This is just a suggestion, but could we base the races loosely on reality? That is to say, could the fairies, trolls, et cetera be descended from humans? On second thought, this probably isn't a good idea, since it would confine us to a scf-fi setting, though I do like the idea of having all the races be related.
Let's just keep the origin unknown. I think we should persumed that all the races had been living in co-exsitance for tens of thousands of years.
I like the race list.
Any objections, or can we move on to Setting?
Usually here.Mysterious, fog-filled city with no discernible universe outside of it. I figured that could set up for a lot.
Warning: Posts may cause derp.Going back to characters for a bit, I suggest a Deconstruction of a The Load and/or The Chick kind of character, who's basically useless in a way that's tormenting him or herself.

Stargate SG-1 Let's Watch. Because my ZHP thing failed. How about the Halfling character is The Load deconstruction? Maybe even The Woobie, depending on how s/he sees hirself.
EDIT: Halfling, not Hobbit! I just noticed that!

Usually here.Hi. This looks interesting.
This is a signature.Setting before theme? Seriously? Well I guess it was a long time ago before it was necro'd so don't mind me. :P
Help?.. please...Woot! You've just re-necro'd this! *high-five*
This is a signature.Whoa, this thread got necro'd so- *NECRO'D*
i think i mostly want to see what happens when this whole place breaks apartMaybe a Big Bad Ensemble, so we get some interesting character interactions with the upper echelons of the villain ranks just like we would with the heroes? For example-
Bad Guy 1: Yeah, I gotta say, the best thing we can do at this point is just flatten the damn city. Ya can't walk away from that.
Bad Guy 2: Our grip on the masses is tenuous enough as it is, you dunce. We can't just-
Bad Guy 3: OOOH, EXPLOSIONS, I VOTE FOR THE PLAN WITH EXPLODEY THINGIES
Bad Guy 1: *smirks*
Bad Guy 2: ...why is he even here, again? *headdesks*

but HOW?Could we have The Omniscient Council of Vagueness, but make them all anti-heroic? They'd be a third-party. We'd have a Five-Man Band, a Big Bad Ensemble, and these guys. They'd range from the Classical Anti-Hero to the Pragmatic Hero, and they'd be heavily dysfunctional.

This is a signature.I like what I see, but have one thing to add: Functional Magic up the wazoo.
"Doki Doki Lit. Club" is a happy game where nothing bad happens. seriously tho? not for the faint of heart.I suggest we somehow add a race of alien like demons into the mix.
In the year 202X, all is devastation... Soon, any last shred of hope had by the saintliest optimist shall die and decay.Seeing as to how this thread has allegedly been necro'd, I think I should do a bit of a recap to make sure we're okay with what we have so far.
Cyberpunk Urban Fantasy with some connection to the afterlife, several different races. Any objections?
Also HOLY FaCKING SHeT!!!!!!!D'you think I should maybe just start a completely new thread?
Also HOLY FaCKING SHeT!!!!!!!I don't know whether that would be necessary.
This is a signature.Necro....? I just want to get in on this it sounds awesome.
Saint LaughterYeah definately Necro but same here. Pretty good idea.
Also HOLY FaCKING SHeT!!!!!!!
Like this?
Yes, I added Halflings, because my interpretation of Trolls are fuzzy short humans with tails, so I thought that I could switch the label into halfling.
EDIT: Since there aren't any regular Elves, I called the Dark Elves "Drow".
