** Numerological Motif: Lucy has been associated with the number seven several times throughout the series such her very first mission in the series being numbered seven on it, she started out with seven zodiac keys/spirits, her rent is 70,000 jewel (10,000x7), in chapter 107 during the Fairy Tail girl contest Lucy was contestant number seven, during the Sirius Island arc Lucy and Canna chose route C which was number seven on the Islands numbered routes, she was born in the year X767, she was 17 (10+7) when she started the series, after the Tartoros arc Lucy is left with fourteen zodiac keys (7x2) and she named her in universe book character Iris which means rainbow which can be divided into seven different colors, Iris can also reference the asteroid Iris also known as 7 Iris, she is also a member of a group that is normally at max made up of seven people and considering the fact that Lucy is considered lucky this can also make it a case of lucky seven as well.

* BuxomIsBetter: {{Averted|Trope}}. She has the honor of having the biggest breasts in the series, but her inability to seduce any man (outside of her own spirits) is a RunningGag. Not to mention that, if Gray is to be believed during a FreakyFridayFlip, [[BlessedWithSuck Lucy suffers from persistent back pain]]. When Rebecca says describes Lucy's breasts as "huge" in the HERO's spinoff, Lucy actually agrees, but notes Rebecca's are quite large as well, showing that when people aren't being lecherous about it she actually feels having a large chest warrants a compliment.

Then, in ''100 Years Quest'', Brandish, the one person with the most initial enmity toward her, becomes a friend and rival. Later on, when Lucy is transformed into a yokai and as a result loses her kind personality, ''[[spoiler:Aquarius]]'', who had a thorny friendship toward her, is the one to snap Lucy out of her yokai brainwashing with a loving embrace... followed by a DopeSlap.

When Mirajane gets into Lucy's head the idea that Natsu might like her, Lucy suddenly becomes very nervous around him and starts to fantasize about a relationship with him. When she thinks he is going to confess, Natsu reveals he only wanted Lucy to let him borrow Virgo to dig a hole. Realizing she made a fuss over nothing, Lucy slaps Natsu and calls herself an idiot.

** Her mother died trying to open Eclipse for the dragon slayers to arrive in the present day, her father neglected her to put all of his efforts in maintaining his business, and she ran off to pursue her dream of joining Fairy Tail. And to make matters worse, Brandish's mother also indirectly caused Layla's death.

* PinkMeansFeminine: Lucy has worn pink several times such as her pink furred coat the second time she went to Mount Hakobe then she wore a pink dress during the party after the grandmagic games, her Aries star dress is also partially pink colored and her guild mark is also pink colored and she’s the most outright feminine member of her team and considering how upbeat she usually is it would also qualify as cheery pink as well.

* ThePowerOfLove: Loke claims this is why their bond is strong enough that he can summon himself without using up her magic power. She denies anything of the sort.

When Lucy rescues Jude from Naked Mummy and eventually disappears on Sirius Island for seven years, however, he atones for his misdeeds by sending gifts and rent money each year--and on her birthday no less--[[RedemptionEqualsDeath until he dies]].

* ExpositoryHairstyleChange: When she was living in the Heartfilia Manor, she wore her hair up in a tight, but elegant bun, with ribbons and jewelry woven into it, representing the rigid environment she grew up in. After running away, she wears her hair much looser, with an asymmetrical ponytail on the side, symbolizing her freedom.
