Ha ha! I just read the "When All You Have Is A Hammer" entry on Negi's character page. Cheers to whomever wrote it!

(Side note: isn't "whom" an ugly word? It's not aesthetically pleasing, you wouldn't want to take it home and feed it, and it's counterpart "wham" hasn't been used in several centuries. Why do we still have "whom"?)

@Ack Sed: No, they're third and second place, respectively. No.1 goes to Badass-Adventurer!Nodoka... when it comes out, anyway!

@Japanese Teeth: Now you see why tagging potentially spoileriffic stuff is a good idea; much of the speculation in the last two pages that was derived from the spoiler pics turned out to be true to some extent. I'm glad I was fortunate enough to reflexively skip over the un-tagged posts in time, once my personal Spoiler Alert(TM) sounded.

But... why, why, WHY did they have to use f***ing watermarks?! The last page, in particular! I can't see her facial expression clearly! <grumblegrumble>

I think we can add "The Power of Love" to our trope examples and Chekhovs gun i think. Ako's braclet came from Chapter 124 and now it's 286. Akamatsu sure knows how to remember small plot points. Either way a good chapter and please no break.

Better add "The Power of Friendship" and "The Power of Trust", too. What good is either Love or Friendship if you can't Trust your beloved/friend? Look at Makie: she's certainly not lacking in the love department, if her antics during the "Negi Wars" chapter(s) are any indicator; but it takes her (re)affirming her trust in her teacher for her to get herself to lay her hand on his - and, of course, get stunned (along with the others) as he starts getting better right after that. Perhaps Makie really has been born lucky (or was that another girl?).

I'm pretty sure that his threat level is a good deal higher now. The warning should also read: "Danger, do not so much as look at his harem wrong or your life is forfeit. Can also turn self into lightning. Or a demon. You're boned either way."

@Cancerlad: go right ahead and add the "Reaaaally Stoned" one. The other one, we should probably wait until it actually happens. Which it probably will, but no point jumping the gun.

It's an Incredibly Lame Pun people keep making with regard to the first time the group encountered Fate and Negi nearly succumbed to his petrification spell.

Oh - honestly I need to archive binge again sometime to remember half this stuff. Couple hundred chapters and its pretty dense sometimes.

About the "hit list": You what is really funny? I can't really remember if I actually first saw it here or on another site. A google search for posterck9 (the name of the file) turns out only a very short list of results, none of whom strike any bells to me. Nevermind, I found out where I saw it first: Chick Magnet page, scroll down to Tsukihime entry on Tohno Shiki.

Great to see memoryloss!Yue completely not buying their mutual love for Negi, and her accompanying expospeak.

The more I hear Haruna speak,the more I am convinced that my characterisation as Japan's most perverted schoolgirl is correct. Yue/Nodoka/Negi forever!

*rubs hands together* Some juicy revelations about Yuuna's parents in the next chapter? Can't wait.

I also found that quite a hilarious Call-Back to the way that Yue originally responded when she realized that she loved Negi back during Mahorafest.

And yeah, the watermark is a paint in the butt, but I suppose it's the fault of the Raw provider, not the scanlator. They have to make due with what they have.

Why isn't Shinji Ikari on that list? Because explaining would be too spileriffic? Also, the threat levels, lethality and bounties don't correlate...

Umm... The list is almost 4 years old for one thing.

And I think the bounty amounts are based on how likely it is for more women to fall for the character while the threat levels are how powerful the characters are. Though this all an informed on my part.

I'm pretty sure that the whole "threat to mankind" is based more on how they're not leaving any women for anybody else than an actual physical threat. Shinji just isn't pimp enough for that list. Gendo, on the other hand...

Haruna might create a secondary harem... O_o

I can see it now; Haruna create clones of all of 3-A, including one of herself, which mimics her artifacts and creates more clones, which then create even more clones themselves. So Negi would have a self-replicating pervert army until the original Haruna's artifact hit its limit. It couldn't possibly end well.

^^^^ The threat level also seems to take into account possible "allies" who may take offense to any attempt to apprehend the "subject"; take Keiichi Morisato and Keitarou Urashima for instance, who on their own logically should pose "low-level" threat, but considering their respective Unwanted Harems' (potential) tendency to firmly oppose any foreign interference in their Love Dodecahedron's internal status quo...

I would also hazard a guess at why Negi's threat level is labelled "variable": They're not quite sure who may or may not side with him, who may or may not beat them up just for the hell of it, and they also have to consider his own future potential.
