I like him. Don't like his friend Matt or the other guys he has with him as much, though.
Watch SymphogearI like him and his buddies, just not enough to keep up with all his content. I was mostly in it for Injustice and Tekken.
Love the dood, even if his bias against anime fighters that aren't Guilty Gear or Dragonball FighterZ can be aggravating.
Kenny and Steve are okay, it's just Simmons that's a real douche that singlehandedly brings the enjoyment of anime saturdays down.
i don't really mind Simmons all that much, but that's probably because i can relate to his whining a lot of the time.
someone in my DFO guild mentioned that Mv C Infinite is coming out soon... can't wait to see the "Max is a fucking Crapcom shill" comments in full force on every website i frequent in the coming days.
it's a damn shame he doesn't play Guilty Gear Xrd all that much except for the obligatory Week Of episodes, since iirc the GGX 2 series was something he played a lot back in the day.

weaponizing Dungeon Fighter Online elitism since 2018I follow his Twitch streams and You Tube channel and try to tune into his streams at least once a week. More often than not, it manages to be quite entertaining.
The first time I saw one of his videos wasn't even one of his fighting game videos. It was his reaction to Cloud's reveal in Smash.
That said, one of my favorite videos is the one where he beats a lag switcher.
I was introduced to Max by a friend who wanted me to get into MVC 3. I did... Ultimately.
And as of now his is the only FGC channel I watch and I love his streams of other games. I think my favourite stream of his is when he had to suffer through MK Mythologies Sub-Zero.
one of the things that make me lose faith in humanity routinely is how often the internet makes black-or-white "debates" even more black-or-white. Max's iffy-ness on Infinite being a prime example (to the point where he had to put out a Real Talk episode about it).
i really hope that wasn't a pun on UMVC 3's title
weaponizing Dungeon Fighter Online elitism since 2018anyone besides me hoping for a reboot of Assist Me to go with Marvel vs. Capcom: Infinite?
it's crazy how much effort the Yo Videogames crew puts into that project. hell, i don't even watch it for the tutorials half the time, the skits in between the tutorials are the best part.

weaponizing Dungeon Fighter Online elitism since 2018Wasn't a big part of Assist Me shenanigans with 'DOOM!! and Max / the other characters.
I guess he could do a thing like Awkward Zombie, where the Smash Bros version of Roy was a central-ish character and so the artist made a joke/story out of the fact that he was canned (initially) from Brawl and 4 but refused to leave.

"The difference between reality and fiction is that fiction has to make sense." - Tom Clancy, paraphrasing Mark Twain.if Assist Me actually does come back, i have no doubt Max will have Doom return in some capacity, along with Wesker, even if neither of them are likely to make it into Mv C:I even as DLC. their dynamic with Max's character is too good, and the actors that play them are close friends of Max.
weaponizing Dungeon Fighter Online elitism since 2018Well, there was this video from back in June.
oh lord, i forgot Batman was a thing in Assist Me lol. i'll have to watch that one eventually, the banter between Batman and Doom was too funny in the last video Batman showed up in.

weaponizing Dungeon Fighter Online elitism since 2018i don't know how the hell i missed this by two months, but here's a preview for the Marvel vs. Capcom: Infinite season of Assist Me. (the preview starts at 2:15.)
Doom: Whaddya mean Doom isn't marketable!?
weaponizing Dungeon Fighter Online elitism since 2018I primarily know about Max because of his Boss Rage videos. Good stuff.
Max discusses the topic of fighting game stories, and tackles the question of their necessity.
Max's Real Talk stuff is the kind of thing that keeps me subscribed to You Tube channels for a long time. he's real down to earth and analytical about stuff he's really passionate about.
weaponizing Dungeon Fighter Online elitism since 2018I don't think hes completely right about everything though, or at least doesn't express himself in clearest way sometimes? Or maybe I'm just annoyed by somethings I notice to be common with him and fighting game community in general
he's on the extremely nice side of the FGC though. if the above video was done by someone more "typical" of the FGC, the video would've been like 5 seconds long going "FUCK NO STORY IS FOR CASUALS"
and he plays pretty much everything at a "hardcore casual" level (can do reasonably well but not tournament level play) so his opinion's the one i'm most inclined to believe. honestly the only thing i tune him out on is when he starts gushing about anything Capcom (pretty much the only thing he has in common with "typical" FGC types), and even then he's really iffy about Mv CI.
weaponizing Dungeon Fighter Online elitism since 2018It's equal parts impressive and funny watching Max body the rest of the Yo Videogames crew when playing MvCI. I think he went on a 10-game streak before he finally lost.
Reminder to provide full context for links. Follow the rules, folks.
if you play fighting games, you may have heard of Maximilian Christiansen.
honestly surprised there hasn't been a topic for him specifically yet (believe me, i've looked), considering one can probably scour threads for a specific fighting game and find at least a couple of videos from him. pretty damn competent at every fighting game he touches, but not to the point of destroying tournaments.
also pretty damn funny too, regardless of what type of games you're into.
