Much like Jacob, Patricia was a firm believer during her time at school that the Cursed Vaults existed, but her warnings were unheeded by the faculty.

Even after Patricia ends up serving as a mentor for the PlayerCharacter, teaching them several new charms and saving them from the mysterious cloaked wizard [[spoiler:who turned out to be Ben Copper]], several of the cast members are still slow to trust her. Patricia even goes as far as to [[spoiler:break the player character's wand]] and confiscate the Maurader's map. Whether she was doing all this to keep the Player Character safe or to simply keep them from interfering is up to debate. [[spoiler:Ceases to be ambiguous when she murders Rowan in Year 6.]]
