At that time she was in her Kyoshi warrior gear and makeup, so it would be surprising if he recognized her months later without it.
** Played nearly straight when Katara finally tracks down the man who murdered her mother when she was a child. At first, he has no idea what she's talking about, but recalls it clearly after Katara jogs his memory.

** [[Recap/TheSimpsonsS14E6TheGreatLouseDetective "The Great Louse Detective"]] is an entire Episode showcasing Homer's tendency for falling into this trope. When an unknown assailant makes several attempts on Homer's life, a [[PoliceAreUseless baffled Chief Wiggum]] enlists Sideshow Bob to help solve the case. Bob asks Homer who might have reason to harm him, and Homer answers with a comically LongList--which includes a former [[Recap/TheSimpsonsS7E13TwoBadNeighbors US President]] and ''[[Recap/TheSimpsonsS10E23ThirtyMinutesOverTokyo the Emperor of Japan]]''. Realizing the futility of that line of questioning, Bob sets up a decoy Homer dummy as bait. The dummy is immediately and brutally attacked in quick succession by Moe, Patty and Selma, Groundskeeper Willie, Reverend Lovejoy, and ''Homer himself''.

In a deleted scene from "Hunter's Moon: Part Two", the leader of the latest generation of Hunters confesses to Elisa that no one in his family remembers how or why the hunt began, either.

While he was obviously present for the whole episode, Sokka clearly remembers Suki but apparently ''doesn't'' remember Zuko setting fire to her village - probably because Zuko chasing the Gaang around and setting fire to things happened often enough not to stick out in his memory the way that Suki's object lesson about feminism and her giving him his SacredFirstKiss did.

** In "Meltdown" a reformed Victor Fries, having been given a cloned body without the condition to need freezing temperatures to live in, is confronted by an elderly man whose family Mr. Freeze destroyed years ago in the original Batman series. Fries cannot even recall the event. However, moved by this, he sets up a foundation based on the money from his legitimate earnings and the accrued interest to pay back all the victims of his crimes, though admitting it is still no excuse.
** From the season 1 finale, Batman and his nemesis have a chat, throwing in a little BlackComedy for good measure.

** Later, in the episode "Speak No Evil", a newly-sentient, speech-capable gorilla named Fingers tracks down the poacher, Van Dyle, who captured him and his mother when he was a baby. Given that Van Dyle is cowering and all but begging for his life (and wouldn't you be?) it's considerably less badass.

** The "Who Shot Mr. Burns?" two-parter took this to extremes, with Homer breaking into Mr. Burns' office, spraypainting I AM HOMER SIMPSON along his walls in huge neon green letters, and Mr. Burns' response is, "Who the devil are you?" This pushes Homer's BerserkButton.
