Yes, this does sound like a good idea. Sorry for a very late response.
I'll put up the links.
- Franchise.Jojos Bizarre Adventure
- Manga.Jojos Bizarre Adventure Phantom Blood
- Manga.Jojos Bizarre Adventure Battle Tendency
- Manga.Jojos Bizarre Adventure Stardust Crusaders
- Manga.Jojos Bizarre Adventure Diamond Is Unbreakable
- Manga.Jojos Bizarre Adventure Vento Aureo
- Manga.Jojos Bizarre Adventure Stone Ocean
- Manga.Jojos Bizarre Adventure Steel Ball Run
- Manga.Jojos Bizarre Adventure Jojolion
Here are some sandboxes (a few of which have already been started by others) that we can draft with before we launch the pages:
- Sandbox.Franchise Jojos Bizarre Adventure
- Sandbox.Jojos Bizarre Adventure Phantom Blood
- Sandbox.Jojos Bizarre Adventure Battle Tendency
- Sandbox.Jojos Bizarre Adventure Stardust Crusaders
- Sandbox.Jojos Bizarre Adventure Diamond Is Unbreakable
- Sandbox.Jojos Bizarre Adventure Vento Aureo
- Sandbox.Jojos Bizarre Adventure Stone Ocean
- Sandbox.Jojos Bizarre Adventure Steel Ball Run
- Sandbox.Jojos Bizarre Adventure Jojolion
The "short titles" (Manga.Phantom Blood, etc.) can redirect to the long titles just in case something gets titled the same (not that I think that will happen...).

Please help out our The History Of Video Games page.I created redirects for the first 3 parts and added more tropes to the phantom blood page.
The world will look up and shout "Save us", and I'll look down and whisper "Too bad, Waluigi Time" Vote Loki 2016Thanks, guys. I'll help eventually too.
The sad, REAL American dichotomyAdded links to sandbox drafts in the second post, and I made descriptions for Parts 4 and 5.
Please help out our The History Of Video Games page.Added a partly complete reworking of the main page for the franchise sandbox.
Please help out our The History Of Video Games page.I added a little bit to the SBR entry.
I changed the Franchise page to accomodate that.
Alright! Only two more parts and this will be ready to let Wiki Magic take its course.
Please help out our The History Of Video Games page.Currently, Diamond Is Unbreakable, Vento Aureo, Stone Ocean and JoJolion have descriptions but no tropes. Can anyone add just a few tropes to them?
Please help out our The History Of Video Games page.Okay, I cherry-picked a few tropes from the main page for those pages and I've launched all of them. I think we can let Wiki Magic take its course from here on out, though it would be a good idea to link to each specific part.
I also started an Image Pickin' thread to select an image that can better represent the franchise.
Please help out our The History Of Video Games page.So... someone's been going around and undoing most of the work you guys did, redirecting everything from the Franchise namespace back to the Manga one. I wasn't too sure what to do about it, so I thought I should just come here and tell you.
Well that's lame.
Suggestion: If they aren't already done, use the tool for comments that only show up in the edit page to remind people of what we're doing here.
Sorry I can't be more helpful. Real life has been rough.
The sad, REAL American dichotomyI've reverted the changes and linked back to this thread. I have to wait a while to revert the Manga. page to a redirect, because it's still saying the Franchise. page is one, and won't save the change.
It will not allow me to change JoJo's Bizarre Adventure back to a redirect to the Franchise page. It keeps giving me this error message:
"Sorry, can't do that. This page is already a target of a redirect. Check the related pages tab for the list of pages that redirect here."
OK. What's happening is this: There are pages in three namespaces: Franchise, Manga and Anime. The page in the Anime namespace is redirected to the one in the Manga namespace. You can't make a page that is already the target of a redirect itself also into a redirect to another page.
If you want the other pages to redirect to Franchise, first you need to change the Anime page to redirect to Franchise, not to Manga. Then you'll be able to redirect Manga to Franchise as well.

...if you don’t love you’re dead, and if you do, they’ll kill you for it.Thank you! Problem solved!
Hello.
As discussed on the Creating Franchise Pages Wherever Appropriate thread, this manga series doesn't cross the threshold for warranting a Franchise/ page.
All the works with actual work pages are either in Manga/ or VideoGame/. Redirects don't count, thus it's missing the third work namespace to deserve being a Franchise.
Also, the initial move from Manga/ to Franchise/ was badly done, leaving behind a lot of index entries, as well as the discussion page and all the reviews.
Indeed. I've reverted the move and locked the Franchise page until at least 3 mediums have their pages here.
"For a successful technology, reality must take precedence over public relations, for Nature cannot be fooled." - Richard FeynmanI'm surprised it doesn't qualify as a franchise by your standards. Off the top of my head, there's
- Manga
- The main series, with 8 mostly independent arcs, running for almost 30 years
- A couple of one-shots and spinoffs
- Anime
- The current anime, airing for
2- 3(EDIT: four) years, currently on the 4th of the 8 arcs - Two OVA animated series based on the 3rd arc, released decades ago and still drawing in fans (including as my own introduction to the series about 10 years ago)
- The current anime, airing for
- Film
- One film based on the original arc
- Another film scheduled to be released next year, directed by Takashi Miike
- Literature
- At least 3 novels of varying canon status
- Video games
- at least 4 video games across the last 5 generations of consoles
- Real life
- A crossover with Gucci, and several separate fashion lines
- An exhibit at (and crossover with) The Louvre
- Dozens of memes and cross-cultural phenomena, ranging from the "jojo-off" contests, to a resurgence in popularity for the band Yes and their song "Roundabout", to memes inspired by the above, etc.

The sad, REAL American dichotomyPart of the point of this effort was to actually convey the different elements of the franchise as above. It seems kind of self-defeating to suggest a franchise can't have a franchise page until there's a somewhat unlinked or unorganized collection of works pages.
The sad, REAL American dichotomyThe pages need to exist for making a franchise arrangement. Since those works exist, but we don't have pages on them, it's not ready for the Franchise namespace.
...if you don’t love you’re dead, and if you do, they’ll kill you for it.Also, a Franchise page wouldn't replace the main Manga/ page, but would need to be created apart from it, gathering the infos and the tropes relative to the franchise as a whole, and leaving those that are manga-specific of the Manga/ page. It's more of a split of the main page than a mere namespace change.
We do have pages for the fighting games:
Which is still just two distinct namespaces on the Wiki.
If the anime would get a separate page, a Franchise hub would then become possible.
Compare to Franchise.Lupin III, which lists franchise-general tropes in the main page, manga-specific tropes in Manga.Lupin III, divides each anime series/movie as well as anime tropes in Anime.Lupin III, and includes VideoGame.Lupin III as well as Film.Lupin III.
We want as much work put into the Jojo pages as have already been done for the Lupin III pages.
Link to TRS threads in project mode here.
Wanted to get some opinions on this, and probably also some help. In my opinion JoJo's Bizarre Adventure needs an overhaul. For one thing, it's a full-on franchise, with the original manga, its adaptations, side-stories, novels, and video games. For another thing, each of the manga's 8 parts should probably have their own page, a la The Dresden Files. The characters page is already organized along these lines. This would also clear up issues with spoiler tagging in the trope lists, as major reveals are more easily sorted by where they fall.
Does this sound like a good idea to anyone else?
