A British wizard under the employ of the Ministry of Magic's "Werewolf Capture Unit" who would much rather see them outright ''destroyed''. You also meet him during the Hallowe'en event, having been sent to deal with the escaped Fenrir Greyback.

* AmbiguouslyAbsentParent: Conspicuously absent, and often the mother is mentioned alone when both should be.

The mysterious organization whose motivations are unknown.

* AndYourLittleDogToo: For much of Year 5, 'R' tries to claim the life of one of the Player's innocent friends who are not as involved in the plot as the Player is. They manage to thwart it in Year 5, but 'R' makes good on their promise and through Rakepick, murders Rowan.
* TheChessmaster: Seemed to have been manipulating events from all the way back during Jacob's school days.
* GreaterScopeVillain: While you come across several enemies along the way, human and otherwise, R is actively hindering your progress from the outside, even going so far as to use surrogates to try and assassinate you; later even trying to kidnap you. Who (or what) 'R' actually is and what their goals are seem to be the main thrust of the Mystery. All that is known about 'R' is it's some nefarious group known as the "Cabal" that is trying to open the Cursed Vaults to acquire some unknown treasure (that was never there) and that they seem value enlightenment and immortality.
* OnlyKnownByTheirNickname: The only clue you have as to the identity of the group is through letters they have written, and signed only as "-R."
* WeCanRuleTogether: Seem very motivated into recruiting the player into the fold and making them their future leader, even resorting to attempted kidnapping. Jacob was also unwittingly a candidate to the cabal and Merula actually ''joined them''.

A young witch whose house matches the player's. She's renowned as an ace Chaser and from a prominent Quidditch family, but she's not the best academically.

A Gryffindor student in Bill's year whom he develops a crush on. She is popular, but is arrogant and scornful towards others.

A Griffyndor who, until much, ''much'' later (as in July of 2021 in real time, sixth year in the game's setting) was only ever known as "''Leviosa'' Kid", because he struggled with performing ''Wingardium Leviosa'' and received in-class tutoring from the PC. Eager to prove his worth, he asks for help in becoming a Curse-Breaker.

* BewareTheNiceOnes: While Patricia is very polite, understanding and approachable, many characters have warned the PlayerCharacter to not cross her.

* KnightOfCerebus: With her arrival, the curses of the vaults becomes more dangerous and personal. [[spoiler:Beatrice, someone MC personally knows, is trapped indefinitely in it until the portrait curse is broken. And then came Rakepick's betrayal and murder of Rowan, both sending a lot of characters into PTSD territory.]]
* LaserGuidedKarma: If the Player choose to [[spoiler:trap her in the Sunken Vault forever. She got dealt the same hand she had dealt to Jacob when she left him in the Buried Vault for eight years]]. Now she gets to [[spoiler:suffer a much more painful fate than Jacob did]]. Rakepick got what she deserved, and then some.
