!!''Guilty Gear'' ''STRIVE-''
!!!Story mode
* Despite being an NPC, Goldlewis Dickinson, the U.S. Secretary of Defense, might have won the running for the series' most ImpossiblyCoolWeapon. His weapon is a coffin containing an alien corpse from Area51, ''[[EpicFlail which he swings on a chain like a flail.]]'' This, combined with his suave voice, large stature, beard, and even just his name, made Goldlewis a [[EnsembleDarkhorse very popular character in the fandom]]. Needless to say, much rejoicing occurred when he was revealed to be the first character to be added to the roster as a part of the first Season Pass.
* During the aftermath of Happy Chaos' terrorist attack which blew up an entire skyscraper, Axl is shown standing on the outskirts of the city the attack took place in while holding one of the survivors, which he had been shown rescuing earlier by [[TimeStandsStill freezing time during the tower explosion]]. Once I-No catches up to Axl and admonishes him about the use of his abilities, the camera pans up to reveal ''dozens if not hundreds of unconscious civilians'' laid out around them, all of whom Axl ''casually teleports away'' later on, presumably to a hospital. The massive difference between his old bumbling self who kept getting randomly warped through time and his present TimeMaster incarnation couldn't have been better shown.
* The fact that Chipp is able to keep up with Happy Chaos' getaway car, Sol's Fire Wheel bike and Anji Mito's Fuujin-generated butterfly cloud mount during a high speed chase ''while on foot'' deserves special mention.
* In order to smash through a blockade of Happy Chaos' soldiers during the White House skirmish and clear the way for President Vernon, Sol forgoes resorting to his Junkyard Dog and instead opts for using ''[[BatteringRam a 50-meter statue of Abraham Lincoln as a bludgeon and battering ram]]''.
* With Happy Chaos and I-No finally having merged into a godlike being and Sol de-powered and unconscious, all hope seems to be lost as the now deific I-No begins her own spin on [[AssimilationPlot Instrumentality]] for the sake of achieving her "[[PutThemAllOutOfMyMisery perfect universe]]", causing every single human to helplessly cry in joy as they witness a giant version of I-No in the process of rewriting reality. Cue ''Ky Kiske'', one of the only people who doesn't get reduced to tears, walking up to I-No, popping [[SuperMode Dragon Install]] and giving her the fight of her life, which ends with Ky impaling her with Rising Force. Sadly, the attempt to kill her falls flat as his Scales of Juno powers are insufficient, but even I-No admitted that Ky momentarily put her on the ropes.
* Sol finally unveiling his new version of the completed Outrage during the final battle against a godlike I-No at full power, which turns out to be a [[{{BFG}} humongous beam cannon]]. Made even more awesome by the fact that at this point, he has lost all of his draconic Flame of Corruption powers and has been brought down to the level of a generic superhuman, meaning that the stress of firing the Outrage with its immeasurable power output would be more than enough to kill him. [[BeyondTheImpossible Despite sustaining severe injuries,]] ''[[BeyondTheImpossible he survives the attempt and succeeds at defeating I-No.]]''
** To put it in another light, the one to save all existence in the eleventh hour from the final and greatest threat of the [[EldritchLocation Backyard]] isn't [[StoryBreakerPower Sol Badguy]] -- but ''[[GadgeteerGenius Frederick Bulsara.]]'' [[note]]Made even more awesome in hindsight when a crumbling I-No can't fathom why a PhysicalGod like Sol would ever bother creating something so [[GodzillaThreshold unbelievably]] [[InfinityPlusOneSword excessive]] as a second Outrage when he just plain ''didn't need it.'' Sol's response? It was ''[[MundaneMadeAwesome a hobby]].''[[/note]]
* In ''Another Story'', one of the starboard-side cables from the Jellyfish Pirates[='=] airship snaps during the process of trying to safely disperse Delilah's out of control powers to save a town that's underneath her. May catches it with her anchor, and then Baiken catches ''her'' with her own chain around the pirate's waist. Baiken then proceeds to loop around the airship ''several times'' to help maintain the magic door Dr. Faust has open. Normally, May would've been cut in half by Baiken's chain, and neither would've had the necessary strength to even be able to maintain tension on the cable without any actual anchoring to the airship. Despite that, ''both of them'' last long enough for Dr. Faust to safely disperse most of Delilah's power, and neither are the worse for wear, other than May wanting a meal and a long nap.

