[up][up] I actually got the pic from the Has Two Mommies page. The comic strip thing is from the Comic A la Carte manga and the comic the first link is from is called second mother's day, I know where you can download it if you want to look at it.

[up] I thought Subaru was only a follower of a Goddess not actually one herself?

[up]Goddess of Skates? Really? That's just...wow.

Do you know how many Nanoha characters are in the Pantheon? I know Vivio, Nanoha, Fate, Precia, Signum, Subaru and Cypha are in it, but is there anyone else in it that I'm missing?

So guys, I was kind of discussing this on Animesuki, but do you think the Huckebeins break the rules of that 'describe character without their appearance, costume or role in the story' quiz that Red Letter Media came up with? I can think of a couple that don't, from my point of view.

[up]If you're referring to characterz among the Hucks with potential to become interesting characters on their own aside of being serial killer then the most easiest answer is Arnage. While most of the talk among them has been done by Fortis and Cypha most of it is only gloating and exposition. Arnage and Stella so far are the only one openly vocals about her toughts and believes thus feeling more "real" than their cackling companions(in Stella's case, while it's sounds like Evil Gloating her childish behavior makes note that all of her menaces and talk about slaughter their enemies aren't taunting techniques but her real toughts, thus cementing her status as Creepy Child). A not so sympathetic example could be Curren, while most of her introduction is shameless taunting, it's also reveals how serious she can be about her objetives(centered enough to priorize valuable new information over Tohma's capture) thus proving to be a cunning person open to developement. And of corse there's Veyron who debut by taunting Tohma is very suspicious ways, givng a somewhat different opinion on their powers than Fortis and Cypha(sounds a bit more pessimistic and less enjoying than the aformentioned two) and standing out for not using a borrowed Devider and fighting without signs of a Reactor, thus surroinding his traits and backstory in mistery.

So yeah those four are the ones i pick for more complete characters among the Huckebein, i would like to say Deville(my currently favourite Huckebein) can be developed but he appears to be the silent badass type, so i don't expect much developement from him aside from giving some scares to the heroes and kicking some ass just to end curbstompped to show how a heroe upgrade/new eviler villain is more amazing/threatening than him.(The guy is asking for a beating, just look at him, it's like if he's wearing a note on his back that says "Worf Me").

Wow, you've been obsessed with 1 one chapter for an entire year.

I'm not sure if that's impressive or sad.

Aside from that, one loss =/= worfing.

I dunno why people keep saying Signum got worfed: Cypha's definitely the one who got the raw end of the deal there, getting beaten up and humiliated in her first fight.

That's why i still view her as a second category villain. Sure, she won by curbstomp but just after getting her butt handed to her ...twice. First impressions are hard to erase(even harder if other villains on the same story just happen to be ten times more badass than you xD).

Ah... it never ceases to amaze me how Vivid is actually letting former minor characters like Zaffy get decent screentime this time around.

I rather like how the Vivid artist does fight scenes. Vivio's boot to the head looked painful.

By the way, how does the elimination matches in the pre-preliminaries go? According to Nove, even if Einhart and Corona were to face off, they'd both still be able to advance to the main tournament, so it's not single elimination...

Agreed on that. My preference for fight scenes in the manga series goes Strikers/Movie (done by the same artist, I believe) > Vivid > Force. Nanoha vs Signum was just fantastic, and I found Nanoha vs Fate to remain fresh even though this was already the third version we've seen. Really looking forward to the A's Movie manga.

I'm starting to get a suspicion that the fights are being horribly set up. Based on Miura's face off against the swordswoman in the spoiler (and the comment about Einhart and Corona), it would seem that the fights are much less about individual skill and strategy and more about having the already established characters win no matter what.

Don't get me wrong, it's good to have the protagonist win a seemingly hopeless fight, but not if it is done for the sole purpose of seeing them fight another person later on (nor winning all the time when hopelessly outmached just because they are the protagonists).

Now about the elimination matches, it might be that there's only one person from each group to go further, but it might also be that there is a greater limit. Still, the comment does look rather strange.

Just fantasizing a little:

How cool will be if Precia Testarossa manage to return and forms an evil alliance with Jail Scaglietti, his remaining loyal cyborgs, an evil young clone of Gil Graham, their own evil version of the Tome of the Night Sky(courtesy of Al-Hazardian science discovered by Precia) and the Huckebein and then they all storm over the TSAB?

Rather boring, imo.

For once, a could see Scaglietti and Precia teaming up, but Huckebein wouldn't care so any teaming out would be Out of Character so that the point of teaming up with the others would just be adding their combat power (which could be done by Jail and precia macking Bastard Clones from the Dark Side of Hell and mixing in huckebein dna, just as easily), same goes for the evil clone thing. (why would they do that? Just to screw with Hayates head? Will just end in Graf Eisen to the Clones Head). It would probably end in Scaglietti backstabbing Huckebein or something.

Also the TSAB might be damaged in the initial attack, but remember the Godzilla Threshold, as soon as its crossed they might just call in EVERY Mage above Rank S they have (having probably a lot more than in Riot Force 6) from current assignments on a emergency protocol, add to that EVERY Ship they have which is equipped with the Arc-En-Ciel and start throwing so much pure firepower their way that not Cyphia would have a Oh, Crap! Moment which would make Quattros a mouse fart in comparision.

TSAB is not lacking in brute force, they just decide not to use it to prevent collateral damage. Make them cross the Godzilla Threshold and they may just decide that sacrificing Mid-Childa may be better than letting them run amok through the universe.

Nice Fireworks, but not much story...

They can hide inside the Esquad Huckebein(aka. The Huckship) or reverse engineering the technology, Arc-en-Ciel means nothing against said ship and at least the top Hucks can take on Over S mages with ease. Scaglietti and Precia are no small fries either(remember, interdimensional multi-target thunderbolts that can cripple entire battleships), Gil Graham is a very intelligent guy and also a pretty high ranker officer with familiars able to top the Wolkenritter at their prime one can just wonder how powerfull and skilled the man was at his golden years, the copy of the tome of the Night Sky can be modified to be used for pretty nasty things(the things Hayate wants to avoid i guess) and having acces to Curren's Silver Bible will make them all of them into a pretty spectacular Legion of Doom.

But yeah, there isn't any realistical reason for said alliance to be formed and it will be probably fall appart just by internal fights and discord. Still it sounds funny and a good scenary for some spectacular fireworks xD.

Also wonder how will be an encounter between Quattro and Cypha xD. Such a pair of trolls xD.
