* ButtMonkey: Slippery Slope features Ell, Tamara and Matilda getting into the same comical injuries as their male counterparts. And in Matilda's case, [[spoiler:jarringly horrible deaths too]].

* {{Catchphrase}}: [[NotInTheFace "Not the face!"]] and [[SophisticatedAsHell "Indubitably"]].

* {{Catchphrase}}: "Lame." usually when he's annoyed, injured or about to be injured.

* ForWantOfANail: Had the gang not chosen Shoe as the director in ''[=MovieMakers=]'', [[spoiler:Eduardo would probably still have his girlfriend with him...]]

* SatelliteLoveInterest: A justified example; it's made clear that Edd and Tord are only into her because she's hot and they never really get any insight on her personality... and as such, neither do the viewers. She's visibly annoyed when she watches them get into a fistfight over her at the end.

* BitchInSheepsClothing: Tord becomes this, since he's a NiceGuy and saying kind words towards Edd, Tom, and Matt but... In "The End" Part 1 & 2 as well as the series' GrandFinale, he's actually an AxCrazy and part of The Red Army:
** In "The End Part 1": Throughout the montage of them doing their adventures, Tord constantly harms Tom. When the gang returns home, Tord asks if he can have his old room back, which now belongs to Tom. Tom loses his temper, tossing the couch through the wall and storming out after yelling at Tord about how he can take his room and the place was too crowded anyway. Edd wants to go after Tom, but Tord manages to persuade Edd to stay and catch up now that's he back. Matt suggests they all check out his toy collection, and Tord follows up by saying they should watch Return of the Insane Zombie Pirates from Hell 4. The animation ends with Edd saying "Just like old times, right?" and Tord responding with "Just like old times...", before closing the curtains with an evil smirk on his face.

The Red Army is a corrupted military organization who wants to take over the world, with Paul, Patryck, and [[spoiler:Tord]] being part of them.

* ChildhoodFriends: According to episodes like "25 Feet Under the Seat" and "[=PowerEdd=]", all four of them have been friends since they were little kids. Taking it further, they [[EveryoneWentToSchoolTogether went to school with the Neighbors, Paul, Laurel, Diwi, Hellucard,]] [[WebAnimation/CrashZoom Ben, Lucy]] [[CreatorCameo and Wonchop]].

* WalkingSpoiler: It's nearly impossible to talk about his characterization in "The End" without spoiling the big twist of his FaceHeelTurn.

* TheVoiceless: Because of [[Creator/TomSka Thomas Ridgewell]] stepping down from voicing Tom, throughout "Casting Call", he is completely silent due to Ed Templer not being cast yet.

* EvilCounterpart: Inverted for Tori, who is a good counterpart of Tord. Unlike him, she seems to be on good terms with her friends even after leaving (in contrast to Tord, who maintained no contact until his return), with an official drawing showing a postcard she sent to them. The events of "The End" most likely didn't happen in their universe, as [[spoiler:the original house is still intact]]. Some drawings by Paul and Sandra did show her [[spoiler:with bruises on her body, implying she's evil and in the Red Army like Tord, but those may have since been retconned.]]

* LongBusTrip: It took ''eight years'' for his character to come back. Unfortunately, he was ''once again'' PutOnABus after the ''Legacy'' era ended, and he doesn't appear at ''all'' in ''Beyond''.

* RayGun: Future Edd's

* TemporalSuicide: How he intends to prevent his BadFuture.

* FunTShirt: Edd, Tom and Matt have these types of t-shirts underneath their hoodies. Edd's t-shirt reads "Smeg Head"[[note]]British slang for a fool[[/note]], Tom's reads "Ska Band" with a checkerboard pattern in the middle, and Matt's reads "I <3 [=M@=]". Tom's t-shirt used to read "Stay Safe" with an ''WebAnimation/{{asdfmovie}}'' character's head on it, but it changed to its ''Eddsworld Beyond'' design after [=TomSka=]'s departure.

* FunTShirts: Edd, Tom and Matt have these types of t-shirts underneath their hoodies. * EarlyInstallmentCharacterDesignDifference: While all had their designs evolve dramatically, all used to have pink skin due to the way Edd used to color skin tone.

* FiveAceCheater: Not only do they harass Edd, Tom, and Matt, but they also do not play fair when competing against them. For instance, they used a car to win the "drag race" competition, and one of them sabotaged Edd's surfing by siccing a robot shark on him.

A trio of unnamed ruffians who harass Edd and Tom in Surf & Turf Wars Part 1.

* TheScrappy: Most fans are either apathetic towards the bullies, or dislike them, viewing them as unnecessary new characters who could have easily been the neighbors.

* BodyHorror: Outside of the Tom that didn't get Bing's movie, the clones in reject room #64 are all deformed in some way: there's a Matt with a photorealistic head, a visibly troubled amalgamation of all four boys with a normal eye and Tom's black eye, a clone with elements of Tord and Tom, and a short Tom that looks like a children's drawing.

* TokenEvilTeammate: Easily the most violent of the four. As of ''The End'', he's revealed as the one member of the crew who's outright evil.

* TriggerHappy: Oh, [[ExaggeratedTrope that's scratching the surface...]] He is always the first to advocate solving any problem the gang faces with overwhelming firearms.

* MrFanservice: Prince Matthew, who is depicted in a photograph posing [[ShirtlessScene with his shirt open]] and winking with a rose in his teeth. He also poses provocatively in an attempt to convince the bandits to set him free [[NotDistractedByTheSexy (to no avail)]].

* KilledOffForReal: [[spoiler:She was murdered by Shoe, and hasn't returned.]]

* KarmaHoudini: Receives no punishment for [[spoiler:killing Laurel]], and, according to an Instagram post, successfully manages to [[spoiler:get married to her shoes]]. Pretty much the only comeuppance he got is [[ChuckCunninghamSyndrome not appearing in later episodes]].

* PlotArmor: They , or at least Edd, stopped getting killed off as of the ''Legacy'' era, most likely due to Gould's passing.

* VocalEvolution: His voice as of the Beyond era is noticeably higher pitched due to the change in his current voice actor.

* RunningGagged: Kind of. Hellucard still appears, but in the animations, he hasn't said a word since ''[=WTFuture=]'', with his most recent appearances as of this writing featuring him holding up a sign with his CatchPhrase on it instead of saying it out loud. This is likely due to a certain... ''controversy'' regarding his voice actor.
