {{Multishot}}: One of her abilities - a cone of arrows is fired, dealing damage and applying a slow to all targets corresponding to the slow of one of her other abilities.
* MysticalWhiteHair: She had blonde hair, but it became white after divine providence saved her life solely from a horrific blizzard hitting right after a week-long standoff between her closest companions and an enemy tribe. However, she still has blonde hair in her Freljord skin, which represents her before the blizzard.
* PeekABangs: In her older artwork and model. This visual trait was dropped after her model was remade with corresponding splash art.
* RoyalsWhoActuallyDoSomething: Was a literal princess, who, as we know, is an ActionGirl. Has been crowned queen of Freljord after managing to have the region be recognized as a state by the Institute of War, choosing Tryndamere as king to solidify the pact between their people to maintain stability in the area.
* SkillGateCharacter: is a decent lesson on how to play Attack Damage Carry. Also teaches map awareness--which is important since, using her ultimate, she is one of the very few characters who can win (or help win) a fight without actually being ''in'' it. And finally, earlier versions of the game's new-player tutorial had her as the Champ you controlled.
* TechnicalPacifist: Ashe is against violence and mostly promotes peace to rule and unite the clans, although she's very deadly when she takes action. Her lore explains that she overcame her desire to avenge her mother over uniting the Freljord through peace. This attitude is what makes her rivals with Sejuani.
* TomboyAndGirlyGirl: She's the girly one with Sejuani, more peace-loving and graceful in battle, preferring to pelt the enemies from afar with her bow. Her voice is also noticeably more high-pitched than Sejuani, and she's also sporting longer hair.
* TrickArrow: Ice arrows that can slow or stun.
* WinterRoyalLady: Her Queen skin shows off her royal garb.
* ZettaiRyouiki: Grade A on 4 out of 6 of her skins including her Classic skin.

[[folder:Blitzcrank, the Great Steam Golem]]
[[quoteright:120:http://static.tvtropes.org/pmwiki/pub/images/BlitzcrankSquare_7509.png]]
[[caption-width-right:116:[[AC:[-[[http://images.wikia.com/leagueoflegends/images/f/fb/Blitzcrank_Select.ogg FIRED UP AND READY TO SERVE.]]-] ]] ]]

->''"Though Blitzcrank may batter anything that stands in his way, he really has a heart of gold... encased in a framework of iron... in a carapace of steel."''

A magical automaton created by a mad scientist from Zaun, Blitzcrank was originally built for cleaning up the city's hazardous waste. However, his self-awareness caused a storm in the legal courts of Zaun, with many parties hoping to claim credit for his construction. After receiving legal autonomy, he joined the League, where the unique are always welcome.

Blitzcrank is a tank-fighter champion feared for his deadly crowd control, specially his ability to pull enemies to his side and disable them. His passive, ''Mana Barrier'', protects Blitzcrank with a shield equal to a percentage of his mana when he gets low on health, but only works once before going on cooldown. His first ability, ''Rocket Grab'', fires his right hand forward in a line, yanking the first enemy hit and dragging them towards him. His second ability, ''Overdrive'', increases Blitzcrank's movement and attack speed for a brief duration. His third ability, ''Power Fist'', transforms his next basic attack into a powerful uppercut that deals bonus damage and knocks his target upwards. His ultimate ability, ''Static Field'', passively damages a random nearby enemy with lightning every few seconds, and can be activated to release a powerful blast of electricity that damages and silences all nearby enemies.

Blitzcrank's alternate skins include [[PaletteSwap Rusty Blitzcrank]], [[BoxingBattler Boom Boom Blitzcrank]], [[TheBeautifulGame Goalkeeper Blitzcrank]], [[CoolCar Piltover Customs Blitzcrank]], [[PaperThinDisguise Definitely Not Blitzcrank]], [[EverythingIsAnIpodInTheFuture iBlitzcrank]], and Riot Blitzcrank.

'''Associated tropes:'''

* CaptainErsatz: Of [[VideoGame/ChronoTrigger Robo]] given the SquareEnix theme and has the voice of a [[Series/DoctorWho Dalek]]. In gameplay terms, he replicates Pudge the Butcher from ''DefenseOfTheAncients''.
* {{Combos}}: Riot even mentions under his usage tips that the 1-2-3 combo of Rocket Grab --> Power Fist --> Static Field is very likely to doom a single target.
* CoolCar: His Piltover Customs skin.
* CrutchCharacter: He's a much more powerful pick at lower ELO games (and thus gets banned almost consistently) because of how badly Rocket Grab exploits bad positioning and predictable movement patterns. He's generally not seen (or banned) as often at mid or high ELO since players there make fewer positioning mistakes in general though it's certainly possible to do well as Blitzcrank even against skilled players.
* DifficultButAwesome: A skilled Blitzcrank is a very good addition to a team, pulling out critical targets to be picked off by your posse and using his silence/knockups to turn around fights. This, however, requires the ability to consistently land relatively slow skillshots ''and'' on the right target.
* TheDreaded: It's quite telling that Blitzcrank is the only champion that can scare the hell out of most super-fed enemies even if he has zero kills and does low damage himself- his grab alone will pull its victim into his teammates who will very likely dispatch them.
* GrapplingHookGun: Of the sort that only works on other people. Perhaps the most one-sided initiating skill in the game: when you pull it off successfully, the unlucky target is ''dead''. Of course, it's a skillshot with a high mana cost and a long cooldown, so pulling it off successfully is more work than you might think.
* GroinAttack: Once punched Singed in the crotch for [[{{Troll}} trash-talking him]].
* InstantDeathRadius: Late-game the radius of his grab range tends to be this, if his team is there to quickly annihilate the champion he grabs. Thus, a very fast way to clear enemies from an area (even if temporarily) is to hit Overdrive and start running toward them looking to pick someone off.
* ItCanThink: In his backstory he was a golem programmed with the most basic decision-making capacities needed for his work with toxic waste reclamation. Then he started to exhibit more and more signs of sentience to the point where he was deemed an autonomous being.
* JackOfAllTrades: While not a JackOfAllStats, Blitzcrank has one of the most versatile sets of build paths of any champion in the game, being able to be effectively built as a pure tank, melee DPS, burst mage or even a hybrid.
* LeadTheTarget: A necessary requirement to grab targets that are not standing still or running in a perfectly straight line since the skillshot ''is'' fairly fast, but most opponents will anticipate it if Blitzcrank ventures anywhere near them. Conversely, it means that if you are trying not to be on the ''receiving'' end, then your best bet is to [[{{Dune}} walk without rhythm]] and move in erratic directions to prevent an easy hook by running predictably.
* TheLoad: A Blitzcrank that can't land his Rocket Grab is fairly worthless. Even worse is one that pulls enemy champions that ''want'' to get close to your team with their attacks or area based abilities. Of course, most teams won't take the chance that the opponent will be TheLoad and bans Blitzcrank on the possibility he'll be good.
* MachineMonotone [[AC: THIS IS HIS ME-THOD OF SPE-ECH]]
* TheMatchmaker: Runs a dating service. Best known for matching Ashe with Tryndamere, Garen with Katarina, and [[CrowningMomentOfFunny Rammus with a cactus]].
* MegatonPunch: Boasts some huge intimidating fists. Ability-wise, he can use [[ExactlyWhatItSaysOnTheTin Power Fist]] to uppercut an enemy several feet into the air.
* MightyGlacier: But he upgrades to a LightningBruiser as the game goes on.
* NotTheIntendedUse: Commonly used as an aggressive support when he was intended as a bruiser.
* OddFriendship: He and Rammus are buds despite one being mechanical and the other being organic. This is likely due to them being kindred spirits as they are both lonely from being the only one of their kind while sharing a certain benevolent spirit.
* PaletteSwap: His Rusty skin holds the distinction of being the only skin removed from the game for the poor quality of the changes.
* PaperThinDisguise: Whoever that large metal man in the poorly fitting suit and obviously fake nose and glasses is, he is most Definitely Not Blitzcrank.
* RobotBuddy: If he's on your team. Off-field, he's a pretty nice guy in the lore.
* RocketPunch: The skill is actually called Rocket Grab, but the theory is similar.
* SchmuckBait: Of all the people to be wary of when they're forced under their towers, Blitzcrank probably beats them all. Most bait-ers require that you get tricked into diving them under their tower before trapping you to death; Blitzcrank will just pull you straight to its center if you're within range and knock you into the air and silence you, ensuring you take several tower shots in a row.
* ShockAndAwe: Static Field passively zaps nearby enemies every few seconds and unleashes a lot of electricity when activated.
* SteamPunk: His entire theme.
* SuspiciouslySpecificDenial: Definitely Not Blitzcrank, anyone?
* {{SWAT Team}}: Riot Blitzcrank.
* YouWillNotEvadeMe: Escaping from a late-game Blitzcrank who's making judicious use of both Overdrive and Rocket Grab is a ''nightmare'', and practically impossible without use of Flash, Ghost, and Teleport, or having friends waiting in the wings to pound on him when he decides to chase.

