Yes, this game has so many examples, it warrants its own page. The cast of ''VideoGame/BlazBlue'' is just as varied as any, with character archetypes ranging from the AntiHero JerkWithAHeartOfGold to the ShrinkingViolet PersonOfMassDestruction to the FauxAffablyEvil {{Troll}}. The things that set them all off are just as varied, and you had best tread lightly on these particular issues if you know what's good for you.

* Izanami is an affable person and very hard to anger. She only asks that under no circumstances are you to refer to her as [[spoiler:Saya]]. As in, '''''ever.''''' (Unless you're [[spoiler:Ragna]]) Anyone unfortunate to do that quite literally signs their own death warrant.

* Noel has always felt... [[ACupAngst inadequate]] around her peers. Don't bring it up.
* Don't call her stupid, either.
* Don't mistake her for a boy. Bang and Amane learn this the hard way.

* He can't remember it because of the modifications done to him by Kokonoe but Azrael became this for him [[spoiler: after he slaughtered Tager's mercenary band with him being the old survivor]]. Seeing Azrael [[spoiler: savagely brutalize Bullet]] during the ''Chronophantasma'' story, much to his own confusion, enrages him to the point that before Kokonoe's plan is put into action she teleports Azrael directly in front of him just long enough that Tager can punch him as hard as he can. This hatred of Azrael runs deep enough that it actually [[spoiler: breaks through the memory alteration of the Embryo in Act I of his ''Central Fiction'' arcade mode and sends him into an {{unstoppable rage}}]].

* Carl's anger issues come from the childhood trauma of [[HarmfulToMinors having to service Deus Machina: Nirvana, who his sister Ada was moved into]]. He is also a known gadgeteer, so disrespect towards her translates into "Please use all of your deadly toys on me, young master!"

* Bullet lost her squadron during the ill-fated mission to Naobi, and holds several parties accountable. She will not stop roaring or rampaging until she gets bloody satisfaction.

*** Worse, if you unmake his work with the cast and ruin his plans, his grudge against you will transcend time and space. [[spoiler:This rare combination has only been managed by Makoto Nanaya, and he '''will''' try to kill her within the first five minutes of contact.]]

* Bullet doesn't take lightly to comments about her uniform, either. Two words: [[WhoWearsShortShorts Butt Floss]].

[[AC:Ragna the Bloodedge]]
* Ragna is mostly indifferent to those around him as a defense mechanism [[HumanResources due to the nature of his powers]]. However, he wants to shove [[{{BFS}} Blood-Scythe]] up the ass of Yuuki Terumi [[BestServedCold for ruining his childhood in one traumatic night]]. That is all that needs to be said.
** Let Ragna idle during a fight with Terumi and you hear this...
--> "They'll never find your body."
* As of ''Chronophantasma'', he gains a new one in the form of Celica. Harm her in his presence, and they'll be cleaning up what's left of you with a mop. He nearly flipped when Azrael [[spoiler:attacked Celica in an attempt to force him to activate his Azure Grimiore]]. And he nearly strangled Kokonoe when she [[spoiler:wanted to use Celica for Kushinada's Lynchpin with the full knowledge it would kill her]].
* Also, don't harm Noel in his presence either, especially after the events of ''Continuum Shift''. [[spoiler:He broke a locked door linked to an otherwise different spatially-separated dimension down by ''slamming into it'' when he heard her calling out to him in fear when Arakune attacked her - this despite Celica suppressing his power.]] The only reason he didn't proceed to open a can of whoop-ass was because [[ColonelBadass Kagura]], his own BerserkButton pressed, beat him to it.
* When the Imperator taunts him by speaking in Saya's voice he ''completely snaps'' to the point the arcade boss theme starts to play and he's ready to fight right then and there despite Rachel's strained pleas for him to run.
* ''Central Fiction'' reveals another one. Do not hurt Rachel. [[spoiler:When he learns that Hazama has been torturing her, Ragna goes into a rage so intense that, if not for Naoto's intervention, '''would have turned him into the Black Beast'''.]]

* Jin also has feelings for Tsubaki Yayoi, though he normally chooses not to admit them -- if you feel like hurting her, your death will be [[AnIcePerson cold]], slow, and very painful indeed.

* Feel like hurting Tsubaki? She'll gun you down without a second thought. [[spoiler:Terumi uses this as his means to turn her into Mu-12 in ''Continuum Shift''.]]

[[AC:Taokaka]]
* Taokaka will beat the crap outta "Squiggly" (Arakune) on sight due to his frequent attacks on her village.

