* PunnyName: Certain media tend to [[SpellMyNameWithAnS spell their name in katakana as]] ''Nōto/ノート'', which instead translates to "Note(book)" in English. This may be the official English spelling for their group.

* SpellMyNameWithAnS: "Nouto", "Nōto" or "Note". While their name in kanji is traditionally read as ''Nouto'', TV-Asahi emphasizes it is meant to be read as ''Nōto'', which in turn means ''"Note"'' in English.

* ArcherArchetype: The stoic ranged combatant of the Nōto.

* SwissArmyWeapon: Her ''Condor Arrow'' is a [[ArcherArchetype bow]] that can split into [[DualWielding two swords]].

* DropTheHammer: Wield sledgehammers in combat.

* TerminatorImpersonator: Don Killer is basically a Terminator programmed to kill the Don Brothers if they go rogue. Don Killer Killer is a ''second'' one programmed to kill Don Killer if it went rogue.

A firefighter-themed [[Series/KyukyuSentaiGoGoFive Rescue-type]] Hitotsu-ki evolved from a timid man named Kuga, to fulfil his desire to be rescued.

* KickTheSonOfABitch: They along with Sonogo and Sonoroku manhandle Tsuyoshi 3-on-1 before capturing him in episode 45. While this seems to be a cowardly act even for them, it's for the best that Tsuyoshi actually deserved it; not because he became a Hitotsu-Ki three times, it's because his antics having also caused more problems for the heroes (Tsubasa especially) and that beatdown would serve as a rude awakening.

* DemotedToExtra: He gets only one scene in the VS movie, [[spoiler: where it's revealed that he now works at Café Donbura]].

* SlasherSmile: Murakami's signature [[Series/KamenRiderFaiz returns]] in its frightening glory.

* TheDogBitesBack: During the ''Zenkaiger'' crossover film, Jiro's [[ControlFreak domineering leadership of the Donbrothers]] reaches a boiling point and [[spoiler: Sonoi rebels, losing and being kicked off the team ]]for daring to question. Later in the film, he [[spoiler: re-appears and intercepts Jiro's attempt to attack Taro during the final battle, hospitalizing him off-screen]].

* TheLeader: Downplayed. While Sononi and Sonoza look up to Sonoi, he rarely gives them any direct orders. [[spoiler: After his revival]] however, he beats Sononi and Sonoza into submission and has them bow down to him. The two start addressing him with the "-sama" suffix from then on. They stop after an oden/wasabi combo returns him to normal.

* MirrorCharacter: Invoked after [[spoiler: his revival. In his new state, he's a cocky BoisterousBruiser that sees his colleagues as "companions" - effectively Taro if he were on the side of evil]].
* MyGodWhatHaveIDone: [[spoiler: Exploiting Taro's inability to lie to strike him down]] leaves Sonoi appalled at himself. It's such a stain on his personal honor that he protects Oni Sister from a single fatal blow as if it would help to make up for it.

* SeriousBusiness: Some of the Hitotsu-Ki's host desires are some rather mundane activities, which they took very seriously such as sports, games, arts, etc...

* DarkChick: The sole female member of the primary Nōto general trio until her CharacterDevelopment kicked in.

* CharacterDevelopment: Discussed. Sonoza reveals in #48 that [[spoiler: he sealed the Ninjarksword's power using pages from Haruka's ''First Love Hero]]" in the hopes that the ninja would read and learn from them. [[spoiler:This would end up causing him to join the Donbrothers in the final episode.]]

* DemotedToExtra: He gets only one scene [[spoiler: where it revealed that he now works at Cafe Donbura in VS movie]].

* PurpleIsPowerful: In line with [[ThePsychoRangers Evil Rangers]] of recent [[Series/KishiryuSentaiRyusoulger seasons]] [[Series/KikaiSentaiZenkaiger past]], Murasame is purple-hued, made its debut making short work of all the Donbrothers, and not one of the good guys [[spoiler:until the final episode.]]

* BladeOnAStick: His ''Kage Spear''. He often carries in human form in its unrefined form.

* InformedFlaw: The opening to #39 mentions Murasame having bouts of madness, yet the only insanity ever shown is from other people that grip the Ninjark Sword.