[[folder:Brand, the Burning Vengeance]]

[[quoteright:120:http://static.tvtropes.org/pmwiki/pub/images/brandsquare_6493.png]]
[[caption-width-right:116:[-[[http://images.wikia.com/leagueoflegends/images/2/2c/Brand_Select.ogg Ready to set the world on fire? Heh heh heh...]]-] ]]

->''"This place will burn, not by cinder flying on breath of wind, but by the vengeance of my hand."''

Brand is a mage champion who uses fire to deal massive multi-target damage, and must use his abilities in tandem to reach maximum efficiency. His passive, ''Blaze'', makes all his abilities set their targets ablaze, dealing damage over time equal to a percentage of their maximum health and adding bonus effects to his spells. His first ability, ''Sear'', launches a fireball that damages the first enemy hit in a line, and will also stun them if they are ablaze. His second ability, ''Pillar of Flame'', creates a powerful column of fire at a nearby area, damaging all foes inside and dealing bonus damage if they are ablaze. His third ability, ''Conflagration'', blasts a nearby enemy with fire and, if they are ablaze, releases an explosion that damages all foes around the target. His ultimate ability, ''Pyroclasm'', launches a powerful torrent of magma at a nearby target, which will then start bouncing between nearby enemy targets. If the magma hits an ablaze enemy, it will prioritize enemy champions in its next bounce.

Brand's alternate skins include Apocalyptic Brand, Vandal Brand, Cryocore Brand, and Zombie Brand.

'''Associated tropes:'''

* AllBikersAreHellsAngels: Vandal Brand.
* AndIMustScream: There is a very real chance that Kegan is ''still inside him somewhere''.
* AnIcePerson: His Cryocore skin.
* AxCrazy: He just wants to burn the world down.
* BilingualBonus: His name comes from the word "Firebrand", which means "one that creates unrest or strife." In German, Danish, Dutch and Swedish, "Brand" means "fire", specifically an out-of-control and dangerous fire.
* {{Cameo}}: Garen and Lux in his judgement.
* CaptainErsatz: Resembles a (marginally) saner version of Ignus from ''PlanescapeTorment''. His Sear animation (seen in [[http://www.leagueoflegends.com/board/attachment.php?attachmentid=150516&d=1302217270 this screenshot]]) greatly resembles the classic [[StreetFighter Hadouken]].
* EverythingsDeaderWithZombies: Zombie Brand
* {{Foil}}: To Lissandra. Brand is a evil being waiting for the world to end in fire, while Lissandra waits for its end in ice. Furthermore, their ability kits are counterpoint: while Brand's skillset is extremely volatile and bursty, based completely on incredible raw damage, Lissandra's abilities drain health over a long period of time with its constant harass and extremely large amounts of crowd control effects.
* ForegoneConclusion: The Journal of Justice contains reports of his various misdeeds as he sails about the coast starting gigantic fires. However, given that his champion background has already been written...
* GlassCannon: To the extreme. Brand's burst damage is extremely high, but without his abilities his damage is abysmal and he takes hits like paper.
* IncendiaryExponent: He's on fire, and so will everything facing him soon be.
* KillItWithFire[=/=]PlayingWithFire: [[CaptainObvious Ya think?]]
* MySuitIsAlsoSuper: Many players were fairly surprised that a perpetual ManOnFire would wear pants over top. There was asbestos clothing made for the purpose of being fire-resistant in real life, though. It's also worth noting that while his body looks like it's made of volcanic rock riddled with fiery cracks, he only actually EMITS fire from the palms of his hands and the top of his head.
* OmnicidalManiac: Exists only to burn down the world of men and yordles. ([[AndZoidberg Plus all the other races of Runeterra]]).
* SealedEvilInACan: When Kegan found it, it was trapped in a perfect cage of unmelting ice. [[WhatAnIdiot He couldn't resist touching it]].
* VolcanicVeins: Quite noticeably covering his whole body.
* WreathedInFlames: Especially his arms and the top of his head.

[[folder:Braum, the Heart of the Freljord]]

[[caption-width-right:116:[-[[http://images.wikia.com/leagueoflegends/images/8/89/Braum_Select.ogg The heart is the strongest muscle.]]-] ]]

->''"Hah! Next time, you get'' my ''back, huh?"''