* Having been reconstructed by Kokonoe, Tager's loyalty to her [[UndyingLoyalty knows no bounds]]. Disrespecting her isn't something he takes lightly, so if you decide to badmouth her in earshot of him, pray she calls him off.
* In ''Chronophantasma'', he also gets pretty pissed and is unable to focus on his mission when he sees [[spoiler:Bullet]] getting beaten up. That's because [[spoiler:he and Bullet used to be part of the same mercenary group before his entire squad was wiped out]], but he has no memories from before he was rebuilt by Kokonoe, so he doesn't even know why he's mad.

[[AC:Litchi Faye-Ling]]
* Litchi Faye-Ling and Roy "Arakune" Carmine were close colleagues during their tenure in Sector Seven, and when the latter tampered with the Boundary and wound up... [[WasOnceAMan disfigured]], Litchi quit her job and went out to search for him. The more you insist she leave him to his fate, the more willing she will be to silence your complaints. This includes physical force.

[[AC:Bang Shishigami]]
* Bang is loyal to Lord Tenjou to the end, and one of his lifelong goals was to bring his killer Jin Kisaragi to justice. He was willing to fight Jin on sight until Platinum talked him out of it. He will postpone the fight if Jin is injured, however.
* If Bang believes you are a threat to his beloved Miss Litchi, he will beat your ass into the ground by any means necessary. This is usually gag reel material, but events in ''Chronophantasma'' have given this frenzy switch a more serious turn.
* ''Do not hurt a child in front of Bang for any reason at all''. He will do anything in his power to make you stop, even if he must break [[ThouShallNotKill his vow to Lord Tenjou]] to make it happen.

** Attempts to separate the two end with you in a bloody heap.
* Carl also has issues with adults due to said incident. If you're one, be nice to him (Bang and Litchi usually are).
** He also hates if anyone doesn’t treat Nirvana as if she’s Ada. Even calling her Nirvana will cause him to yell at you that [[NeverSayThatAgain Nirvana is not her name]] (although he might not attack you on the spot if you apologize and correct yourself).
** The instigator of this incident is Carl's own father, Relius Clover, who put Ada into Nirvana in the first place and left her half-done. [[ItsPersonal Carl has never forgiven him for this]].

[[AC:Hakumen]]
* Hakumen cares dearly for Tsubaki Yayoi [[spoiler:due to him being a past incarnation of Jin Kisaragi]]. Do not harm her unduly in front of him. '''You will die'''.
** Hakumen will kill Nu on sight [[spoiler:due to [[MyGreatestFailure murdering his iteration of Tsubaki]].]] Not even ''Celica'' can talk Hakumen out of this one.
* Hakumen also hates Terumi for the bullshit he pulled with the Six Heroes in the past, and intends to kill him over it. [[spoiler:By the end of ''Chronophantamsa'', he succeeds.]]

* Tsubaki grew up lonely with House Yayoi, and only Jin got to interact with her. As a result, she loves him with all her heart. She can be quite vocal if you try to get between them, and [[spoiler:as long as she's dirtied from Terumi's MindRape,]] [[MurderTheHypotenuse she would kill her best friend]] over this.
** On the subject, don't harm Jin in front of her, or she will turn on you. Try to force her into harming him, and she will resist you. [[spoiler:Even if you're Izanami.]]

[[AC:Makoto Nanaya]]
* Makoto has faced enough shit about beastkin during her childhood. She will snap back at your discriminatory practices, though she won't get violent over it.
** [[TrueCompanions Noel and Tsubaki]] are her closest friends for trying to be there for her through said discrimination, and she reciprocates with them in kind. Do not '''ever''' visit undue harm upon them - [[spoiler:even if she needs a month and a proxy to pull it off,]] you and your circuitous plans [[DidntSeeThatComing are going down in flames]].
* On a more lighthearted note, any attempt to grope her will be met with immediate violence. Many times throughout ''Chronophantasma's'' Story Mode, Makoto has had to [[GroinAttack shove]] [[HandsomeLech Kagura's]] [[GroinAttack raging dragon back into his pants]].

** Anyone [[spoiler:other than Tsubaki as a last resort]] who tries to visit harm upon Rachel will [[UnstoppableRage know his wrath, unfettered and raw]].
* Like Hakumen, Valkenhayn has no respect for Terumi for his actions with the Six Heroes, and will not hesitate to claw the taste out of his mouth.

* Even more than Yuuki Terumi, Trinity can never forgive [[spoiler:herself]] for [[spoiler:her hand in releasing him from Nine's control.]] Doesn't mean she likes the bastard.

