* Fanfic/TheNaekawaProject: Toko's parents are most definitely fitting for this trope, as the rumors that her father hit her and her mothers would say terrible things were apparently tamer. The stories she tells spell it out how bad they were.
** Genji, her father, hitting her is further explained, as he whipped her back raw for dropping a spoon while her second mother Shizuku called her existence a mistake.
** Himari, Toko's first mother, locked her in a closet for three days, and her father and second mother laughed about it while saying they didn't have to look at her. ugly face.
** Shizuku ripped up a manuscript she'd been working on for six months and then blotted out, laughing as Toko begged her to stop.

** While Todd is a very good father to Mary, Dana is a complete and total nightmare, emotionally and even physically abusing Mary whenever she displays any signs of her autism and badgering her to act more “normal”. It extends even further than that, with her trying to “fix” Mary by sending her to various programs meant to fix or cure her and her claiming that "Mary ruins everything" on her blog.
** Irene (Dana's mother) abuses her daughter any chance she can get, whether it's forcing her to grow up into the 'perfect' housewife or ruthlessly insulting her for anything and everything she has "done wrong". The abuse turned out so bad that Dana moves to another state just to get away from her, but Irene moves anyways just to abuse Dana more.

** After a childhood of mistreating his son Dev's father bashed his head against the kitchen sink for coming home drunk, then left him on the floor. Dev nearly died and has a plate in his head from the surgery, but told the hospital that he'd just fallen down while drunk.
** Cass acknowledges that her biological father was not a good man and that his violence towards her as a little girl was not acceptable. She had Bruce confront him in her stead due to her conflicting and negative emotions about the man.

** In addition to being neglectful, Nerissa sent Chelsea on what would have been a suicide mission if she failed or was caught and told her that even if she survived, she wouldn't be welcome back without the trident. Chelsea is also sure that if she went against her mother for any reason her mother would "cut her in half". After Chelsea fails, Nerissa deems her a failure (and dead) and moves on with plan B. Additionally, it's later revealed that Nerissa was always disappointed in Chelsea for her weak voice and saw no use for her other than getting the Trident. When Chelsea returns alive she expresses no relief and basically disowns her for her failure. Upon realizing she fell in love with Ruby, she exiles her as a siren and outright gives her people orders to kill her if she's seen again.
** A flashback of Agatha’s childhood shows that Emerald would always yell at her if she did something unprincess like and if she talked back then things would get "messier". Their relationship becomes more strained after chapter five when Agatha stops Emerald from killing Chelsea.

** Nine doesn't remember the names of his parents, or even his own, but from what little can be gathered in his inner monologue in Chapter 6, it was very unpleasant.
** Slice was constantly neglected by her dad, running away at the age of 10 and spending 9 years alone before Izuku found her.
* Fanfic/EmeraldFurnacePathOfWaves: While Inko loved and supported Izuku in canon, here she tries to set up a slew of 'dos' and 'do nots' to prevent Izuku's Quirk from flaring up. This amounts to Quirk Suppression, which in canon, led to Himiko Toga becoming a villain. When Ryukyu asks why Inko didn't go to the government for help, she adamantly refuses to accept her methods did more harm than good.

** If what Eunice says is any indication about her children growing up to not feel or understand love, then Teddy and Tommy Bassett are possibly just as abusive towards their children as Jennifer is to Farkle.
** Claire Ferguson recalls not only her abuse from her father but also her former husband’s abuse towards her and her daughter.
** Morgan mentions that her former boyfriend was at least verbally abusive and would have been physical, if she wasn’t able to fight him back.

* Harren Hoare from Fanfic/ForumOfThrones is heavily implied to be this. Three out of four children grew up to be messed up in some way and he likely had a hand in this. Firmly believing in raising his sons with a strong hand, he showed little love for them, combining this trope with ParentalNeglect. On top of that, he respected them only when they earned it, which at least Harlan and Harndon never did. His physical beating of Harmund instilled the boy with a deep-seated wish to assure his dominance over others, which led to him becoming abusive to his younger siblings as well, something Harren either did not care about, or even outright encouraged. Interestingly Harren is shown to have at least some love for his sons. Years later, a visit from her and his sister is awful because they constantly berate and criticize Hizashi, Shouta and Hitoshi and when Hitoshi uses his quirk on one of them to stand up for his dads, one of the women throws a glass at him and yells for the boy to be punished. ** Both of them are this to Sara as well, though of the neglectful variety. When Quentin and Dinah weren't spoiling her rotten and letting her get away with murder, they were ignoring her and failing to give her any sufficient moral support. When you look at it objectively, Sara is as much of a victim of their bad parenting as Laurel was, just in a less obvious and seemingly more palatable fashion.

* While Stoick's parenting in Fanfic/OrangeCat64 is built more on ignorance than malice, at best he's neglectful, prioritizing his chiefing over actually looking to his son's needs, continually postponing taking any time to train Hiccup to fight under the belief that he wasn't ready. At worst, he's emotionally abusive, either making Hiccup think that it was somehow Hiccup's own fault that Stoick had no time for him (albeit by accident) and misinterpreting Hiccup's silent pleas for help as him being stubborn. It takes years of Hiccup's aloofness, scolding from his daughter-in-law and seeing how radically different a dad Hiccup is to Zephyr for it to really sink in.

At worst, he's emotionally abusive, either making Hiccup think that it was somehow Hiccup's own fault that Stoick had no time for him (albeit by accident) and or misinterpreting Hiccup's silent pleas for help as him being stubborn. It takes years of Hiccup's aloofness, scolding from his daughter-in-law daughter-in-law, and seeing how radically different a dad Hiccup is to Zephyr for it to really sink in.

* In Fanfic/CellarSecrets, this is played with in Ragyo's case. While neither Satsuki or Nui gets the worst of her treatment, she does seem to abuse them psychologically and lorded over them with fear (i.e her beating her secretary and leaving them to see her injuries and the fact that they don't refer to her as "mother"). However, at the same, she was exceptionally cruel to , keeping her caged and isolated in the titular cellar and, apparently, physically abusing her. She does regret her treatment of her daughters and, as she dies, tells them she loves them, however, she acknowledges she can do nothing to atone.

Needless to say, after Ragyo is struck by car, her parents divorce and her father takes full custody of her. From what we got in chapter 27, her response to Ryuuko wetting the bed was to make her take a cold bath and, in chapter 35, we find out that the worst she's done so far was pull a then 3-year old Ryuuko's hair and give her pinches. Besides the aforementioned three, we can assume her punishments for Ryuuko were mainly benign. However, while she doesn't mean any harm by it, her treatment does have it's effect on Ryuuko mentally, as the latter feared breaking her rules for some reason or another.
