* TheExile: Tordrek was stripped of his rank in the Engineers' Guild and banished from Barak Varr when he tried to murder Red Brokk Gunnarson in a fit of jealousy. He was able to fight his way out of the port on his submersible and fled north into the Sea of Chaos, eventually making his way to Zhugulzar,, a port of the Dawi-Zharr, for refuge.

He's always been envious of his fellow dwarves and their skills, so he did everything he could to show them up. Using his cursed intellect, he bound demons into his machines, resulting in his personal submersible, the ''Black Kraken''. Tordrek then sold his soul to Noctilus to further increase his power and eliminate his competitors. The ''Black Kraken'' is a tentacled monstrosity that Tordeck operates alone. It rises from the deep and drags enemy ships into the deep briny blue with a mass of metal tentacles.

Amanhotep is a greedy and miserly mummy king of an undead city. His city was raided by Jaego Roth, who stole some of its gold to fund his campaign against the Dreadfleet. Swearing vengeance upon the navigator, he outfitted his personal ship with the worst magic and spells of his city and sailed after the human raider. He soon came across Count Noctilus and offered to assist the vampire, hoping he'd serve as bait to draw out Roth. The Curse of Zandri is a funeral barge loaded with hundreds of hexes and skeleton soldiers ready to carry out their king's will.

* JackOfAllStats: Sporting respectable speed and the best attack stats of all ten warships, the Heldenhammer is a solid and reliable ship to use in any situation.

!!Aranessa Saltspite, captain of the Swordfysh

Born with mutated legs and raised by sea nymphs, Aranessa is the reigning pirate lord of the seas surrounding the Galleon's Graveyard. She sold her services as a warrior and pirate to Roth knowing of the vast fortunes that lay in the graveyard. Her ship, the Swordfysh, is decorated in ebony shells and sea-life and possesses a large serrated spike on the bow made for ramming opponents.

!!The Golden Magus, captain of the Flaming Scimitar
The self-proclaimed sultan of the seas, the Magus is an eccentric man of magic who prides himself on his wealth and vast collection of magical items. Roth's quest into the Galleon's Graveyard caught the Magus' ears and he offered his ship to Roth's cause. The Flaming Scimitar is a pleasure barge filled with both the finest of luxuries and the mightiest of magical defenses.

* EvilAllAlong: In the novelisation, [[spoiler: he turns out to have been a worshipper of Tzeench]].
* PaidHarem: Apparently keeps hordes of exotic women aboard his warship.

* TheSmartGuy: Shares this role with Red. Specializes in magic and the mystical.

!!Red Brokk Gunnarson, captain of Grimnir’s Thunder

A dwarven engineer who helped design and build many of the dwarf navy’s iron clad armada. He was on the trail of a rogue dwarf builder who was rumored to be in the Galleon’s Graveyard when he encountered Roth. Seeing as how they both were heading in the same direction, Red decided to assist the man in taking down the Dreadfleet. Grimnir’s Thunder is an iron clad steamboat made to withstand even the toughest of conditions. It comes equipped with several dwarf zeppelins that can be repaired and launched from its dock.

* FieryRedhead: As if his name didn't tip you off, he has a flowing crimson beard that accompanies his volatile temper.
* MightyGlacier: What it lacks in speed, Grimnir’s Thunder makes up for in its bulk and fire power.
* PlayingWithFire: Flare cannons make up most of the Thunder’s armament.
* TheSmartGuy: Shares this role with the Magus. Specializes in machines and metalworks.
* TheRival: To Tordeck.

!!Prince Yrellian, captain of the Seadrake

* BreathWeapon: The two dragons attack by breathing fire.
* FragileSpeedster: The Seadrake boats the best movements stats of the ten ships, but should it get caught off guard, it won't last long.
* PrettyBoy: AvertedTrope. Yrellian isn't ugly by any means, but he also isn't your typical hot elven hero either. Though this could be because of the art style of the characters in general.
* ShockAndAwe: The crew of the Seadrake throw miniture bolts of lightning in addition to its basic cannons.

!!Count Noctilus, captain of the Bloody Reaver

The vampiric commander of the Dreadfleet with ambitions to control the ocean with an army of the dead. He was a nobleman who grew tired with his limited powers as a court necromancer. So he summoned all of his magic and ripped his family castle up off the ground and set it upon a floating hulk of broken ships. He christened his new vessel the Bloody Reaver, gave himself the title of count, and set off to a life of inflicting horror and fright. His ship is held together by dark magic and can repair itself with the carnage of his victims.

* AnimateDead: His main means of growing his army.

* Expy: Of Dracula from Castlevania. He’s a vampiric warlock who commands an army of monsters to plunge the world into darkness and does very little bloodsucking or other vampire like things.

!!Vanghiest, captain of the Shadewraith
Once a cruel and cunning pirate, now a dour specter; Vanghiest and his army of ghosts now wander the Galleon's Graveyard in an undead life of misery and woe. When Noctilus arrived the graveyard, he quickly bent the ghostly captain to his will, making Vanghiest his personal guard dog. His ship, the Shadewraith, shares its master's intangible nature and hovers above the water.

* TheDreaded: While this may apply to the fleet as a whole, Vanghiest stands out as his ghostly legend was feared by pirates and sailors for many years before Noctilus rose to power.
* FlyingDutchman: The Shadewraith gives this kind of feeling with its eerie green glow, skeletal like appearance, and the fact that it never touches the water; it always hovers just above it, as if the sea itself shun's its ghostly touch.
* GhostlyChill: The Shadewraith emits a freezing wind whenever it's close by.

* TheMutiny: He and his fellow crew mates turned on their captain in search of immortality. This act would set the catalyst for their current state of limbo.
* SkyPirate: In a sense. The Shadewraith's special ability allows it to literally fly through the sky. Temporarily of course.

* BuildLikeAnEgyptian: The Curse has a miniature pyramid on top of its deck, in addition to the four statues depicting four "not-Egyptian" gods.

!!Skretch Half-Dead, captain of the Skabrus

The verminous leader of a clan of rat people. Skretch led his people to an untimely death when they were swallowed whole by a massive Orb Leviathan. When the creature died and its corpse floated into the Galleon's Graveyard, Count Noctilus revived the beast as an undead guardian. This also reanimated Skretch and his crew, who swore loyalty to the vampire and converted the living corpse into an obscene vessel dubbed the Skabrus, which uses the rat-men's cursed warpstones to generate devastating electrical attacks.
* ArmorPiercingAttack: The Skabrus' warp lightning isn't affected by armor stats.

* ChronicBackstabbingDisorder: As a live rat-man, Skretch betrayed and killed hundreds of former allies to gain power. And while he may serve Noctilus now, he has no intention of staying in the vampire's servitude.

* NonHumanUndead: Obviously.