Beloved throughout all of Freljord, Braum is a legend in the country. To the ferocious survivors like the Winter's Claw, he is a testament to how tenacity and strength can make one truly prosper in the Freljord, and to the calm and downtrodden, his everlasting kindness remains a beacon of hope. In one of the many tales about him, a young troll boy wandered into the Ice Witch's keep, and was trapped by a magical door that shut behind him. Braum was a goat farmer at the time, and when word reached him of the troll boy, he rushed to try and free him, but despite his strength, he couldn't open the magically sealed door. Instead of going through the door, he went through the mountain, digging his way through the rocks by punching. When he broke into the keep, he saved the troll boy, but his actions caused the keep to crumble and rocks to start falling. He ripped the door off it's handles and raised it above himself and the boy, shielding them from the oncoming avalanche. When the dust settled, Braum found there wasn't a scratch on the door, and so he kept it as his shield. The Institute of War notices his deeds and wants him to join the League of Legends and Braum easily accepts the invitation so others can be inspired by him.

Braum is a support-tank champion who excels at protecting and soaking damage for his allies, literally standing between them and any oncoming danger to stop it. His passive, ''Concussive Blows'', makes his basic attacks put a debuff on the target that stacks everytime they receive a basic attack from Braum or his allies. When the stacks reach four, the target is damaged and briefly stunned, but this effect can only happen on the same target every few seconds. His first ability, ''Winter's Bite'', shoots a blast of ice from his shield that will hit the first enemy in a line, damaging them based on Braum's maximum health, slowing them and applying one stack of his passive. With his second ability, ''Stand Behind Me'', Braum leaps to a nearby allied champion, authomatically positioning himself between them and the closest enemy champion, and also granting both of them a brief defensive stat bonus. His third ability, ''Unbreakable'', makes him raise his magical shield in a target direction, completely blocking the next basic attack or ability to strike him and reducing the damage from subsequent hits. Additionally, while the shield is raised, Braum gains bonus movement speed and automatically stops any projectiles that hit him, allowing him to act as a literal wall between his foes and his allies. With his ultimate ability, ''Glacial Fissure'', Braum slams the ground with his shield, creating an ice rift that damages and knocks up all enemies in its path and them remains on the battlefield for a few seconds, massively slowing any enemies inside.

Additional skins include Dragonslayer Braum.

'''Associated Tropes:'''

* AllThereInTheManual: He's obviously Freljordian, but you wouldn't know that he falls under Ashe's Avarosan tribe based on how affable he is with everyone from the Freljord.

* FantasyCounterpartCulture: To Celts. Well, at least his design anyway.
* FolkHero: Draws several aspects from this. His FriendToAllLivingThings nature, the fact his lore is presented as a bedtime story, and in said story his cleverness and kindness being played up as much as his strength.

* GoodScarsEvilScars: Dragonslayer Braum has a scar over his eye.
* GoThroughMe: Even moreso than the other shield-bearing support Leona. Braum's abilities are designed to protect those behind him and force enemies to deal with his much-harder-to-kill shell first.
* TheHeart: [[ShapedLikeItself Referred to in his title]]. He seems to like ''everybody'', even in the faction-divided Freljord. Fittingly, he is under Ashe's Avarosa tribe.
* HopeSpot: Really counting on that aimed ability to finish off Braum's teammate? Not if Unbreakable has anything to say about it. He even turns this trope around on champions who frequently cause this with their long-distance finisher ultimates (Ashe, Caitlyn, Draven, and Ezreal), emphasized further with his special lines for doing so.
* HuskyRusskie: His voice sounds like a much more genial [[VideoGame/TeamFortress2 Heavy]]. And boy is he credit to team!
* AnIcePerson: Like most of the other Freljordian champions, he has ice-themed abilities.
* ImprovisedWeapon: His massive shield which was originally a ''gate''.
* InstantAwesomeJustAddDragons: Dragonslayer Braum
* IShallTauntYou: Mostly averted. He has specific "taunts" for enemy champions, but these are mostly friendly interactions or challenges.
* LeaningOnTheFourthWall: Potentially, with [[http://images.wikia.com/leagueoflegends/images/5/54/Braum.attack17.ogg one of his quotes]]. A champion being played by an enemy could very easily be a champion being played by an ally in another game.
--> ''[[http://images.wikia.com/leagueoflegends/images/5/54/Braum.attack17.ogg "Today, we fight each other. Tomorrow, we may fight together."]]''
** This is a reference to the fact that the Champions in League of Legends are summoned to fight by different Summoners each match.
* LuckilyMyShieldWillProtectMe: Himself and his allies. His kit revolves around using his massive shield (Which is a magical door he ripped from the hinges), and blocking enemy assaults.
--> ''[[http://images.wikia.com/leagueoflegends/images/4/47/Braum.attack03.ogg "My shield is my sword."]]''
* MadeOfIron
* MegatonPunch: Some of his autoattack animations forgo the shield entirely and just smack the enemy with his fists.
* MightyGlacier[=/=]StoneWall: No pun intended. He's not meant to charge into enemy line's, rather, he stands between his allies and enemies and becomes an impenetrable wall that blocks any attempts to harm his allies.
* MommasBoy: Downplayed. Refers fondly to his mother's advice from time to time.
* NiceGuy: Kind and affable, [[SpiritedCompetitor even to his enemies]].
* NonHumanSidekick: The poro Braum saved in the Trials of the Poro video apparently followed him, appearing in Braum's joke emotes by standing on his shield and bouncing up along with Braum's movement of his shield.
* NoSell: A properly timed/placed Unbreakable can negate all opponents' projectiles for the duration, even continuous-firing ones like Miss Fortune's or Lucian's BulletHell ultimates.
* OlderThanTheyLook: As was admitted in development roundtable, he's old enough that current grandmothers heard stories about him when they were young. Considering he's from Freljord, he might even be one of the legendary [[TheAgeless Iceborn]].
* PlayingWithFire: Dragonslayer Braum.
* {{Pun}}: A the quote below will have you know, he's not above making these:
--> ''[[http://images.wikia.com/leagueoflegends/images/0/01/Braum.attack07.ogg "Let's show our friends the door"]]''
* RatedMForManly: Finally! A manly support! [[Characters/LeagueOfLegendsFive That isn't encrusted with gems!]] He even has a special taunt for Gragas or Graves saying the two of them should have a drink... [[FrothyMugsOfWater Of milk]]!
* ShieldBash: Naturally, since that gigantic shield is his only weapon. His animation for attacking towers even looks like he's using it as a battering ram.
--> ''[[http://images.wikia.com/leagueoflegends/images/9/97/Braum.attack10.ogg "Sometimes, shield becomes smashing board."]]''
* ShoutOut: An odd case. His belt buckle and the ram on his shield look oddly like the ram on the [[http://img3.wikia.nocookie.net/__cb20110208183102/leagueoflegends/images/9/9b/Quintessences_%283%29.png Greater Quintessence of Movement Speed]].
** With his constant shirtlessness, shear manliness, and exquisite mustache, one could call him Freljord's answer to [[TeamFortress2 Saxton Hale.]]
** His Ultimate is often considered to be similar to a ''VideoGame/{{Dota 2}}'' skill belonging to Earthshaker, Fissure.
* SpiritedCompetitor: Thinks the League is a huge amount of fun, and compliments his opponents for their efforts.
--> ''[[http://images.wikia.com/leagueoflegends/images/c/c1/Braum.caitlyzreal01.ogg "Good shot! You'll get them next time!"]]
* SupportPartyMember: Intended to be a "true" defensive tank support, in contrast to the aggressive tank supports Leona and Thresh.
* TakingTheBullet: Unbreakable has him intercept projectiles likely meant for his allies. Even though they hit his shield, they still do (reduced) damage to him.
* TattooAsCharacterType: The tattoos on his torso are very heavily inspired by the Ancient Celts.
* ThirdPersonPerson: Downplayed - Unlike someone like Draven, he uses both 'I' and this trope.

