* LimitedWardrobe: In the amusement park episode, Ayano takes her time picking between three identical outfits, which are all the school uniform she always wears.

* TomboyWithAGirlyStreak: Ayano's brash, rebellious, hot-tempered and unrefined, but she has a serious SweetTooth and seems to really like the colour pink, with it being the colour of her pajamas and a dress she wears in one episode.

* JerkassHasAPoint: When the [[spoiler: Fuga Clan]] is revealed to have been behind the murders of several Kannagis [[spoiler: and have also kidnapped Ren]], Kazuma blames the Kannagi family for having brought it out on themselves due to their [[FantasticRacism derisive treatment]] against Wind-Magic Practioners and other non Fire-Practioners. * UnscrupulousHero: Kazuma is a highly selfish and apathetic person in general, rarely doing heroism for reasons that don't have any self-interest. He also has no issues with killing anyone who makes themselves his enemy. Despite that, he will go to hell and back to protect his loved ones and will ''never'' allow innocent lives to be sacrificed. Toned significantly in the anime, to the point where he's more of a PragmaticHero.
* WorfHadTheFlu: A justified version with Kazuma vs. Ayano late in the series. Kazuma's evil persona is sufficiently less powerful than his norm that Ayano (who usually can't hold a candle to him) is finally able to win a bout. Kazuma even lampshades this when he begins returning to his senses.

Four years later, at the age of twenty two, he returns to Japan as the most powerful master of Wind Magic to have ever existed, possessing god-like powers. As a "Fūjutsushi" (風術師?, Wind Technique Practitioner), Kazuma's powers are extensive and he is by far the most powerful character in the series. Apart from being able to fly even while holding three people, Kazuma can also launch blasts of wind that act as blades and manipulate wind spirits to create a barrier, protecting his body from physical harm or reflecting light in order to camouflage himself.
