openThe Greatest Story Never Told comic Print Comic
The Greatest Story Never Told has an entry about a Marvel series that I just can't pin down, mainly cause it's written as vaguely as possible (I tried to find it so I could rewrite the entry to be clearer).
"A six-issue limited series from Marvel Comics told the story of a normal human who was down on his luck and borderline suicidal who gets killed right as an extra-dimensional big bad is opening a rift with a magic artifact intending to unleash the embodiment of Death upon the multiverse. His resulting passage through the gate closes it and bonds him to the weapon making him immortal and causing him to be reborn into another universe anytime he dies as only the weapon can end his life. He eventually foolishly returns the weapon to the Big Bad after getting a promise to leave Earth alone and return him there but upon seeing all the deaths occurring, sacrifices his life and dies a noble hero to end the Big Bad's scheme once and for all. Meanwhile back on earth, you see the heartbreaking disposal of his worldly possessions such as family photos in a trash can while being called a worthless loser."
Any guesses?
openHidden Image/ Folding Pictures from Children's Magazine Print Comic
Year ago in a children's magazine (likely "Highlights" or a similar American publication aimed at grade school children) I saw a neat hidden image illustration of medieval town and castle built onto a hillside. The illustration covered two pages; when those pages were gate-folded inwards the image of a town transformed into a reclining dragon.
This was not a "magic eye" picture or a printed paper fortune teller that was meant to be snipped out and folded up - the pages were meant to remain stapled into the magazine.
Year of publication would likely have been between 2000 and 2007. If anyone recalls a similar feature printed in a kid's magazine or an artist that made illustrations like this, I'd be happy for a lead.
openPiece of Art depicting a yellow field in New York City Print Comic
This was an artistic photograph (found through the service DailyArt), where a woman in white was wandering through a yellow (presumably grain) field outside of New York City. It was mentioned to be made around the 1960s-80s, before that area was turned into housing.
The best way to describe it is that it’s similar to the album cover for Melanie's "Garden in the City". It’s a similar angle and with a similar-looking woman.

resolved Mickey Mouse comic Print Comic
I once had a Disney characters comic of 3 stories, the first ("Let's Get Kraken") and the 3rd featuring Donald Duck, and the 2nd featuring Mickey Mouse. It's the 2nd one and the 3rd (striking cuz I found it from this site, mentions Gemstone publishing.) that I'm having trouble finding the titles of.
- The Mickey one starts with Goofy's interview. When he's told to interpret some ink blots, one design in particular hypnotises him, and the interviewers as well. The aim of those hypnotised seems to be to get more people hypnotised, including the police force (Officer O'hara included) and collect equipment, especially black paint cans. Then they board a spaceship that Mickey follows on, he finds that they'll paint on the moon, and that the mastermind is the Phantom Blot (this is where I first knew of him, btw). He maroons Mickey on the moon, who mops up the design, but almost goes unconscious until an alien helps give him oxygen and finish cleaning faster. Then the alien gives him a space skiff(?) to depart, and helps the spaceship of ex-hypnotised folks to land safely. I know the Phantom Blot is a recurring enemy, but I can't find "moon" or a relevant use of "alien" on Mickey Mouse Comic Universe.
EDIT: Okay, looks like all I needed to do was dig a bit deeper still. This site gives the exact book I had in its US publications list, and the 2nd story is called "Blot Clot".
Edited by BlackFaithStaropenRich Man Buys Things and Paint them Red Print Comic
A short comic, probably from an anthology - in a small town, the richest guy in town is driving around when he sees a couple on a date at a restaurant. He thinks the scene is romantic, so he buys the restaurant and paints the table, chairs and some of the floor red.
The townspeople don't mind at first, because they're getting the money. But, he keeps doing it in other places - a bench where an old man was feeding the birds, a swing in a park where kids were playing... the people start getting mad about him trying to buy their happiness and keep them from going to those places. In the end, they all storm his mansion and kill him.
