Considering Sylvain and Ingrid will always die, and how bleak things are looking for Dimitri, Dedue and Felix by the end, I think it's a little disingenuous to claim that you can spare most of them in SB.

* RouteBoss: Because their homeland is a major target of invasion, both games feature them as antagonists when siding with the Empire — albeit in different degrees. In ''Three Houses'', most of them can be recruited pre-TimeSkip, which in most cases is the only way to not kill them them in Crimson Flower and Verdant Wind; in ''Three Hopes'' they all appear as enemies on Scarlet Blaze, although most can be spared this time without necessitating recruitment.

Felix is not a Number Two in Houses. He doesn't have any special authority nor does he handle any kind of special duties for Dimitri. Gilbert is the Number Two of Azure Moon.

* NumberTwo:
** In the Azure Moon route, Felix basically becomes second-in-command of the army after Gilbert, since Dimitri is in no condition to lead the army and he often directly reports on things to Byleth. When Dimitri finally comes around, Felix does step back and allow Dimitri to take the reins again but remains an important supporting character.
** He serves as this in Azure Gleam in ''Three Hopes''. In Chapter 7, Dimitri returns to the capital with just Dedue and Rodrigue, leaving Felix in charge of the standing army at the frontlines. Felix also tends to be the first person he consults for military advice.

In ''Three Hopes'', contrasting the UndyingLoyalty of his classmates (barring Mercedes on Scarlet Blaze), he can be persuaded to defect from the Kingdom. However, there he defects mostly because he follows Dimitri's orders on choosing his own life over fighting to the death for Faerghus, as Ashe became a knight and wanted to fight for Dimitri. As a result, he becomes a bit more cynical as he now has to fight his friends, who either call him out for turning on Faerghus or tells him to hold it together and come at them with all he's got.

Dedue isn't treated in any way as morally superior as a result of being "uncivilized".

* NobleSavage: Despite the SFF storyline, Dedue is portrayed with certain magical native tropes. He's notably shown to express self-sacrifical tendencies for Dimitri's sake, with lines such as "You risked your life to save a foreigner you had never met. [...] And I would cast it aside in an instant if my death were to your benefit."

Bishonen is Definition-Only. No examples allowed. Per TRS.

* {{Bishounen}}: He’s very easy on the eyes, which likely helps him be successful in picking up women despite his reputation.

* {{Bishonen}}: He has soft facial features, somewhat long eyelashes, and is quite slender in build.

* {{Bishonen}}: He has soft, babyish features and gentle TaremeEyes. If he had longer hair, he could easily be mistaken for a woman. This is especially noticeable after the timeskip, where he trades his original short, windswept hairstyle for a neater, gentlemanly haircut.
