"(did they do Digimon too? Because I also watched that)"
If Anime is Serious Business, I want all anime yes all anime to be heavily processed upon export.
Yes, upon export, it doesn't matter where it goes it just needs to be altered to the point that it looks like something else.
If that has Unfortunate Implications, I am willing it extend it to all exchanges of animation. All seven continents including Antarctica.
Ignoring the Insane Troll Logic above (No offense, but you even admitted it Worlder), my dislike of 4Kids mainly comes from them taking two of my favorite series and making them completely unpopular to anyone anyone over the age of 10.
You are not alone, and you are not strange. You are you, and everyone has damage. Be the better person. My dislike of them comes from their crappy choice in voice actors.
^ That too.
You are not alone, and you are not strange. You are you, and everyone has damage. Be the better person.Hey, I am serious about the V As though.
What scale of measurement is there to judge their aptitude against those in the same position?
But if you still think that the V As are still terrible, consider me to have lowered my standards so much that I can take in just about anything you proclaim is trash.

I can enjoy what you enjoy and more.
I don't hate 4kids. I find Americanitis extremely annoying and quite disturbing, but hate is far too strong a word. It's only anime, after all.
Welcome To TV Tropes | How To Write An Example | Text-Formatting Rules | List Of Shows That Need Summary | TV Tropes Forum | Know The StaffWell when it comes to the VAs Mike Pollock (voice of Eggman) was the only one that was any good. I heard somewhere that he was the only one that even took a voice acting class so that might explain why he doesn't suck.

You are not alone, and you are not strange. You are you, and everyone has damage. Be the better person. If they didn't qualify, they wouldn't be hired would they?
People who aren't qualified get hired often.
Hay, Michael Brown... *
Ugh, what makes you think they are unqualified?
I think they qualify enough for me.
Why don't you lower your standards once in a while? I've lowered my anime expectations dramatically and permanently.
YMMV. Freedom of taste, man.
In fact, my standards are in the negative numbers.
Remember how everything must be "heavily processed" before I will be willing to watch it. It must be unfaithfully adapted, divide fandoms, and stain it forever.
Consider me a Bizarro anime fan.
Are you trolling right now, as you admitted already? Because it sounds like it.
It is almost indistinguishable.
I never had any hate toward 4Kids really (Well, mabye with exeption of One Piece). The decent shows (Like Teenage Mutant Ninja Turtles) had their charm and even their terrible shows/dubs (Yes even THAT one) have their Narm Charm (In the "So Bad, It's Good" kinda way). I didn't LIKE the company, but I certianly didn't detest it like the rest of the Fan Dumb. The unessesary hate towards 4Kids is just like the unessesary VA hate towards the PUSA dub of the every-so-holy original 4Kids Pokemon V As (Oh the Irony).
Still, I knew eventually that thier shit will hit the fan and splatter everywhere.

I'm having to learn to pay the priceIt's best to ignore Worlder. Talking with him is like punching water.
So right, here is what bugs me, people who watched the One Piece subs pissed and moaned about the One Piece dub. Wouldn't it have just been easier to go back to watching the fansubs they like instead of creating a shitstorm over a silly cartoon?
Oh, they did that too. But they would have much preferred it to get a "proper" treatment, especially since it was the only way most people would see it. Which would you rather exist, even if you wouldn't personally partake, a good adaptation of a story you love, or a crappy one?
And, you know, maybe some of them actually like dubs and would've watched one that was actually good?
I guess it is.It was good!
It was very good.
Good enough for me. Goodee enuff for mee!
You hear that! They did a great dub!
Surpassed my
What Nyktos said. Personally I avoid subs when possible but the dub honestly had me sticking to just the manga.

You are not alone, and you are not strange. You are you, and everyone has damage. Be the better person.Alright, I don't exactly like 4Kids either, but it's not THAT bad.
To be honest, it made anime a little more... mainstream and acceptable?
Heck, if it wasn't for 4K, I probably wouldn't have heard of anime until high school.
Yeah, it brings in some "OMGNARUTO!" kids, but it widened the community.
[/completeignorantasspull]
I am become Death, Destroyer of Miniputts.Shay Guy has double plus Solar Energy!
This, exactly. When I like an anime, I like to try and introduce more people to it. But suppose that the anime I like is the Japanese version, there is no subtitled version (fan or otherwise) and the only really accessible version in the language my friends understand is a shitty dub? Yeah. they're gonna watch it and be like "What's the big deal?" and I'll have to explain how much they changed it.
Here's an experiment: Take a movie you really like, but that your best friend has never seen. Make a date to watch it... but watch it muted, forcing yourself into a position where you have to explain everything that's going on. Now see how much your friend likes it. That's the position I found myself in when trying to convince people that some shows 4Kids butchered were actually pretty damn awesome.
That being said, if their dub of Sonic X had used the name "Dr. Robotnik" instead of "Eggman" then it would automatically have been superior. Robotnik forever!
EDIT: In response to the guy who said 4Kids made anime more popular, well in all honesty thats the effect I described taken Up To Eleven. They made anime more popular but also popularized a lot of negative misconceptions about the medium, which leads to a large scale "what's the big deal?" effect and is a significant source of the Hype Backlash.