The story's a bit like a Tales from the Crypt story, but it was probably made much more recent, maybe during the eighties or nineties. It might be from some european anthology, but if it is, it's been translated to english.
Edited by Mac_Rresolved French comic about popular fictional characters going to therapy Print Comic
I'm trying to recall the name of this parody comic series in France. The gist of it is a number of illustrators, cartoonists, and artists will take a well-known character from pop culture, and they'll draw them going to therapy, specifically with a therapist listening to whatever problems they are going through related to their franchise/TV show/what have you.
The first volume for this series had a red cover; Mickey Mouse, Batman, Mario, and UFO Robot Grendizer are floating over each other, while a chaise longue is on the floor beneath all of them.
(I also recall their being a Tumblr blog that hosted some of these drawings, but I can't find this either).
resolved Garfield strip where he changes the shape of his teeth Print Comic
In this strip, Jon is telling Garfield that he sometimes can't tell if he's happy or angry. Garfield smiles normally and says that now he's happy, then smiles the same way but now his teeth are sharp and says that now he's angry.
openTime travel story with changing memories Print Comic
I think I read about this one somewhere on TV Tropes. I remember it being a comic book but it might have been something else with visuals involved. The basic story is that a time traveler goes back in time in an attempt to change history. However, it turns out that the time traveler doesn't have Ripple-Effect-Proof Memory, so they keep coming back to the present and being annoyed that nothing changed, even though the comic's illustrations show that they're actually causing greater and greater changes to the timeline.
openHumanity becomes a giant blob after hearing alien signal Print Comic
Genre: Cosmic Horror
Publishing Date: Around 2010’s
Publisher: Unknown (Avatar / Oni / Image, etc)
The story revolves when Humanity starts hearing an alien signal from outer space. Anyone who hears the signal feel the urge to start merging together with other humans who have also heard the signal, in order to form a giant fleshy blob monster.
I think the story is also part of a trilogy of comic book stories by the same writer, including one where alien parasites (known as Red, Blue, Green, etc) invade Earth.
openBoy Genius Detective Brings Folding Chair to Dinner Party Print Comic
Manga/manhwa/manhua or graphic novel in English (art in b/w but cover may have been using purple or a shade of brown) that I started reading in a public library, but can't find it now: Starts with a strong Hogwarts vibe (although I don't think there was any magic involved) with Dumbledore-like old bearded man bringing a young girl to the huge multi-story stacks in the school library as her new job. She's to be the assistant to this introverted teen or pre-teen boy genius who's called on to solve mysteries but doesn't like to leave the library. He receives an invitation to a dinner party on a ship, and insists that the assistant bring a folding chair. It turns out this was a good idea because there aren't enough chairs at the table for her to sit otherwise. There may have been something about there now being 13 people at the table. Didn't get far enough to see what crime would be committed, but everyone else there was older and at least a few were rich.
openPost Second American Civil War comic Print Comic
Comic Publisher: Image Comics
Date Published: 2018/19
All I remember about this is what I saw on a certain comics website; The plot revolves around a young couple (one man, one woman) given orders to enter America after the Federal Government had effectively closed their borders and shut down all outside communications roughly ten years previously following a civil war.
The end of the first issue had them enter the country via New York City and being greeted by a diplomatic delegation.
Can anybody here please help me find out the title of this interesting comic…?
openComic book about a prisoner being tasked to escape within a day; has a twist ending Print Comic
I remember reading this in a reprint of an anthology series as a backup story, possibly a DC or Marvel comic, but for the life of me I have no idea what it was. It was a short story revolving around a condemned prisoner being put in a jail with only one exit, and if he could find it within a set amount of time, he'd be free, but otherwise he'd be executed.
The guy tried several escape attempts but found them all impossible, such as making his way to the moat which was surrounded by crocodiles, up a tower that was too high to jump from, and through a wall that led straight back to the dungeon. When time was up he angrily cried that his jailer had lied and there was no way out, but it was so simple he overlooked it. The cell door was unlocked and he could have walked out at any time.