** Her issue with Kokonoe was that her captain [[spoiler:(Tager?)]] was moved into her lab. If you know anything about Kokonoe's whereabouts (whether you work with Sector Seven or [[InsaneTrollLogic are a]] [[FantasticRacism beastkin]]), she will get answers from you even if she has to force them out.

* Given that Nine was her mother, Kokonoe wants to bag Terumi herself. Needless to say, she won't put up with his shit.

* Like Noel, Kokonoe has some [[ACupAngst self-image issues]] as well, and only refrains from going nuts around Litchi. Even when she does, it's PlayedForLaughs, as it tends to be gag reel and FourthWallMailSlot material.

[[AC:Kagura Mutsuki]]
* Kagura is normally a chilled, laid-back dude. However, when [[spoiler:Arakune attempts to consume Noel]], he declares that he'll kill him with the most uncharacteristically furious and antagonistic tone you will ever hear from the guy. Even Ragna is overwhelmed by his outburst. [[ChivalrousPervert Skirt-chaser he may be]], [[JerkWithAHeartOfGold let it never be said that he doesn't care about women as people]].
** In general, harm a woman in his presence and the final minutes of your life will be agonizing.

* Ever since he [[spoiler: shanked her and turned her into Phantom]], she's had a '''really''' vehement grudge against Terumi. Hakumen notes that only her, Ragna and Kokonoe have enough hatred on their own to keep Terumi in this world.

Trinity died merely because she was an accessory.]]

That's right, not even an '''EldritchAbomination''' is safe from her wrath. The message was clear: Do '''NOT''' mess with her kid sister.

* Nu's arcade run in ''Central Fiction'' reveals that Nine is ''very'' sensitive about her age. And unless you want to spend the final minutes of your life burning in agony, you would do well to not bring it up. Nu learned this the hard way.

[[AC:Taokaka]]
* Taokaka will beat the crap outta "Squiggly" (Arakune) on sight due to his frequent attacks on her village.

[[AC:Iron Tager]]
* Having been reconstructed by Kokonoe, Tager's loyalty to her [[UndyingLoyalty knows no bounds]]. Disrespecting her isn't something he takes lightly, so if you decide to badmouth her in earshot of him, pray she calls him off.
* In ''Chronophantasma'', he also gets pretty pissed and is unable to focus on his mission when he sees [[spoiler:Bullet]] getting beaten up. That's because [[spoiler:he and Bullet used to be part of the same mercenary group before his entire squad was wiped out]], but he has no memories from before he was rebuilt by Kokonoe, so he doesn't even know why he's mad.
* Related to the above he also acts out of character around [[spoiler: Azrael]] due to him [[spoiler: injuring Tager to the point where Kokonoe has to turn him into a cyborg to save him and, as with the above, him hurting Bullet thoroughly in front of Tager]]. When [[spoiler: Azrael is sealed in another dimension]] Kokonoe briefly teleports him in front of Tager so he can get a good punch in, and she mentions that he has been acting weird and this was needed for him to blow off steam.

[[AC:Litchi Faye-Ling]]
* Litchi Faye-Ling and Roy "Arakune" Carmine were close colleagues during their tenure in Sector Seven, and when the latter tampered with the Boundary and wound up... [[WasOnceAMan disfigured]], Litchi quit her job and went out to search for him. The more you insist she leave him to his fate, the more willing she will be to silence your complaints. This includes physical force.

[[AC:Bang Shishigami]]
* Bang is loyal to Lord Tenjou to the end, and one of his lifelong goals was to bring his killer Jin Kisaragi to justice. He was willing to fight Jin on sight until Platinum talked him out of it. He will postpone the fight if Jin is injured, however.
* If Bang believes you are a threat to his beloved Miss Litchi, he will beat your ass into the ground by any means necessary. This is usually gag reel material, but events in ''Chronophantasma'' have given this frenzy switch a more serious turn.
* ''Do not hurt a child in front of Bang for any reason at all''. He will do anything in his power to make you stop, even if he must break [[ThouShallNotKill his vow to Lord Tenjou]] to make it happen.

** Attempts to separate the two end with you in a bloody heap.

** He also hates if anyone doesn’t treat Nirvana as if she’s Ada. Even calling her Nirvana will cause him to yell at you that [[NeverSayThatAgain Nirvana is not her name]] (although he might not attack you on the spot if you apologize and correct yourself).
** The instigator of this incident is Carl's own father, Relius Clover, who put Ada into Nirvana in the first place and left her half-done. [[ItsPersonal Carl has never forgiven him for this]].
*** If he suspects you know anything about Relius' whereabouts, you have three choices: tell him, get the fuck out, or die.