* WalkingShirtlessScene: Apart from his shoulder-guard and his ginormous belt.

[[caption-width-right:116:[-[[http://images.wikia.com/leagueoflegends/images/9/9a/Caitlyn_Select.ogg I'm on the case.]]-] ]]

->''"Go ahead, run. I'll give you a five minute head start."''
-->-- '''Caitlyn''', from her book ''Willing Apprehension''

Born in a technological wonderland burdened by thieves, Caitlyn's career in law enforcement began at a young age. Hunting down brigands with the aid of [[{{Magitek}} techmaturgical devices]], she quickly erased the threat of organized crime in Piltover. However, the peace was broken again in a series of thefts that not even Caitlyn could track, and the CallingCard left at each crime scene only frustrated her. She turned to the League to train herself further, and make connections that could guide her to this mystery bandit "C". Recently, she has acquired a partner, Vi.

Caitlyn is a marksman champion, adept at using her humongous range to keep her opponents at bay while sniping them from afar. Her passive, ''Headshot'', allows her next basic attack after a few to deal increased damage, the counter doubling if she's attacking from brush. Her first ability, ''Piltover Peacemaker'', fires a long-range piercing harpoon that damages all enemies in a line. Her ultimate ability, ''Ace in the Hole'', fires a highly damaging sniper shot at a single enemy champion from a ridiculous range, but the bullet can be intercepted by another enemy mid-flight.

Caitlyn's alternative skins include Sheriff Caitlyn, Resistance Caitlyn, Safari Caitlyn, Arctic Warfare Caitlyn, and Officer Caitlyn.

'''Associated tropes:'''

