* [[RunawayBride Runaway Groom]]: In "Beware The Time Machine", Lupin convinces Fujiko to marry him in order to continue the Lupin line in anticipation of his coming demise. Then, after the VillainOfTheWeek is thwarted and Lupin is no longer under threat of impending death, Fujiko tries to make Lupin honor the proposal while he gets cold feet and flees the church.

Trope is now Definition Only

* OffModel: Even by early 70's standards, Episode 3 – [[Recap/LupinIIIS1E3 "Farewell My Beloved Witch"]] – is considered incredibly poor, to the point that the Japanese VHS release opted to skip it entirely (it's on the DVD collections). Its lack of quality is due in part to the show's TroubledProduction – it went in for final revisions just after Masaaki Ohsumi was fired but before Takahata & Miyazaki came on board.
** The openings (particularly the second one) use footage from the 1969 Pilot Film, which was drawn in a style closer to that of Monkey Punch, and with a different color scheme for the title character. It's jarring to see Lupin with brown hair and a red jacket in the opening, but with black hair and a green jacket in the actual episode.
