* GreaterScopeVillain: Of the first two seasons. While Magica De Spell, Flintheart Glomgold, Ma Beagle, and Mark Beaks were menacing Scrooge and his family directly, F.O.W.L. was content to hide behind the scenes, using their control of [=McDuck=] Enterprises to facilitate their criminal activities and keep themselves off Scrooge's radar to the point that Scrooge and Beakley don't even seem to know they were still active. It's only after General Lunaris' invasion nearly destroys the Earth that the High Command decides Clan [=McDuck=] needs to be eliminated.

* SavingTheWorld: Oddly enough for a group of {{Card Carrying Villain}}s, they specifically want Scrooge's family dead because they see them as a threat to the Earth's existence. [[PragmaticVillainy If the Earth were destroyed, who were they going to rob?]]

* PragmaticVillainy: The Chairman's lines suggest that F.O.W.L. was content to remain in the shadows, but since Scrooge and his family placed the entire ''world'' at risk during "Moonvasion!", they've decided that the [=McDucks=] need to go.

* RoguesGalleryTransplant: While at first it seems like this (since F.O.W.L. were a recurring threat to Darkwing Duck in his original series), this is actually an inversion: F.O.W.L. originally appeared in the original Ducktales cartoon.
** Phantom Blot's presence could be considered this, since his main enemy is usually Mickey Mouse.

* RoguesGalleryTransplant: As mentioned above, Phantom Blot is more traditionally an enemy of Mickey Mouse.

** While it was still cruel, if they hadn't stopped Scrooge from searching for Della, he would've kept blowing his dough until he reached bankruptcy trying to find her. Such an act also saved even more lives from being lost in the endeavor and saveds people's jobs. Additionally, according to Beakely, Scrooge spent ''ten years'' looking for her. The three clearly put up with the endeavor for longer than most would expect and only pulled the plug when things would be getting too serious.

*
* {{Irony}}: In "Glomtales!" he scolds Magica for going into one of her "I will have my revenge!" rants and for threatening doom on others. Then it turns out he actually works for arguably the most infamous evil organisations in Disney canon.

* AdaptationalWimp: While it's still too early to be sure, in the past Phantom Blot has often played the role of BigBad while here he appears to be an Agent of F.O.W.L. instead. A high-ranking one, certainly, but still.

* InformedSpecies: Her name is a pun on "gander", indicating that she's a goose, but she's a HumanoidFemaleAnimal with a pointy, sparrow-like beak.

!!Bradford Buzzard and the Board of Directors

* BigBad: Are set to be the main antagonists for Season 3.

* PointyHairedBoss: All they care about is cutting costs. Not once do they seem remotely interested in finding ways to ''generate'' revenue for the company. As shown in "The Richest Duck In The World!", they usually leave the money-making to the one who owns the company. When Louie tells them they should be smart enough to figure out how to make money, they realize that is a fair point, but they start by considering cutting funding on magical defenses, showing it is an entirely new concept for them.

* AdaptationalWimp: While it's too soon to tell for sure, seeing the Phantom Blot as one of F.O.W.L.'s agents is a bit of surprise considering he's often a BigBad.

* EveryoneHasStandards:
** Sure, they had a rocky relationship with Scrooge, but during the fake funeral Scrooge had to expose Glomgold]], the three looked absolutely disgusted and angry at Glomgold's posturing. Of course, given that they're secretly planning to ''kill'' Scrooge and his family themselves, it was most likely an act, and they weren't done milking him yet.

* AnimalStereotypes: They live off cutting even more of Scrooge's expenses and are generally unpleasant, fitting the ScavengersAreScum stereotype associated with vultures.