!!!Gameplay
* Many of the new Overdrives are visually spectacular, and oftentimes people don't even feel bad about being on the receiving end of them just because of how awesome they are.
** Special mention goes to Potemkin's upgraded Heavenly Potemkin Buster. After grabbing his opponent, he uses ''jetpacks'' to propel himself and his victim to the actual heavens, where two Hindu gods[[note]]Speculated by [[https://gear-project.tumblr.com/post/188811465979/what-is-up-with-potemkins-heavenly-potemkin this post]] to be Indra, God of the Skies, and Saraswati, Goddess of Music[[/note]] witness his ascension... and then he comes crashing down, ''bringing his opponent's health down with him''. It's been lauded as one of the best command grab supers in fighting game ''history'', and it helps that it's one of the most damaging moves in the entire game, outdone only by a fully-charged Down With The System from Goldlewis.
** Faust's new Overdrive, Bone-Crushing Excitement, which replaces Stimulating Fists of Annihilation, is equal parts cinematic and hilarious, and what did you expect from Faust? The move starts when Faust notices a four-leaf clover under his opponent's feet, and he trips them trying to get a closer look. After realizing what he's done, he immediately grabs a wheelchair and rushes to their aid... only for the wheelchair's footrest to ''collide with his opponent's shin'' for major damage. [[MinorInjuryOverreaction The reactions]] really are what sells it, and it's unique for each character!

** May's ''[[http://youtu.be/eOpJ10YEiwI?t=1m20s And Farewell]]'' is both awesome [[Funny/GuiltyGear and hilarious]]. She lays a smackdown on the opponent [[StreetFighter Shun-Goku-Satsu]] style, and when they wake up they find that they've been [[HumanCannonball stuffed into a cannon]]; after which they are promptly [[TwinkleInTheSky blasted into the clouds.]]

* Series creator and Sol's VA, Creator/DaisukeIshiwatari, screaming a '''[[CallingYourAttacks GUN FLAME]]''' at the Anime Expo 2009. [[https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=wCfzQrImGtY See it by yourself.]]
* The audience at [=CEOtaku=] 2019 didn't just cheer for the May gameplay trailer: [[https://twitter.com/CEOJebailey/status/1178464173522640896 they sang along]] to the new opening theme "Smell of the Game".
* Arc System Works has done what many had believed to be unthinkable: [[https://twitter.com/ArcSystemWorksU/status/1240459490480123904 rollback netcode is confirmed to be in the full version of -STRIVE-]].
* When the [=GGXXAC+R=] rollback beta started, the game proceeded to blow away all expectations and actually became the most played fighting game on Steam, beating out both ''VideoGame/DragonBallFighterZ'' and ''VideoGame/StreetFighterV''. It got so much support that Arc System Works actually extended the beta just to let people continue to play the game. Quite impressive for such an old game.

* TheReveal of this new game is truly an epic moment in ''Guilty Gear'' history. After almost five years of nothing but UpdatedRerelease and ASW's attention to ''VideoGame/BlazBlue'', the surprise [[https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=NKGPhKu3jNg trailer at the Arc Festival]] made grown men cry.
** There's so much hype that the trailer had 600,000+ views in four days, never had any ASW video generated such traffic.

* Dizzy's return could be considered this in itself in a meta sense. After winning the character poll, there was a lengthy period of radio silence for months until she was finally revealed after the Evolution 2016 finals for the game in front of an adoring crowd. And, oh yeah, she's going to be available ''the very next day''. ''That'' line in the trailer caused one of the loudest crowd pops in Evolution history.
* With the announcement of ''[[UpdatedRerelease Guilty Gear Xrd REV 2]]'', it's been confirmed that Baiken is returning as a playable character after being absent in ''-SIGN-'' and relegated to an NPC role in ''-REVELATOR-''.

Badass Mustache and Badass Beard were merged into Manly Facial Hair. Examples that don't fit or are zero-context are removed. Having facial hair is not enough to qualify. To qualify for Manly Facial Hair, the facial hair must be associated with manliness in some way. Please read the trope description before re-adding to make sure the example qualifies.