* AbnormalAmmo: It's difficult to see, but her rifle shoots ball-made-of-gears projectiles with a strong SteamPunk influence. This is more obvious when her ultimate fires a gigantic one that can be seen flying across the field.
** That's without mentioning it can also fire some kind of strange harpoon and a large trawl net.
* ActionGirl: More comfortable from a distance, but she's still extremely capable.
* BadassNormal: All she's got is her gun and knowledge of opposing champions.
* BangBangBANG: Her rifle shots normally sound like they have a HollywoodSilencer then sound noticeably louder when they land a critical hit. This trope can literally happen has she fires several times in a row and gets her passive off.
* [[BashBrothers Bash Sisters]]: With Vi.
* BearTrap: Well, Yordle Snap Trap baited with a cupcake. Notable for being the only non-ultimate full stun an ADC has in their arsenal besides Vayne's Condemn.
* {{BFG}}: That rifle is as tall and almost as thick as her!
* BoringButPractical: Caitlyn's teamfighting mostly involves standing at the very edge of the fray and firing into it, occasionally using 90 Caliber Net when enemies get too close. Not as flashy as ADC's who can dash around the battlefield outplaying their enemies (Ezreal, Vayne, etc.) or charge right into the fight with their team (Sivir, Graves, etc.) but Caitlyn is regarded as one of the safest ADC's for a reason, and you can't deal any damage while you're dead.
* BritishAccents: Fake or real, it makes her sound sexier.
* BoomHeadShot: Her passive -- every few shots, Caitlyn gets to deal extra damage on a single attack. One of her attack quotes even says this.
* ByTheBookCop: In contrast with her partner Vi's CowboyCop.
* CaptainErsatz: Of Kardel Sharpeye the Dwarven Sniper from ''Defense of the Ancients''.
* ColdSniper: Her speech is quite emotionless.
* CrosshairAware: Everyone on both teams can see who Caitlyn locks onto for her ultimate seconds before it connects, leaving the possibility for TakingTheBullet.
* CrutchCharacter: Generally considered a strong laner due to her enormous attack range and damaging Q to "bully" other marksmen, but does not scale as well as them for later teamfights. Of course a Caitlyn player can definitely capitalize on her early strength to shut down her opponent and get fed so that her below-average late game doesn't even matter.
* DependingOnTheArtist: Her Chinese artwork looks considerably paler, slimmer and less stern.
* ExactlyWhatIAimedAt: It's possible to invoke a BatmanGambit to take out a low-health target by targeting one of their allies instead so he/she [[TakingTheBullet takes the bullet]] since just gunning for the real target may cause a HeroicSacrifice from the less-important teammate.
* GreatWhiteHunter: Her Safari skin invokes this idea.
* FairCop: Being a law-enforcer she naturally qualifies, but the trope is directly invoked by her Officer Caitlyn skin.
* FingerLessGloves: She wears them.
* FiringOneHanded: Her Piltover Peacemaker ability has her fire her rifle with one hand. [[FanDumb The outrage at this was spectacular]].
* {{Foil}}: To Vi, obviously. Caitlyn is a calm, collected, matter-of-fact ConsummateProfessional who likes to get things done as quickly and efficiently as possible, while Vi is a rude, aggressive, and violent BloodKnight who couldn't care less about doing a clean job as long as she gets a good fight out of it.
** Gameplay wise, she's one to Jinx. Caitlyn is a long-ranged precision sniper who's best when hanging just at the edge of a team fight and playing it fairly safe. Jinx is an incredibly aggressive and fairly close ranged carry who focuses on indiscriminate [=AoE=] with explosives.
* GameplayAndStoryIntegration: She wields a sniper rifle- this gives her one of the largest autoattack ranges in the game [[note]]Tristana beats her near level 18 and both Twitch and Kogmaw do too only with an ability activated.[[/note]], outranging the ranged carries wielding [[BreadEggsMilkSquick pistols, shotguns, blunderbusses, bows, crossbows, boomerangs, magic bolts, thrown axes, and their own vomit.]]
** "On The Case: Piltover's Finest" is a hidden buff that triggers when Caitlyn and Vi are on the same team, [[ThePowerOfFriendship giving them each 1 bonus gold for every kill Vi assists Caitlyn in, and vice-versa]].
* GlassCannon: Par for the course for being a marksman.
* GreatDetective: Who only lost one suspect. Possibly Twisted Fate, but it's assumed that "C" might be a new champion. Someday.
* HollywoodSilencer: Her rifle makes the soft "pfft" sound though it's about as loud as other ranged autoattacks and is recognizable enough to give her presence away regardless.
* InUniverseNickname: She gets called "Cupcake" affectionately by Vi and "[[NiceHat Hat Lady]]" as a petty insult by Jinx.
* LaResistance: Her Resistance skin.
* LawOfInverseRecoil: Her 90 Caliber Net launches her backwards. Considering the fact that it's probably a really heavy net, this recoil is somewhat understandable.
* MiniDressOfPower: Possible interpretation of her classic skin, but her Officer Caitlyn skin has this.
* MsFanservice: On release she was pretty restrained compared to [[{{Stripperiffic}} the usual LoL girl]], but her [[http://images.wikia.com/leagueoflegends/images/2/23/Caitlyn_OfficerSkin.jpg Officer Caitlyn]] skin makes her look basically [[FairCop like a pole dancer in a uniform fetish costume]]. She also comments about fuzzy cuffs, which is meant to say she isn't playing nice
* NiceHat: Definitely not what you'd expect for sniper garb.
* OfCorsetsSexy: Her "dress" is essentially a corset with a short skirt attached.
* OneHitPolykill: Her Piltover Peacemaker ability fires a shot that damages all enemies hit in a line as it travels, but loses 10% damage per target hit up to a 50% decrease. Averted by her ultimate ability, Ace in the Hole, as it can only hit one champion, [[TakingTheBullet no matter who you originally targeted while it travels]].
* ReasonableAuthorityFigure: Pardoned Vi when she heard about Vi's activities [[HunterOfHisOwnKind stealing from other criminals]] instead of arresting her.
* RedOniBlueOni: The blue to Vi's red.
* ShesAllGrownUp: Her lore says Cait grew "into a ravishing beauty".
* [[ShortRangeGuyLongRangeGuy Short Range Gal, Long Range Gal]]: The long range half of this duo with Vi.
* SniperRifle: Duh.
* TheOneThatGotAway: Cait only lost one suspect during her entire career, but yet can't stop thinking about him/her and wanting to catch said person. She has joined the League to become better and later succeed in apprehending that suspect.
* RecoilBoost: Firing her 90 Caliber Net pushes her back in the direction she fires it. This makes it useless for attempting to slow fleeing enemies, but is perfect to get out of a bad situation or to quickly close distance to a target.
* SteamPunk: She's from Piltover after all.
* TakingTheBullet: Cait's ultimate is a sniper shot, but someone can intercept the bullet for their teammate to fulfill this trope.
* TechnologyPorn: Well, her parents are from Piltover. You had to expect this when you saw her gadgets.
* TooManyBelts: One around her waist and two around each leg, not to mention her multiple armbands.
* TomboyAndGirlyGirl: The girly girl to Vi's "tomboy".
* TheWildWest: Her duties as a sheriff don't end, regardless of the theme of her skin.
* ZettaiRyouiki: She has belts in place of stockings but still manages to achieve a similar effect. [[http://www.leagueoflegends.com/board/attachment.php?attachmentid=93728&d=1293486059 Can this even be considered a skirt?]]

[[quoteright:120:http://static.tvtropes.org/pmwiki/pub/images/Cassiopeia_Square_0_9546.png]]
[[caption-width-right:116:[-[[http://images.wikia.com/leagueoflegends/images/0/07/Cassiopeia_Select.ogg Don't you find me... beautiful?]]-] ]]

->'''Voiced by:''' Creator/KarenStrassman

->''"Though she may have appeared the innocent flower, she was the serpent underneath it."''
-->–-'''Katarina'''

The youngest daughter of the Du Couteau family, Cassiopeia used her wiles to seduce foreigners and obtain political secrets for Noxus. According to past lore, she ran afoul of a man from Freljord, taking and breaking an oath of secrecy on his sword. As punishment, she was cursed to a half-serpent form. She hence joined the League to serve Noxus in the only other way she could. After Sivir's rework the lore was changed to having both of them (Cassiopeia's paying Sivir for her help) enter an old tomb in search of power, sadly Cassio didn't listen to Sivir's GenreSavvy warning about possible traps. The tomb did have a secret, sadly that same place left Cassiopeia cursed to look like a Lamia.

Cassiopeia is a mage champion specialized in harrassing opponents from afar and dealing powerful sustained single target damage with her poisons. Her passive, ''Deadly Cadence'', reduces the mana cost of subsequent spells after casting one, stacking up to five times. Her first ability, ''Noxious Blast'', creates a poison explosion at a small nearby area that damages enemies over time and grants her a movement speed bonus if she hits an enemy champion. Her second ability, ''Miasma'', creates a growing cloud of poison at a nearby area that damages over time and slows any enemies that pass throught it. Her third ability, ''Twin Fang'', fires fangs at an enemy target, the ability having an extremely short cooldown if the target was poisoned when they hit. Her ultimate ability, ''Petrifying Gaze'', blasts all enemies in a cone in front of Cassiopeia with her gaze, slowing them if they're facing away from her and briefly turning them to stone if they are facing towards her.

Cassiopeia's alternate skins include Desperada Cassiopeia, Siren Cassiopeia, Mythic Cassiopeia and Jade Fang Cassiopeia.

