Here are a couple of tropes I like and I would like to see more often. I think they might be a nice breath of fresh air after we’ve been seeing their opposites so often in fiction. ;)

  • Happily Married couples
  • I don’t know if there’s a specific trope for it, but I would like to see more good empires

Two Girls and a Guy. Doesn't have to involve romance at all, just two girls and a boy having fun adventures.

If you play with fire, you're gonna get burned.

Platonic Life-Partners, at least to give off the message that yes, straight/bi/pan men and women can be just friends and there's nothing wrong with that.

Good All Along — it's an interesting way to show a character wasn't as previously expected. Don't get me wrong, I love a good use of Evil All Along as well, but I typically like it better when the supposedly evil character ends up actually being on your side.

It's also an interesting way of having a character turn out to be on the good side without necessarily having the character do a Heel–Face Turn.

Cold turkey's getting stale. Tonight I'm eating crow.

Darker and Edgier when applied to video game and movie sequels. I feel like a lot of successive video games and movie installments have been getting Lighter and Softer over the years and they're not as scary anymore. By that same token, Sequel Difficulty Spike for more intense video game sequels.

Also, I'd like to see more Freaky Electronic Music soundtracks and just a lot more movies and video games with completely Industrial soundtracks and often with a lot of Hell Is That Noise elements.

Also also, more Black-and-Gray Morality works, where the good guys aren't necessarily Ideal Hero type material but they're fighting against completely evil villains.

I would like to see more Benevolent Boss villains, given Bad Boss villains are more dominant.

Not sure if it's a trope persay (Guile Hero maybe?), but I want to see more examples of heroes winning in creative and clever ways. I get easily bored of fight scenes and the like, and prefer to see unique uses of abilities or resources to win.

  • Shameless Fanservice Girl, and maybe Innocent Fanservice Girl depending on how it's used. I consider myself a nudist, I dislike nudity taboos, I want to see more casual nudity. A little less "Character becomes naked for contrived reasons and constantly says how embarrassed they are." I'm a bit let down by the examples on at least the former page, off of memory there's a lot of borderline-shoehorns rather than actual examples, the sort of "X character's outfit is kind of revealing and they're flirty" (for Shameless) or "X's character's outfit is kind of revealing and they don't comment on it" (for Innocent). I just want a setting that frankly doesn't really care about nudity either way where these types of characters have nobody bat an eye at them. I also do not like it when a character "develops out of" being an SFG or IFG and gets a sense of modesty; if anything, I'd like to see someone start as an Innocent Fanservice Girl and become a Shameless Fanservice Girl, like going "modesty? Shame over my body? ...That sounds dumb, I'm just gonna stay naked, you guys are weird."
  • Border Patrol and Stalked by the Bell because I like it when things like boundaries and time limits have story-related mechanics tied to them instead of invisible walls or just instantly dying when the timer hits zero. Plus it's fun to try to mess around with that sort of thing and see how far you can avoid the edge-of-map/end-of-time instakiller.
  • Surprisingly Creepy Moment. I don't really watch horror too much but I do like "scary moments" in non-horror works some times, so it is neat when something that otherwise isn't scary dips in to that for a bit. (Combined with Stalked by the Bell, it shouldn't be surprising that I'm a fan of the Waterwraith.)
  • Easter Eggs. I know there's already plenty as-is but I'd like to see more. Gimme more video games especially (it's neat in other media too but a medium where I can actually explore around and find stuff... or, more likely, I'll miss it and then read upon it on a wiki or something) with hidden things.
  • I'm very fond of Colour-Coded for Your Convenience. Particularly I'd like to see more works branch off on to, say, tertiary colors and the like, for example what Homestuck does. Give chartreuse, spring green, azure, and rose some love too. Homestuck actually gave me the idea to use more than just the "common" colors a lot of color groups use (red, orange, yellow, green, blue, purple, cyan, magenta/pink, brown, black, gray, and white; actually I rarely use brown aside from, like, it just being "dark orange" and I use dark shades of the other hues) and as a result make teams of over twelve people.
  • Affably Evil. While I do like villains who are just assholes on occasion, I like ones that have some degree of acting like regular people, not being completely evil at all times, etc. I do have a few Card Carrying Villains in what I write, but I think my Affably Evil villains outnumber them overall by a good amount.
  • Relatedly The Good, the Bad, and the Evil. I like multi-sided conflicts and having clean-cut heroes to root for, definite villains to hate, and morally gray characters to complicate things is probably my favorite way to go about this. Removing the "Good" and having Black-and-Gray Morality is also interesting so long as the lightest shade/main character(s) don't just feel like glorifying/downplaying asshole behavior. For similar reasons, I also like Evil Versus Evil and a Big Bad Ensemble; I prefer to not have every villainous character all be traced back to the same Big Bad. Oh, and on that note, Lone Wolf Bosses are neat too. Fleshing out the world by having some enemies that aren't connected to the Big Bad.