Edited by lalalei2001openComic about a sup hero dating a super villan Print Comic
This was a comic I saw on the Amazon digital bookstore, and it was a miniseries featuring a female superhero dating a male supervillain, neither knowing the others identity.I think there was an annual issue or special focused on a male version of the main superhero
openSuperman story where Pa Kent claims to not be religious Print Comic
I have a vague memory of reading a Superman comic from the early 2000s where Pa Kent tells his son Clark that he (Pa) does not believe in God and has only attended church in the past because Ma made him. (This contradicts many stories from the 1990s where Pa was explicitly religious himself). What issue was this? I think it's from the "futuristic Metropolis" era with Jeph Loeb and Joe Kelly.
Edited by StarformDCXopenSci-fi story where a girl gets roped into a space adventure. Print Comic
Trying to remember about what this comic was called I read many years ago. I remember some bits of it. It was a sci-fi comic (or graphic novel?) about a girl that gets roped into a space adventure. Also has a guy with a peg-leg and an R2-D2 trash can looking robot.
I remember one scene that has a building monster that gets defeated by a toothbrush falling into it's mouth.
openComic about a ghostly figure taking out members of a heist crew who betrayed one of it's members Print Comic
Heist crew pulls a major job which may be a fortune from crime boss (not sure about it) and betray one of their members.
After a Time Skip, the heist crew members used their cut of the loot to become crime bosses of their respective ethnic groups eg Japanese guy becomes a Yakuza boss kinda like ''Kill Bill"
Guy in a white suit and (pretty sure) mask starts taking out the heist crew members. The heist crew members are not sure if the white suited man some sort of ghost of the guy they betrayed or someone else.
Edited by jormis29resolved Fashion Manga where lady gets tutored by man Print Comic
Manga I read in my teens two volumes in; I know for a fact that one of the American publishers of the 2000s licensed it.
Basically it’s about some teenage/adult? Girl who wants to get better at picking up dates, so she seeks the help of some fashion expect. He had black hair I believe.
In the 1st volume, she wears an outfit that the fashion tutor to an admirer, but he says “something came up”. She heard him on the phone criticizing her outfit, and he finds out immediately . She almost gets kidnapped by this guy, but the fashion tutor saves her.
There’s also a big plot about her falling in love with and giving up a himbo to the fashion tutor’s sister.
At the end of the 2nd volume, after a basketball game, she realizes she has feelings for her tutor.
openManga about Fantasy trials that let you graduate (Boys’ Love maybe?) Print Comic
Making a list of manga and comics I read in my youth, and I’m trying to remember this manga that had an interesting, if not sort-of complicated premise. I know one of the American manga publishers of the 2000s licensed it.
So, first off, the main protagonist has a dated depiction of gender dysphoria, that being his privates are all weird where he could be mistaken for a girl, despite being mostly biologically male.
Being depicted as a girl is a fear of his, and he’s having trouble graduate high school (I think it’s high school). So he ends up finding this challenge where one must complete trials while acting out as their worst deepest depiction of themselves. In our protag’s case, it’s just him wearing a girls’ school uniform.
In the first volume, he comes across a student who lost her identity, being depicted as her having no face. Her backstory is that she did a lot of deeds and kissed a lot of ass in order to get into a college she wanted, but she got rejected, thus her form in the challenge arena is her having no identity.
Events ensue, and the main protag lets this faceless girl win, but at a cost. See, whenever a student wins a challenge is able to graduate the high school, everyone’s memory of that student disappears.
So the 1st volume ends with this other guy we met before who basically wants to “sissify” the main protag because he wants him to be his girlfriend.

I remember picking up this manga from the library a long time ago, but the title escapes me. From what I remember, it was about a green-haired Cat Girl with white cat ears (that might've resembled the top half of a cat's head complete with eyes) and a Verbal Tic, getting into slice of life-ish adventures with another cat girl and a bunny girl. They might've been aliens too, I dunno.
