Trope was cut/disambiguated due to cleanup

* HeroesWantRedheads: Her on-again, off-again relationship with Roan Montgomery.

Added DiffLines:

* AdrenalineJunkie: ''Big time''. He loves extreme sports.
* BadassBystander: Even though he's a civilian, he's helped the Team fight against trained spies. Probably helps that his entire life revolves around working out.

Added DiffLines:

* NervousWreck: When he and Ellie are expecting their baby, the normally intense Awesome becomes ''really'' intense, and almost "talks" to Ellie's baby bump more than to Ellie herself. Granted, a lot expecting parents get really excitable.

Added DiffLines:

* HiddenDepths: When asked by Chuck, it's revealed that she's good friends with politician Condoleezza Rice, and that the two go out for drinks together.

Added DiffLines:

* TeamMom: As the team's immediate superior, Beckman gradually becomes something of a stern, motherly figure for the team.

Added DiffLines:

* ShipperOnDeck: When Chuck and Sarah finally get together, she warns them of the risks that dating your spy partner comes with. However, off the record, she thinks "it's about ''damn time''".

Added DiffLines:

* RagtagBunchOfMisfits: A con-artist turned C.I.A operative, a gruff former Marine who faked his death to join the N.S.A and a mild-mannered electronics store worker with the world's most powerful supercomputer uploaded into his brain.

Added DiffLines:

* ExpositoryHairstyleChange: Chuck starts out with medium-length, unkempt hair and long sideburns. Throughout the seasons, his hair becomes increasingly short and well-maintained to coincide with Chuck's development into a confident, highly skilled spy.

Added DiffLines:

* HollywoodDateless: Averted. He's hopeless with women at the start of the show, but it's specifically because of his lack of confidence and inability to move on from what happened at Stanford.

Added DiffLines:

** He's also extremely well-versed when it comes to tech, far above most operatives, even at the start of the show.

Added DiffLines:

* CantSpitItOut: A non-romantic example. It takes a lot for him to admit that he's grown to care for Chuck, Sarah and Morgan, and in the early seasons, merely pointing this fact out to him makes him angrier than usual.

Added DiffLines:

* FaceofAThug: His appearance and general build makes it really easy for people to suss out that he's a spy and an ex-Marine. Sarah's conman father distrusts him on instinct and nicknames him "Copface" because of this.

Added DiffLines:

* NoSocialSkills: He's terrible in any social situation that doesn't involve violence or spy work, enough so that Team Bartowski turn out being his ''only'' friends.
** Case in point, when a mock-funeral is held for Casey as part of a sting operation, the only people in attendance are the Team, the agents called in for the operation, and his former squad mates, who only go to make sure he's dead.

Added DiffLines:

* RedScare: Having been a Marine in the 1980s, as well as a dyed-in-the-wool Reagan-fanatic, Casey ''despises'' communism. In fact, "commie" is probably his most-used insult for Russians, even though the U.S.S.R is long gone.

Cool Loser cleanup, has been renamed to Unconvincingly Unpopular Character and is a YMMV audience reaction.

* CoolLoser: Is a very cool guy, but the series starts out with him as a complete social failure with no ambition and a dead-end job.

* NonActionProtagonist: The titular protagonist is the page image for a reason. Chuck Bartowski was an [[TheEveryman everyman]] and [[HollywoodNerd nerd]] who accidentally downloaded [[OmniscentDatabase the Intersect]] into his brain and got pulled into the world of espionage. Despite proving to be well in over his head, Chuck frequently resolves matters through his quick thinking and ability to plan ahead; he's not bad in a fight, but generally leaves the fighting to his far more experienced partner [[ActionGirl Sarah Walker]].

* BadLiar: He's a horrible liar. His cover story for helping Chuck out on a mission? He was jogging in a park. [[BlatantLies Where no cell phones were allowed.]] Then he saw a cat stuck in a tree, and checked if it needed medical attention. [[EpicFail Turns out it was a bear! And he had to wrestle with it, then cut off its head! He decapitated the bear.]] [[IncrediblyLamePun It was pretty grisly.]]

* AllegedlyDateless: Everyone in Chuck Bartowski's life regularly acts like him getting a date of any kind, let alone one with a good-looking woman, is a minor miracle. This continues approximately through the end of the second season, despite the fact that in that space of time he dates two beautiful women and has a third one in love with him. For the most part the third season drops the facade, though. Although its pointed out in the very first episode that he hasn't had a date since getting dumped by Jill as ''every single time'' a girl asks him to ''tell me about yourself'' he ends up giving them a detailed account of his relationship with Jill, which as Ellie pointed out is a major turnoff. Everyone is usually just shocked that a guy that was dateless for ''five freaking years'' is suddenly swarmed by beautiful women. By the third season everyone's just used to it now.

Overprotective Dad has been disambiguated

* OverprotectiveDad: [[spoiler:Casey found out about his daughter mid-season 3. Since then, he's shown strong signs of this whenever anyone wants to cause harm to her... or if their name is "Morgan Grimes".]]
-->'''Casey:''' [[spoiler:[[IfYouEverDoAnythingToHurtHer You break her heart]], I break your ''everything''.]]
