Not very well known outside of biology field, Hamasaki Ren known for discovering a new type of marine life when he was 11, effectively proving his capacity for studying advanced marine biology much younger than most people could, mostly through dedication and interest in the subject. Albeit not officially having such a title, as he needs to finish school to get officially study marine biology, Ren is recognized as a biologist in training all the same. His extensive research in ocean life helped to properly classify many other species.
Percival comes from the obscure island country of Wrwvv’wlwd. Like all other members of the famed Ravenway family, he is tasked with serving and protecting the Wrwvv’wld royalty, in particular, Miles Hygh. Though many have not heard of Wrwvv’wlwd, they may have heard of Sunset Academy, a training facility infamous worldwide for their harsh but effective methods in teaching its students a variety of skills. Survival, swordsmanship, hand-to-hand combat, and archery are just a few in the curriculum. The Academy keeps its secrets closely guarded, but it’s a public fact that the graduation rates are grim despite the amount of people clamoring to receive training from around the world. Percival made quite a splash in his home country when he graduated with all honors, a feat only achieved a handful of times in Sunset history, impressive even for a Ravenway. After he and Miles moved to Japan for a cultural learning experience, the accomplishments of both ultimately attracted attention from another esteemed school, this time a “real” one. Hope’s Peak.

Fujimoto Riko is a member of the relatively famous Fujimoto family, a rather large family known for it’s prominence in the legal system with members branching out into many professions such as lawyers and cops. Born to Fujimoto Emiko, a renowned author from Osaka, then later moving to Tokyo, stone-solid Tomoko grew up living a rather luxurious lifestyle. The whereabouts of her father are accepted as unknown, though this never seemed to phase her as a child. There is nothing on anyone known as Akane Akiteru before seven years ago, when there’s a brief mention of an eleven-year-old helping to bring down two members of a ring of organised crime. There are brief mentions of cases they were involved with for the next two years, then several stories on a thirteen-year-old nobody from the middle of nowhere who’d cracked a high-profile serial killer case, seemingly on their own. There are increasing mentions and coverage of them for the next several years, mostly having to do with other cases they’d solved. Most cases seem to have to do with serial killers.
