Just post whatever comes to mind.
Please refrain from excess venting in this thread. Talking about negative emotions is fine but it's best not to dwell on them for too long. TV Tropes is not suited to deal with mental health situations.
If Oscar Wilde had lived in our time, he would be a /b/tard.
Actually, scratch that. He does, and goes by Jethro Q Walrustitty.

You know, if there's one person I didn't expect to show up in my nightmares, it's Jeff Sessions.
It's one thing to make a spectacle. It's another to make a difference.Very interesting theory about The Simpsons and it's confusing canon.
I'm watching another classic film thanks to Netflix,American Graffiti.
New theme music also a boxI just tasted cashews for the first time. They taste like those little bread stick cheese dunker pack things I used to have as a kid.
Weird. Good, but weird.

So, Xenoblade Chronicles 2 is out. It's looks interesting but the combat is a little slow-paced for me. I've also noticed everyone complaining about how anime it is compared to the first one. This really doesn't bother me since I've watched anime for years so I'm used to the clichés and everything else.
I've been wondering whether it's rude to participate in the avatar-related Forum Games (such as "Pick two avatars from the above gallery you'd like to see fight each other") when I have such a small gallery - it was only five pictures till I added a few more last night and today, and most tropers over there have multiple pages of avatars. I considered saying things such as, "If my gallery doesn't have any choices that fit the thread, feel free to choose one from the poster above me," but then that could be rude to the poster above me by making them respond twice when they might not want to!
Same for games that rely on tropers' knowledge of each other (like "Press the above poster's Berserk Button") - I'm older here than a lot, but haven't been as active, so if I post in those threads I might be sort of inconveniencing people who want to post but don't know me.
It's not. (I hope.) I did the same thing with the gallery games until I started slowly expanding it, and even now its a drop compared to many others...
As for games relying on knowledge of others, I think guessing that is part of the game.
I worry about that so much. I'm so single-minded about my interests that the vast majority of my avatars are actually the same guy in different points of the series he's from.
Not to mention that no one on there really seems to know anything about the character and the show and it makes me worry I'm really bothering people.
Thankfully I've added a few more avatars, but most of them are still related to that series.
Don't worry, if people don't really get mad at me for it then they shouldn't get upset with you.
Practically over 90% of my avatars are from Gundam, so don't feel bad.
Spelunking through a Halo Ring is something else...I went to type in "Powerpoint" on my computer's search bar, and I started typing "Pokemon" instead.

He may be a giant, nightmarish brute, but like all villains in this series,he sure can sing. When it comes forum games that depend on people knowing each other, you can get by from having some info about yourself on your troper page that people can use. I use troper pages for people I don't know very well
You can't change the volume of the voice in your head.
Apparently this version of Hyde looks like a Jojo's character. According to people who have seen that anime and I guess understand it.The general "reading voice" I use in my head, to imagine things I'm reading, sounds nothing like me. Including when it's representing what I'm typing myself.
Meanwhile, I'm thinking of starting to watch Mobile Suit Zeta Gundam.
Spelunking through a Halo Ring is something else...You know, it got me thinkin': shouldn't someone make a Let's Play page for my You Tube Channel, SeriouslyMike? Aside from the obvious Sir Swears-a-Lot (and, of course, Standard Snippet in the Destiny 2 PVP videos), I guess there are some tropes in my videos...
(and Polish tropers will most probably catch a couple more hidden in the news tickers and the occasional Woolseyism)
"what the complete, unabridged, 4k ultra HD fuck with bonus features" - Mark Von LewisIs all of existence just movement?
I ask because my sister, while preparing her husband's birthday party, said to me "Isn't it funny how getting ready is just moving stuff around? Even showering you just move water over yourself to move dirt off of you."
I can be... anxious about such stupid things, and started applying this to everything, hence my question. Which I don't think makes sense anyway and the answer's probably just yes.
Everything is just energy reacting and acting upon another. Existing, even if it's just a rock sitting still someplace, was created from energy.
...Anyways, existential talk aside, I should be writing a film history paper but I'm still mad that a nap I was taking was interrupted by my roommate talking super loud on the phone. Oh well, at least she's moving out to another college.
Also no, it's not a cop in my icon. It's a gay man wearing leather and S&M gear. He's also a metal vocalist.
Life is hard, that's why no one survives.Black Rock Shooter (the 2011 TV anime) is incredibly extra.
it's either real or it's a dream there's nothing that is in betweenI had a trope-themed random thought recently. In my opinion, it kind of feels like both real and fictional people have used the title "Angel of Death" so many times, it lost the coolness it once enjoyed.
I smell magic in the air. Or maybe barbecue.Been playing a little Puyo Puyo Tetris. It's good fun, but it has a mechanic from more recent Tetris titles I despise: The T-Spin.
It's like, Tetris is famous for being one of the most intuitive games of all time and is hugely successful because of it. Why oh why would you not only add in a mechanic that most people would never guess to do on their own, but also give greater rewards for using itnote than the mechanics that are actually easy to understand?

I hope no one takes this the wrong way, because I don't really mean it negatively, but the few times I've come to visit here since returning from my long absence I feel like the place is sort of....frozen in time a little bit?
It's probably just my perception as a non-regular. But this forum isn't significantly different than it was when I joined, and that was in 2009, almost a decade ago. The proper names have changed—I recognize almost none of the new mods, or really, any of the new regulars in general—and the forum software seems to have received a pretty major upgrade at some point (the avatar uploader used to be sooooooooooo picky about what you could and couldn't use, I think it also had to be a .jpeg, which was weird), and I'm not 100% sure what these badge whoosits are about, but the fundamental structure is identical, down to the idiosyncratic formatting.
It's just interesting is all, especially given how much seemingly every other website is in such a hurry to change to keep up with whatever UI ideal they're chasing this week.
If I'm going to hang around again I should probably make a new troper page ainnit. Unless people don't do that anymore really? I guess I wouldn't know.
it's either real or it's a dream there's nothing that is in betweenI guess TV Tropes isn't as scurred of following the big new fad in web design due to it not really having any corporate overlords.
Welcome back! I'm glad you don't seem to mind the site's sameness. People still make troper pages, but you can't vandalize them anymore, so they create Troper Walls to get around that.
ScotieRw and Bonsai Forest, the voice in my head usually sounds like my own, and very quiet, when I'm just doing the internal monologue thing.
When I'm being hard on myself, though, it turns into the voice of the scariest boss I've ever worked for. "MINK! WASH THOSE DISHES AND GET THOSE COUPONS CLIPPED! QUIT ACTING LIKE A FUCKIN' ROOKIE!"

What's WFAN gonna do in the afternoons once Mike Francesca leaves in two weeks?
