A very old friend of the Doctor's, the Corsair is a renegade Time Lord/Lady who pioneered the free-spirited, time-travelling lifestyle long before the Doctor. After stealing some valuable artefacts, the Doctor is falsely accused of the crime in her place before they have their long-awaited reunion and sort out the misunderstanding. Having been first referenced nostalgically in the television episode "The Doctor's Wife", Titan Comics' ''Thirteenth Doctor'' series marks the Corsair's first physical, contemporary appearance in official Who media, a full eight years since she was first mentioned.

* WalkingSpoiler: The presence of an entirely new incarnation of the Master between (theoretically) [=MacQueen=][[note]]It remains to be seen whether Big Finish will maintain this Master's existence, or feature "their" Master regenerating into Derek Jacobi too, but technically there's nothing stopping the [=MacQueen=] Master turning into this one.[[/note]] and Jacobi is a big surprise.

* IChooseToStay: Elects to stay on the planet Nomicae to help with the clean-up procedure after it is devastated by an interstellar war caused by the Doctor's presence on it.
* JumpedAtTheCall: It's implied that her whole life has been a string of this, from joining the army, to joining UNIT after being caught up in one of the Auton invasions, to stowing away on the TARDIS.

* ManchurianAgent: Some of them are capable of shape-shifting into other species, and completely suppressing the knowledge of their true nature and allegiance until they get an opportunity to act.
