Things only gamers can relate to

For me it's making a noise when making a hard jump in an action or platform game, especially when it's over a pit, and seeing little blocks every time I close my eyes after too many block-related games in one sitting.

And needing a save point before you can quit.

Definitely the save point thing. I have no idea how many times I've wanted to stop but couldn't until I found a save point, but I know it's too many.

An NPC is being a dick to you in a game with quicksaves? Save, murder them, then reload the save, content with the fact that they're dead in a different timeline.

Got shot inexplicably behind a wall, even though you know for 100% certain you got behind cover in time? Got dropped by LESS than the required amount of bullets to kill a typical character? Death the very instant you turn a corner and see an enemy who is aware of your presence?

The Answer? Internet latency, especially if you live in areas where the connection is subpar. Probably also accounts for more than half of all of the "OMG HAX" complaints you'll see online.

Raiding an massive dungeon in an RPG or playing Lo L with the expectation that you have the next hour to yourself...And then getting assigned an random chore in the middle of an fight.

Buying/downloading a new game and finding a new purpose in your gamer life.

Hoping your day of school or work finishes as soon as possible so you can get home and start playing the game you just got.

Having hundreds of games but nothing to play.

Finishing your games then contemplating on what to do with your life.

Getting called every racial epithet, every homophobic slur, and being accused of having several mental disorders all in the same day.

Being flamed for any combination of retreating, sniping, or being the sole survivor.

Being so used to the arrow keys that you struggle with WASD controls. Even worse when you're stuck with WASD controls. Thanks a lot, Grand Theft Auto V...

Real life examples of the Tetris Effect in action: After playing a lot of Katamari Damacy, I found myself "sizing up" objects in real life and wondering if I would be able to roll them up in a katamari. Also, in Batman: Arkham City, there's a sidequest involving destroying every security camera in the city with a batarang - sure enough while I was actively playing it, I started noticing real life security cams more often and feeling as though I needed to aim a batarang at them. Finally, my Player Tic with any Grand Theft Auto game from Grand Theft Auto III onward is walking on top of parked cars, and sure enough, for a while when I saw a row of parked cars in real life I started almost wanting to do the same thing.

Being The Medic in any online game is always hard. Most if not all folks eventually get bitter due to dealing with horrible or ignorant players overtime.

is an part of the reason why I dislike being the game's take of an healer. That and the fact that I prefer taking ground (no matter where it is) over holding it.

Any game I play a medic/healer-    STOP RUNNING AWAY FROM ME IM TRYING TO SAVE YOUR ASS GODDAMNIT   

Saving your game, then saving it again to make sure you really saved.

Hitting the quicksave key just as an enemy fires the shot that kills you.

Having to explain to someone that an online match can't be paused...

The times when you'll have to leave for work/school in half an hour, and you're thinking "just one more match/raid/chapter/whatever you have", and the next time you look at the clock 40 minutes have passed.

Praying to the RNG for blessings.

After playing a Mario-style platformer, having anxiety dreams that just repetitively cycle through the levels.

Making decisions as if there's a Dialogue Tree in front of you.