* AdaptationalWimp: While it's too soon to tell for sure, seeing [[spoiler: the Phantom Blot]] as one of F.O.W.L.'s Agents is a bit of surprise considering he's often a BigBad.
* TheBusCameBack: Among the Agents of F.O.W.L. are [[spoiler: Gandra Dee, John D. Rockerduck, Jeeves and Black Heron]], each of whom haven't been seen since their introductory episodes.
* EvilAllAlong: Nearly all the members of F.O.W.L. introduced in the ending scene of ''Moonvasion'' have appeared before in the show (except for Steelbeak). Likewise while some of them were morally ambiguous ([[spoiler: Gandra Dee was working as a hired gun for Mark Beaks, Rockerduck was established as being pretty shady at least and outright criminal at worst]]), the only one identified as outright evil was Black Heron. The revelation that ''all'' of them are members of F.O.W.L. shows that isn't the case.
* EvilPlan: As expected of F.O.W.L., the Chairman ominously informs their agents that "the pieces are finally in place."
* FunWithAcronyms: The Fiendish Organisation for World Larceny. The chairman of High Command makes a reference to their name when he observes that, "Without the world, who would we larceny against?"
* {{Foil}}: To Glomgold's short-lived LegionOfDoom from "Glomtales". Both groups consist of enemies to the members of Clan McDuck. However, Glomgold's group consisted of more noticable and high profile villains, while F.O.W.L employed individuals that can slip under the radar easily. Not to mention most of Glomgold's "family" (sans Ma Beagle) are either LaughablyEvil, incompetent and slow-witted [[LeeroyJenkins Leeroy Jenkinses]] or have become an even [[VillainDecay lesser threat]] than they originally were. The noticable members of F.O.W.L however, while some flawed, keep their cool and effectively follow through with their plans.

** Likewise, [[spoiler: the Phantom Blot]] has faced Scrooge and his family before in the comics.
* PragmaticVillainy: The Chairman's lines suggest that F.O.W.L. was content to remain in the shadows, but since Scrooge and his family placed the entire ''world'' at risk during ''Moonvasion'' they've decided that the [=McDucks=] need to go.

** [[spoiler: Phantom Blot]]'s presence could be considered this, since his main enemy is usually Mickey Mouse.

* EvilAllAlong: They've always been unpleasant characters but the end of "Moonvasion!" reveals that they're F.O.W.L.'s High Command.

** They're also more concerned about staying in the citizenry's good graces than Scrooge. In "Jaw$", the Board sets Scrooge up with an interview for damage control, after one of his adventures results in a beanstalk littering the city. Scrooge hates it, but does see the wisdom of it in the end.

* RunningBothSides: The Board runs both the legitimate [[MegaCorp McDuck Enterprises]], though they share power with Scrooge and the nefarious F.O.W.L. Through the former, they essentially have control over a majority of the world's resources and infrastructure, which benefits the latter.
* TheScrooge: Scrooge says he keeps them around because they're even bigger skinflints than he, and are thus the perfect people to manage his budget. [[HypocriticalHumor He then becomes indignant when they want to cut]] ''[[HypocriticalHumor his]]'' [[HypocriticalHumor Money Bin budget]]. Given that they're also the leaders of F.O.W.L. they're probably getting him to spend as less money as possible to presumably fund their malicious activities.

* DisneyDeath: [[spoiler:She appears to fall to her death in her introductory episode, only to turn up alive in the last scene of Season 2.]]
* DisneyVillainDeath: [[spoiler: Apparently her final fate, courtesy of Webby. But since they NeverFoundTheBody and she [[SoftWater fell into water]], there is a chance that she survived.]] [[spoiler:Sure enough, she turns up alive at the end of Season 2.]]

* NotTheFallThatKillsYou: [[spoiler: When plummeting out of the sky to her doom, she manages to grab onto the top of her base with her robot arm...but RealityEnsues when the camera pans over and reveals the sudden halt in velocity ripped it right out of her shoulder. This leads to the above DisneyVillainDeath, which eventually turns into a straight-up DisneyDeath.]]

* HumanPopsicle: [[spoiler:The end of "Moonvasion" reveals that he's been cryogenically frozen well beyond his natural lifespan, thanks to F.O.W.L.]]

* NebulousEvilOrganisation: [[spoiler:Is revealed to be alive in the modern day as a F.O.W.L. operative in the Season 2 finale.]]

* FrankensteinsMonster: [[spoiler:His present day appearance in the final scene of Season 2 gives off this vibe, implying that he already died unlike his boss and put back together.]]

* NebulousEvilOrganisation: [[spoiler:Is revealed to be alive in the modern day as a F.O.W.L. operative in the Season 2 finale.]]
