* ExpressiveHair: In the anime her hair sometimes spikes up slightly to go with her negative reactions, whether it be fear/anxiety or annoyance (like the time she glares at a few guys who are calling Karasuno mediocre). Her hair also flies wildly when she mimics the way Yamaguchi was desperately screaming out "Tsukki" when he went to confront him.

* NervousWreck: Especially earlier on, thanks to her low self-esteem. Yachi’s first reaction to thinking she forgot Hinata and Kageyama’s names after meeting them once is to panic over the fact that she might not get a job because she isn’t good at memorizing names and consequently having to resort to ''organ trafficking''.

* TeamMom: She grows into the mother figure role especially among the first years, as she goes out of her way to help Hinata and Kageyama with their studies and is actually quite good at reining them in. She's shown to be greatly affected by their fight in Season 2 and particularly looks out for them. She also helps Yamaguchi with his nerves and has a fairly good understanding of Tsukishima's personality (making Akiteru wonder if his brother actually has friends other than Yamaguchi).

* TookALevelInBadass: After five months' worth of training and practice, Yamaguchi finally made improvements of his jump float serves that scored a few additional points during the match against Aoba Johsai in the Spring Tournament.

* ADayInTheLimelight: Yamaguchi has a few episodes/chapters that indicate that he is more than just a secondary character who is Tsukishima's YesMan, most notably his improved jump float serves during a match with Aoba Johsai in Season 2.