'''Associated tropes:'''

* BadAssFamily: She's Katarina's sister.
* BodyHorror: Could say this happened to her. This is definitely her opinion of it.
* ChildSoldier: While Katarina assassinated targets, Cassi spied for the family.
* {{Combos}}: Use Twin Fang on a poisoned target to make the cooldown of it be a minimal 0.5 seconds and allow you to spam Twin Fang some more. The cooldown of Noxious Blast matching the duration of its poison effect can allow Cassiopeia to constantly use Twin Fang with Deadly Cadence making the mana-cost minor... [[DifficultButAwesome that is, as long as you hit Noxious Blast]].
* CursedWithAwesome: Could say this due to all the new powers that came along with it, or not.
* DifficultButAwesome: In Riot's character ratings, she's one of three champions with a full difficulty of 100, and with good reason. If you can play her well she can put out an INSANE amount of damage with an impressive range. However, her spell combo is very unforgiving as it requires a lot of aiming to spread poison, and even just one misplaced cast of Twin Fang will put it on its full cooldown and neuter your damage output. This is further reflected with who uses her: rarely seen at most skill levels (and terribly used for most of those players), yet is regarded by pros as one of the most difficult champions to lane against.
* DisappearedDad: As of Issue 11 of the Journal. Her Judgement indicates her reason for joining the League was to find out who killed him, and to take revenge.
* EvilCounterpart: To Lux - the younger sisters to rivals Garen/Katarina.
* FamilyUnfriendlyDeath: Turns to stone with a shriek, then [[LiterallyShatteredLives falls on her side and smashes into pieces]].
* FemmeFatalons: She has them on her hands, basically. Doesn't use them in combat, although in her back story she apparently ripped a group of servants limb from limb when in shock at the horror of her transformation.
* {{Foil}}: Again, to Lux. Lux is the good little sister of a high-ranking general, whereas Cass is evil. In terms of abilities, they're polar opposites. Lux is designed around heavy burst, whereas Cassiopeia is made for consistent damage.
* FragileSpeedster: She's as [[SquishyWizard squishy as any other wizard]], but unlike most of them, has a speed boost for herself in the Noxious Blast ability that can be constantly refreshed due to its very low cooldown... as long as she hits it. A fair portion of her damage also comes from spamming Twin Fang on poisoned targets, making her fit this trope better than mages who have higher damage burst spells on long cooldowns.
* GainaxBounce: Currently the only example in the League.
* GlassCannon: Her damage output is potentially ''devastating'', but she's extremely fragile and dependent on maintaining a range with a slow and a speed boost, with her only real CC being a bit unreliable. As a tradeoff, she's capable of doing much more damage than other mages with her low cooldowns, but takes longer to reach the same level of damage as most mages in the start of a fight, who generally cast off all their abilities as quickly as possible and then run away while waiting for their cooldowns to refresh. Cass, on the other hand, relies on opening up with her ultimate, then laying down Miasma and proceeding to rapidly spam Noxious Blast and Twin Fang while using the speed boost from Noxious Blast to twist and weave through the enemy ranks.
* GlowingEyesOfDoom: You better hope that you're not looking into them when she uses Petrifying Gaze...
* GorgeousGorgon: Despite now being a monstrous lamia and despite even Cassiopeia claiming she is now hideous, she is ''still'' extremely attractive.
* GreekMythology: Basically she's the League's Medusa, and one of her skins is a Siren.
* HoneyTrap: Her day job prior to being cursed, which rather ruined that career for her.
* {{Medusa}}: ''Will'' remind you of her, and her Mythic skin is a direct homage to the legend.
* TheOathBreaker: How she became cursed in the first place.
* SnakePeople: Changes from woman to snake at about her waist.
* SnakesAreSexy: One of the most seductive champions in the League.
* TakenForGranite: If you look at her when her ultimate hits you, you're stunned with the visual effect being your champion frozen into stone for its duration. Otherwise, it just slows you down.
* UniversalPoison: Any type of poison will do for her Twin Fang's cooldown refresh. This includes Singed and Teemo's.
* TheVamp: Prior to her transformation, and the reason for it in the first place.
* TheWildWest: Her Desperada skin gives her a rattlesnake-like appearance.

[[folder:Cho'Gath, the Terror of the Void]]
[[quoteright:120:http://static.tvtropes.org/pmwiki/pub/images/ChoGathSquare_5671.png]]
[[caption-width-right:116:[-[[http://images.wikia.com/leagueoflegends/images/7/7e/Greenterror.choose.ogg You'd wish the world you know to end! Yeeeesssss...]]-] ]]

->'''Voiced by:''' J. S. Gilbert

->''"Woe betides the day when Cho'Gath grows weary of the League."''

An unimaginable horror from the Void, a place lost between dimensions and crawling with similar otherworldly beasts. Cho'Gath attempted to break into the physical realm to devour and make it into a hellish playground, but got caught in a summon spell and ended up bound by the League. It is heavily implied that it only allows himself to be bound because it entertains him, and that he would be able to release himself with relative ease if he wanted to.

Cho'Gath's alternate skins include Nightmare Cho'Gath, Loch Ness Cho'Gath, Gentleman Cho'Gath, Jurassic Cho’Gath, and Battlecast Prime Cho'Gath.

'''Associated tropes:'''

