We should come to an agreed clarified description, and update the page.
My observations
The current description causes confusion, frustration, and misuse.
As a standalone trope: In order to properly document modern incarnations of The Chick it would be best to clarify what the core of The Chick is, and how it can be expressed.
If we believe that The Chick only works in the strict terms in which it is currently defined, then we need a new similar trope that for the more relevant idea (FMB became strict, but we launched The Team for a broader, often more relevant, idea).
As part of an ensemble: The other FMB tropes are now general patterns/umbrella archetypes that several more specific tropes can fill the quota for (explained more below). It would be good to define what can go under the umbrella of The Chick in terms of filling a niche on a team.
Some discussions have gone as far as to say that Leia from Star Wars, the trope image, is not a true example of the trope since there are aspects of her character that they feel contradict the description.
Again this is about clarification, not redefinition. I would not advocate for anything in a new description that fundamentally changes the trope. Just clarification of the core, and an outlining of different ways the core is usually expressed.
I.E., the big guy is strong and has the most physical presence. But it still counts if he's smart, dumb, loud, funny, fast, slow, uncontrollable, aggressive, or reserved. The Big Guy can even be small. The Big Guy doesn't even have to be the strongest since they might get hit by The Worf Effect, and then The Leader gets a new Super Mode. But they have to fill the niche in the group of being the physical guy.
We should clarify what the core niche of The Chick is, identify what patterns usually indicate that the niche is in play, and how different series have expressed that core both in older works and in works released after the page was locked.
Issues have been raised about the tropes description of The Chick in the discussion page and the FMB cleanup page.
To be as diplomatic as possible, we should decide on a basic course of action first.
