Most of the anime section only has suffering for the main character and not the entire cast as well, primarily the Harem Genre entries. Those strike me as a different trope.
I don’t watch those, but if the majority of the male characters were always suffering abuse in one show, it qualifies.

I don't think the laconic correctly defines the trope (many laconics don't). It shouldn't be a requirement that multiple characters suffer.
If a sadist show were to require only the main characters suffering, I think it should still be a requirement for (almost) nothing to ever work out for the main characters.
People just use this trope to complain about shows, and it's annoying. If nothing is done, we should just remove non-examples and skim out the misuse and the complaining.

This trope tend to attract not only misuse, but complaining.
I looked at the "laconic" section, and the trope seems to be defined as "A TV show, movie, or other work in which every character is The Chew Toy."
A majority of the shows listed aren't even examples. People like to use this trope to describe shows where people are simply unpleasant to the protagonists, despite the protagonists having happy endings half of the time.