* AchillesHeel: Just like other tanks with large health pools, Cho'Gath gets shredded by abilities/attacks that damage his health by a percentage. Granted, though this counters his HP gains through Feast stacks, he gets enough bonus HP so that he doesn't necessarily ''have'' to stack tons of it through items and can instead focus on other defensive stats or damage.
** Some more pronounced and specific weaknesses are his mobility and lack of actual tank abilities. He has absolutely ''zero'' dashs, blinks, taunts, or buffs of ''any'' kind, such as speed, armour, magic resistance. While his passive grants him small amounts of health for each unit killed, it is useless in team fights. His only method of escaping is knocking up and slowing opponents with the easily avoidable Rupture. Dodge that and you'll whittle him down.
* AffablyEvil[=/=]FauxAffablyEvil: Gentleman Cho'Gath is cheerfully polite.
* ArmorPiercingAttack: Feast deals 600+ true damage instantly at max rank. If a Cho'Gath manages to reach you when you're low, nothing short of an invulnerability ability is going to save you.
* AttackOfTheFiftyFootWhatever: Well, not quite 50 feet, but a fully stacked Cho'Gath is ''huge''. Most tanks are tanks in the metaphorical sense and are actually average-sized, Cho'Gath really is an unstoppable monstrosity that marches in front of his team and can even physically shelter the smaller members with his sheer size.
* BadassBoast: Battlecast Prime Cho'Gath gives us this gem:
-->''[[http://images.wikia.com/leagueoflegends/images/7/7e/BattleCastChogath.attack9.ogg "Afraid of the dark? Thats my shadow.]]"''
* BoringButPractical: His ultimate, Feast, doesn't look flashy at all - all that shows is a small fountain of blood. And with the right build it can hit for over 1200 unavoidable true damage. It's also further practical as a finishing move in that it gives Cho'Gath 1 Feast stack (additional max HP) for finishing with it.
* CardboardPrison: It's been explicitly stated that the binding magic used to keep him under the League's control could be dispelled with incredible ease by him if he actually wanted to, but that he allows himself to stay bound because he finds it highly amusing (and also presumably because it gives him plenty of material to plot with and lures the Summoners into a false sense of security, making his job even easier when his day of action finally comes).
* DifficultButAwesome: While his Vorpal Spikes and Feast don't really need skill to hit, his other two abilties need good aim to be of any use. Rupture has a long delay and a obvious visual on the target area, while Feral Scream has short range and can be outrun by fleeing opponents. That said they are both strong [=AoE=] nukes and apply some nice crowd control, so landing them on even a few enemies can spell death for them.
* DemBones: His Jurassic skin.
* EldritchAbomination: Described as the 'poster boy' for [[EldritchLocation The Void]] by WordOfGod: A being with alien appearance who eats a lot.
* EmeraldPower: His eyes glow green.
* EvilBrit‎: His Gentleman skin wears a suit, top hat, and monocle, and speaks in an [[SmartPeopleSpeakTheQueensEnglish RP accent]].
* ExtremeOmnivore: Cho'Gath can eat: humans, Yordles, [[TelescopingRobot robots]], [[EskimoLand humans]] [[ABoyAndHisX riding]] [[BigfootSasquatchAndYeti yetis]], [[MiniMecha Yordles riding robots]], [[RobotGirl formerly human robots]], [[ElementalEmbodiment elementals]], [[LivingShadow shadows]], [[ALoadOfBull minotaurs]], [[OurLichesAreDifferent liches]], giant armadillos, anthropomorphic dogs, anthropomorphic crocodiles, [[OurWerewolvesAreDifferent werewolves]], [[OurVampiresAreDifferent vampires]], [[VampireHunter vampire hunters]], [[OurVampiresAreDifferent Vampire Kitsune]], [[RuleOfThree Yordle]] [[{{Mummy}} mummies]], [[OurGhostsAreDifferent wraiths]], [[GorgeousGorgon gorgons]], [[{{Ninja}} human ninjas]], [[RunningGag Yordle ninjas]], [[AnIcePerson icy]] [[{{Phoenix}} phoenixes]], [[OurAngelsAreDifferent angels]], [[FallenAngel other angels]], other [[EldritchAbomination Eldritch Abominations]], [[ScaryScarecrows scarecrows]], [[WolfTropes wolves]], [[OurDemonsAreDifferent scary demons]], [[{{Golem}} golems]], [[HumanoidAbomination scary humanoid demons]], [[WhenTreesAttack mobile trees]], [[OurTrollsAreDifferent trolls]], [[OurGargoylesRock gargoyles]], [[OurZombiesAreDifferent zombies]], [[RunningGag Yordle]] [[GadgeteerGenius inventors]], [[SuspiciouslySpecificDenial ''totally'']] [[AvertedTrope non-]][[OurDwarvesAreAllTheSame dwarves]], [[SiliconBasedLife crystalline]] [[ScaryScorpions scorpions]], [[OurDragonsAreDifferent dragons]], [[ThePowerOfRock METAL suits of armor]], [[GreenSkinnedSpaceBabe Purple Skinned Star Babes]], [[VoluntaryShapeshifting human-raven-things]], [[RunningGag Yordles]], giant lizards, [[YouDirtyRat anthropomorphic rats]], [[StockNessMonster sea monsters]], [[FrankensteinsMonster zombie cyborg]] [[GiantEnemyCrab crab things]][[JourneyToTheWest anthropomorphic monkeys]], [[RunningGag Yordles]], [[MirrorMatch himself]], [[MyFriendsAndZoidberg and]] [[OverusedRunningGag Yordles]].
* FakeDifficulty: His Feast ability grants him extra health; this is not a problem. It also physically enlarges him, bringing him from slightly larger than average (but still sane) to being so large that his GlassCannon teammates can [[ObstructiveForeground walk behind him so that enemies can't even click on them to attack them]], forcing them instead to attack [[StoneWall Cho'Gath with his increased health]].
* GeniusBruiser: Stated to be both extremely intelligent and capable of undoing high-level magic.
* GreenEyes: With smoke coming out of them.
** GlowingEyesOfDoom: Pretty clear that he's not a good guy.
** GlowingEyelightsOfUndeath: Has red ones in his Jurassic skin.
* HumansThroughAlienEyes: Non-Void life seems to absolutely disgust and repulse him.
-->''[[http://images.wikia.com/leagueoflegends/images/4/41/Greenterror.move5.ogg "Your races are a scourge upon the world!]]"''
* HyperactiveMetabolism: Finishing off anything with Feast will immediately increase his maximum health by a significant amount up to 6 times.
* JackOfAllStats: Cho'Gath is noted for just how damn ''versatile'' he is, being a Tank with excellent crowd control and farming abilities and a respectable damage output. He is capable of fulfilling the required roles for a Top, Mid, Bottom ''and'' Jungler, and provided he's well fed his passive will prevent him from getting ganked easily. A good Cho'Gath player will be ''feared'' simply because it is just so damn hard to figure out what role he'll be playing on the battlefield until it's too late.
* LargeHam: '''All three''' [[http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=bvMKMipl2_o of]] [[http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=_pzvPXCV6ds his]] [[http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=TXkQlZcvRnY voices]].
* MacrossMissileMassacre: His Vorpal Spikes if he has the Battlecast Prime skin.
* MagikarpPower: While he starts off fairly decent and can in fact fill several roles on the battlefield, if a player doesn't slap him down early a Cho'Gath with the right build will become a massive wall of insectoid polygons with a gargantuan HP pool and the ability to dish out serious pain that will require a ''lot'' of work to take down. Once he reaches level 6, you have about 6 minutes to kill him before he reaches critical size and health levels from Feast- even killing him and making him lose valuable stacks can be recovered from in a few minutes.
* MightyGlacier: Nigh-unkillable and packs a lot of deadly CC... if you let him catch up to you, that is.
* MundaneUtility: As it turns out, the giant speakers on Battlecast Cho'gath that he uses to fire concussive sound blasts are also handy for [[http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=lxXawxLhWiM playing a neat little dance beat]].
* NonHumanUndead: In his Jurassic skin he is a walking skeleton.
* NotTheIntendedUse: Despite being a tank, Cho'Gath has overall AP scalings higher than many mages. With an AP build, Cho'Gath could simply spam Rupture over and over, and while it could be dodged, it knocks you up and could shave off ''half'' your health if it hits you as a squishy. Did we mention it is AoE?
* ObstructiveForeground: Cho'Gath doesn't need a taunt like Shen to draw fire for his teammates, he can just stand over the small members and physically prevent anything from targeting them.
* OmnicidalManiac: He wants to eat ''everything''.
* PhotoshopFilterOfEvil: His Nightmare skin is an eye colour change away from this, on top of being an ''Franchise/{{Alien}}'' reference.
* PowerEchoes: His voice is heavily distorted, giving off a VoiceOfTheLegion effect.
* PunctuationShaker: As is typical of Void monsters, his name is two syllables split by an apostrophe.
* SealedEvilInACan: A shoddilly made can at that, see CardboardPrison
* RobotMe: His Battlecast Prime skin.
* SciFiWritersHave/NoSenseOfEnergy: His Feral Scream ability is released by "451 Exawatt Omnisonic Speakers" in his Battlecast Prime skin. That is about 2600 times the power Earth receives from the sun, and translates to 326 decibels. In 1 second, this Feral Scream releases more energy than 2000 Tsar Bombas, the more powerful nuclear device in history, or 100 gigatons of TNT.
** To make it even more hilarious, the damage is fairly small-most champs simply shrug this immense amount of power off. The silence is not as easily ignored, however.
* ShockwaveStomp: Rupture has the variant where stomping on the ground can cause a shockwave blast in a different location than the stomp.
* SplashDamageAbuse: A common way to farm an entire wave at once and harass the enemy hiding behind said wave simultaneously is to toggle Vorpal Spikes on and attack the frontmost minion so as to damage everything behind it.
* SpikeShooter: His Vorpal Spikes.
* StockNessMonster: His Loch Ness skin.
* StoneWall: A large portion of his laning ability comes from his passive, which allows him to recover health and mana whenever he kills something. Coupled with his exceptional farming ability, a good Cho can easily stay in lane indefinitely. At late game, with all six Feast stacks and a more or less completed build, Cho is basically unkillable unless the whole team focuses him (and even then, he won't be going down fast). If you ignore him, he'll crowd-control you while his teammates kill you. If you focus him, his teammates will whoop your ass while you are trying to kill the damn behemoth.
* TrojanPrisoner: Implied to be the reason why he hasn't freed himself, as it's explicitly stated that he could undo the binding magic that keeps him under the League's control with very little difficulty if he wanted to.
* VitriolicBestBuds: Cho'Gath and Kog'Maw, referenced in his Gentleman skin. "Isn't it funny? How your best friend can just....blow up like that!" This is a reference to the fact that Kog'Maw explodes upon death, due to his passive. The two go perfectly together on a team, Cho'Gath being massive enough to hide the insane damage dealer that is Kog'Maw's tiny form. When on opposite teams though, they're the worst enemies. Kog'Maw takes away percent HP with his attacks, which is what Cho'Gath stacks naturally, whereas Cho'Gath has a knock up, which is the only CC Kog'Maw can't cleanse out of.
* [[WhyDontYouJustShootHim Why Don't You Just Eat Him:]] Cho'Gath solves problems exactly how you'd expect a large, hungry Voidborn monstrosity would.

