In which we get updates from the lives of tropers. Kinda like Twitter with more than 140 characters, but less than a blog or LJ.

Please refrain from excess venting in this thread. Talking about negative emotions is fine but it's best not to dwell on them for too long. TV Tropes is not suited to deal with mental health situations.

Paid by the hour. Currently it's proofreading the manuscript for a book, but he's also interested in having me do some counting and organizing regulations afterwards.

Gah, the college bookstore just called me for an interview, months after I graduated, months after I applied for it, and weeks after I was finally promoted at the job I have now.

I'm going today before work, though it was like Plan G on my list of plans for bettering my life. And I said to myself that I'd rather not have to go back to school...

But it is "experience with books", and I need that if I still want to get work in a library. :/ If I actually get it though, I'll either have to work it around my old job, or quit from my old job shortly after they promoted me.

Ech, tis all so bittersweet...

OK LESS' DO THIS

So, some of you may be wondering, "Faust, why did you drop off the face of the site come September?"

Well, here's the answer.

So, I had a summer job where the hours provided many many chances to be on TEH INTERWEBNETS and was able to trope mycold dead heart out to it's content. The SUMMER SEASON ended on Labor Day and I had to go back home. Now, as it was the first time I had been home since GRADUATING HIGH SCHOOL (WOO) my PARENTS changed a few things. Namely, they want me to "PAY RENT". Now, that's not a literal "rent" but they want me to have a paycheck before they let me use the INTERWEBNETS, just to show that I COULD pay for them if I needed to, but it's a long story and I won't go into it.

IN. ANY. CASE! That's why I haven't been on in close to a month. THANKFULLY! I have secured several JOB OFFERS and seem to be on the right track to obtain a LAPTOP for reasons (read: I want my Steam account! [read like I want my MTVVVV!!! ]) and will (hopefully) be on more and more as time goes on and I acquire such laptop. It will take time, however!

In any case, in the meantime I just got back from NYC and can say that the trip was kickass. Lots of cool people, places, and such abounded (Shout out for Trash and Vaudeville, a sweet Quincy Punk shop over on St. Mark's street; I got me a KILT!) and have literally just returned to my home in Seattle. I am checking with various locations and making sure I have employment soon for everything. As stated on the Absent Tropers thread I'm not coming back quite just yet but you'll be damn sure I'll log in here as soon as I get a laptop. In any case, stay frickin' awesome, folks.

FAUST, OUT!

What's this? No work tomorrow. That's unusual.

So I and my friend stay up all night eating pizza and chocolate cake before drowning in fizy drinks. Good thing we both move a lot daily.

@ Lemon. Wow! That sounds exhilarating, if that sort of thing is fascinating for you. I hope you're getting paid a good wage!

DO IT!

Jokes aside, it's an extremely rare show that becomes better every season and has a very satisfying ending. It might be bleak and start slow, but I found it more than worth it.

The fire alarm at my place of work has been malfunctioning all week. Also, someone apparently complained about the music, therefor management decided until further notice we can only have the local mix station on. So this is my impression of what the store sounds like right now: BEEP BEEP BEEP BEEP BEEP Kelly Clarkson BEEP BEEP BEEP BEEP Katy Perry BEEP BEEP BEEP P!nk. I am seriously considering bringing a pair of earplugs I have left over from a loud rock show to work tomorrow. Because of the beeping, not the pop music (mostly).

I have male pattern baldness and am a little self-conscious about it - sometimes I want to just shave my head completely, but I don't know whether that'd be a good look for me.

I'm on multiple dating sites and I've been neglecting my accounts, so my current plan is to sign on to one and message someone once a day - not necessarily a new person a day though: I got a response from one girl recently and I'm gonna concentrate on talking with her and seeing if anything develops.

Finished Hamlet. Sure, it's Shakespearean tradition that everyone dies, but that was a highly contrived ending. The series of fatal accidents that occurred was like a serial killing Rube Goldberg machine.

Just got stoned for the first time last night, via weed cookie. Even considering I started tripping pretty badly in the last half and I couldn't stop complaining how fucked up my life was, consensus from my friends is that I'm awesome when I'm stoned.

I just wish Mom didn't overreact and leave for a while despite claiming how worried she was about me.

I'm lucky I just woke up with a headache and whatever this emotional heartache is, because if I was in actual drug-related trouble it would be ill-advised to just Rage Quit and leave me with my eighteen-year-old niece to watch me.