[[AC:Ada "Nirvana" Clover]]
* Nirvana doesn't really show much sentience, but just as Carl is fiercely protective of her, she's is equally protective of him. Harming Carl in her presence is basically wearing a "Kill Me" sign on your neck and will most likely be met with WolverineClaws to your throat.

[[AC:Hakumen]]
* Hakumen cares dearly for Tsubaki Yayoi [[spoiler:due to him being a past incarnation of Jin Kisaragi]]. Do not harm her unduly in front of him. '''You will die'''.
** Hakumen will kill Nu on sight [[spoiler:due to [[MyGreatestFailure murdering his iteration of Tsubaki]].]] Not even ''Celica'' can talk Hakumen out of this one.
* Hakumen also hates Terumi for the bullshit he pulled with the Six Heroes in the past, and intends to kill him over it. [[spoiler:By the end of ''Chronophantamsa'', he succeeds.]]

* * She has one that only Ragna can press. [[spoiler: When he denies their relationship being TheMasochismTango and claims that she wants him to save her, she threatens to kill him for real]].

** On the subject, don't harm Jin in front of her, or she will turn on you. Try to force her into harming him, and she will resist you. [[spoiler:Even if you're Izanami.]]

[[AC:Makoto Nanaya]]
* Makoto has faced enough shit about beastkin during her childhood. She will snap back at your discriminatory practices, though she won't get violent over it.
** [[TrueCompanions Noel and Tsubaki]] are her closest friends for trying to be there for her through said discrimination, and she reciprocates with them in kind. Do not '''ever''' visit undue harm upon them - [[spoiler:even if she needs a month and a proxy to pull it off,]] you and your circuitous plans [[DidntSeeThatComing are going down in flames]].
* On a more lighthearted note, any attempt to grope her will be met with immediate violence. Many times throughout ''Chronophantasma's'' Story Mode, Makoto has had to [[GroinAttack shove]] [[HandsomeLech Kagura's]] [[GroinAttack raging dragon back into his pants]].
--> "You need to die."
** Related to that is implying that Kagura’s statement about their one night stand is true, which results in [[SuspiciouslySpecificDenial uncharacteristic defensive outbursts]].

[[AC:Valkenhayn R. Hellsing]]
* Valkenhayn watches over Madame Rachel as per the whims of his master Clavis Alucard, [[UndyingLoyalty who he is dearly loyal to]]. Treat her with respect around him.
** Anyone [[spoiler:other than Tsubaki as a last resort]] who tries to visit harm upon Rachel will [[UnstoppableRage know his wrath, unfettered and raw]].
* Like Hakumen, Valkenhayn has no respect for Terumi for his actions with the Six Heroes, and will not hesitate to claw the taste out of his mouth.

* Even more than Yuuki Terumi, Trinity can never forgive [[spoiler:herself]] for [[spoiler:her hand in releasing him from Nine's control.]] Doesn't mean she likes the bastard.

* Given that Nine was her mother, Kokonoe wants to bag Terumi herself. Needless to say, she won't put up with his shit.
** Of course, she won't hesitate to flip out if [[TheOnlyOneAllowedToDefeatYou you say anything that can be translated as "I'm going to kill Terumi first".]]

[[AC:Kagura Mutsuki]]
* Kagura is normally a chilled, laid-back dude. However, when [[spoiler:Arakune attempts to consume Noel]], he declares that he'll kill him with the most uncharacteristically furious and antagonistic tone you will ever hear from the guy. Even Ragna is overwhelmed by his outburst. [[ChivalrousPervert Skirt-chaser he may be]], [[JerkWithAHeartOfGold let it never be said that he doesn't care about women as people]].
** In general, harm a woman in his presence and the final minutes of your life will be agonizing.

* * After [[spoiler: being nearly killed and then turned into Phantom]] she '''really''' hates Terumi. Hakumen notes that only her, Ragna and Kokonoe have enough hatred on their own to keep Terumi in this world.

* The mere existence of Ragna The Bloodedge is this to her. She thinks it’s his fault that Jin and Noel betrayed the NOL (which is [[FromACertainPointOfView technically true]]). In fight intros [[IrrationalHatred she says that]] '''everything wrong in the entire world''' is his fault (which, again, is technically true[[note]]The Black Beast was the result of Ragna and Nu merging[[/note]]), but she doesn't know that.
