The Messiah is no longer a trope. Please readd as an actual trope.
- The Messiah: Neil Sinclair. No matter how many times he is knocked back by more cynical or pessimistic characters, he keeps on trying, time and again, to gather as many students he can in an attempt to escape. His hugely idealist approach includes but is not limited to inviting a classmate into the group who had previously killed one of the other members of his group - S.A.D.D.
Strange Girl isn't a trope anymore it's a disambigution page. I'm moving this here so some else more familiar with is work can sort out which tropes under Strange Girl this fits into.
- Strange Girl: Version 4's Anna Chase is... a little off. To get an idea, she is an Eerie Pale-Skinned Brunette with some level of Perky Goth to her, that is obsessed with horror movies, and is a massive Cloud Cuckoolander. At one point (in her introductory thread in pre-game) she tells her best friend not to eat her brains (It Makes Sense in Context... sort of). And that's not even going into some of her other personality traits. Overall, she is generally seen as somewhat eccentric by other characters.
- And then there's Lily Ainsworth, also from v4. She's even more of a Cloud Cuckoolander. Her father was a historian, which caused her to grow up in a British castle most of her life due to his work, and she herself has a tendency to ramble off certain facts as an attempt at conversation, while generally having No Social Skills. Add in her odd dress sense and her perky nature, and most characters also see her as a little odd.

What game mechanics, if any, make instant death possible with these games? Please be specific. For example weapons, hit locations, critical damage, direct one shot one kill weapons (like the Golden Gun in GoldenEye)
Does an Instant Death Bullet Occur in cut scenes, gameplay, or anywhere else in the game?
- Averted in Survival Of The Fittest; short of a shot straight through the head or heart, even a fatally wounded character isn't going to instantly drop dead like someone turned an off switch. However, sometimes it goes too far. One particularly notable subversion was Seth Mattlock's Big Damn Heroes moment in v2. Seth shot his opponent in the back twice with his Walther P38, but they were able to turn around and shoot back at him, only being killed when Bryan Calvert kicks him off the roof and through a skylight. Seth himself is hit in the ribs and lungs, and instead of instantly being killed lies on the ground bleeding out, unable to breathe and in incredible agony until Bryan finishes him off at his request.
Survival Of The Fittest is a Play-by-Post game; it's purely written by members of the community. I believe the example is referring to the fact that it usually doesn't appear in the RP itself in a written context. For example, if one character shoots another and the second character has been rolled (making it a Foregone Conclusion that this character will die soon), there's a good chance that they will spend at least one paragraph in their next post/a few minutes in canon before they truly bite the dust. There was, however, a Played Straight example in v3 endgame: a character was shot in the gut, and she died almost instantly.
The example does need to be better-written, though.

So after reading the main page, I'm interested in following the events of SotF. Seems like it could be a really good read for a Battle Royale fan like myself. But after checking it out, I can't figure out how I'm supposed to follow it. Everything is scattered around. Am I supposed to pick a character and follow them until they die? Or read everything and somehow figure out what order it's in chronologically? And for that matter, is there any way of reading past versions? If someone could help me with this, it would be appreciated.

Unfortunately, by nature the RP can be pretty dang hard to follow. Generally it's done in the same fashion as you yourself suggested. Read by character rather than try to figure out a chronology (it's been attempted before and it's all but impossible).
Past versions are all on the boards. There's a lot of information on the site's wiki and characters are generally suppposed to have links to all their threads (sadly a wip as opposed to a finished project) - it's all archived in any case, so the old versions are still there.
I recently tried reading through v1 in the manner suggested, and while it worked fine, it was very time-consuming especially since I often wound up following poorly-written characters that went nowhere. I think it would help for new viewers if there was a list of suggested characters for each version; I've prepared such a list below for v1 and will return with other lists for the other versions once I'm done with them (if others don't get to it first).

Yes, some of those are kinda oddball choices, but I feel like reading through these characters' stories will give you a really good sense of how the game plays out. They're not necessarily the 'best' characters and some of them aren't really the most 'important' characters, but I think they're fairly representative of v1 as a whole and you won't miss much of importance if you just follow these guys. While there are a lot of characters on this list, some of them spend much of the game together so it's not *quite* as much reading, and I've included several different members of the same group to avoid spoiling which ones go farthest (that's also why they're in numerical order). And while you're reading these characters, you may also run across other characters that you find interesting enough to read as well! ^_^

A page for each version would probably be needlessly complicated. After all most serial works don't have different pages for each season, as it were.
As for a character page... well, unless it was based off the V.I.P page on the SotF wiki, you'll have a hard time. There's a stupid amount of characters out there.

Was pondering how hard it would be for a Sot F Character page, but if it ever happened the character page would pretty much have to be divided up by version, and then maybe one more page for 'non-student' characters, like the terrorists and any other side characters. It would be difficult, but... not impossible, I don't think. Though, counting up, between all four versions (not including minis) there's 712 students. So that's a lot of characters.
Why is this indexed on the Useful Notes for Poland page?

Somebody on the Poland page started a list of fictional polish people, which was inside the portion of the page that was designated as index markup. As such, since every character name was potholed to the relevant series, it meant that all of those work pages got the Poland index.
I've removed the list from that page for being not under the scope of Useful Notes, so the markup should be gone now.

The first sentence sounds like a contradiction. An entirely original plot based off Battle Royale? The plot concept is even the same, school students, school trip, collars, weapons.

Original in that it is not a government sponsored 'Act' taking place in a nation in the grasp of a dictatorship. I wouldn't say having the same premise - that students are abducted and put onto an abandoned island - is the same thing as the plot being the same.
Yeah, it's obviously based off Battle Royale, but it doesn't use that work's universe. There are probably some parts of the wording that can be questioned and I'm not saying you're flat out wrong, but I'm pretty sure the person who originally wrote the article took it as the plot being the characters, their actions, and the background to what takes place. None of that's the same as B R.