->''"He is Corki -– death from above!"''

A grizzled, old daredevil Yordle pilot who flies in a {{Magitek}} gyrocopter invented by Heimerdinger and speaks like a redneck World War flying ace. He is noted for his extreme battle prowess, as well as his almost suicidal bravery. When he found himself out of action due to the end of open hostilities, he joined the League in search of a challenge.

Corki is a marksman champion who uses a variety of powerful weaponry that gives him strong burst and area-of-effect damage. His passive, ''Hextech Shrapnel Shells'', makes his basic attacks deal a small amount of bonus true damage that ignores defensive stats. Every fourth missile fired will be a ''Big One'' that deals bonus damage and has a bigger explosion range.

Corki's alternate skins include UFO Corki, Red Baron Corki, Ice Toboggan Corki, Hot Rod Corki, Urfrider Corki and Dragonwing Corki.

'''Associated tropes:'''

* AcePilot: Right down to his aviator slang dialogue. And see also Getting Crap Past the Radar.
-->''[[http://images.wikia.com/leagueoflegends/images/c/c1/Corki.attack3.ogg "It's a Charlie Foxtrot!"]]''
* BadassMustache: A quite long one.
* CaptainErsatz: Anyone who played Warcraft III will see a resemblance between [[http://www.leagueoflegends.com/champions/view/42/corki_the_daring_bombardier him]] and the [[http://www.wowwiki.com/Flying_Machine_(Warcraft_III) Flying Machine unit]]. His voice sounds nearly identical to Peppy's from the VideoGame/StarFox series.
* ClusterFBomb: A decent amount of the lingo he's saying is obscene...
* DifficultButAwesome: If you can land those missiles, you have a far-ranged harassment and farming ability. If you miss, they're only worth a Sheen or Trinity Force proc if you have those items. His Gatling Gun provides a good amount of armour reduction and damage in an [=AoE=], but moving away from the enemy at all while it's active is likely to waste a significant part of its potential... while moving away from the enemy tends to be what ranged carries are likely to be doing a lot of the time since people want them dead.
* FlyingSaucer: Rides one in his UFO skin.
* FunWithAcronyms:
** Corki's gyrocopter as it is now evolved from his test-flying the original design of the Reconnaissance Operations Front-Line Copter. Yes, it's a [=ROFLCopter=].
** His /joke:
-->''[[http://images.wikia.com/leagueoflegends/images/4/48/Corki.joke.ogg "Lima Oscar Lima!"]]''
* GettingCrapPastTheRadar: If you understood his lingo, it's pretty dirty.
* KillItWithFire: He has phosphorous bombs, and if the enemy is following you, Corki may make a quick dash away by flying up in his plane, with napalm being left in his wake for anyone that follows you.
* MacrossMissileMassacre: You can fire your missiles as soon as you get them, ''or'', you can save up all seven to fire very soon after each other.
* MoreDakka: One of his moves is a pair of gatling guns that fire off continuously for a few seconds when activated, damaging units in a cone area and shredding their armor temporarily.
* OldSoldier: Definitely plays up the WWII vet type.
* PornStache: [[http://images2.wikia.nocookie.net/__cb20100210052859/leagueoflegends/images/c/c3/Corki_OriginalSkin.jpg His moustache]] causes actual pornstars everywhere to feel inadaquete.
* [[TitleDrop Abbreviation of Title Drop]]: In his joke does this, though it has the double meaning of the abbreviation "Laugh Out Loud" as well.
