This could've been avoided if you just...knew...how...to...
DOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOODGE!
Is this another part of pony friendship? Telling each other what you learned all the time?Technically, Martian Manhunter did dodge.
I'M MR. MEESEEKS, LOOK AT ME!But Piccolo didn't, and that got him hit by his own Hellzone Grenade at the end.
Fiat iustitia, et pereat mundus.Any ideas for future matches?

Cortex should take a 12-step plan off a 10-step pierYup, definitely playing out like a fighting game.
Fiat iustitia, et pereat mundus. There's no research and then there's just plain stupidity. I'm sorry, all those shotgun blasts and a fucking rocket and Snake just walks it off? Sometimes I wish whoever these animators are what have fight choreography that makes sense. I'm just tired of the bs reasoning given 'for this shit looks cool and I couldn't be bothered to make sense' instead of animating something that makes sense.
Eh...Snake is really tough. Tough enough to crawl through a microwave corridor. He is a clone of Big Boss, after all.
Also, lots and lots of rations equipped.

The numbers don't lie. That attack only does about 250,000 damage out of an average of 1,000,000 heath.

... I think it's pretty obvious by now that the OMM setting is decidedly working based on vidoe game rules of reality, specifically the typical fighting game kind where punches, fire, and bullets do the same amount of non-lethal, non-maiming damage unless the plot calls for it.
Fiat iustitia, et pereat mundus.New One-Minute Melee: Ibuki (Street Fighter) vs. Valentine (Skullgirls)
I can tell by the end screen thingie mabob that Alice Margatroid from Touhou will be one of the next fighters, but can anyone guess who'd be on the left?

Looks like Painwheel will be showing up in a future match.
Comments say it's Alice from Touhou vs Sasori from Naruto.
Is this another part of pony friendship? Telling each other what you learned all the time?I think he was referring to how Painwheel showed briefly at the end of the episode just like how ages ago Valentine showed up up the end of Peacock's episode. So Painwheel won't be next but she will eventually show up sometime in the future.
That contrast between pixel sprite vs animated sprite was weird.
Click Click Boom BoomNo, I was referring to the endslate after they show off the victor. They've been doing this lately where they have the silhouettes of two characters who are going to be in the next Melee. That being said, Sasori would make sense for an opponent, but I think Alice would take that fight because she had a giant Doll that could withstand anything Sasori throws at her. Though of course, no Research and all that.
I'd give it to Alice as well which leads me to this question: How salty would Naruto fans get if Alice won? Or would they be all "Where the hell did she come from?" and look into Touhou instead? I remember both of these things happening after the Sakuya vs Dio OMM.

I find it amusing how Fei Long and Liu Kang have 0 tropes attached to them on the character page. Goes to show how interested people are in those two.
Then again, Batman vs. Iron Man is the same...

A youkai magician and her army of knee-high puppets vs. a living puppet ninja and his 100 puppets. I anticipate that puppets will explode/be on fire. I'm torn between who I want to root for. Alice is a cute heroine, but Sasori is a cool villain.
Alice takes control of Sasori, due to him being a puppet.
Fei Long and Liu Kang... who are they again?

This episode was a good example of OMM's most common flaw, that fights don't really follow a logical progression. Chris can fill Snake with bullets and he'll be no worse for wear (which goes against the theme of the match-up: military badasses engaging in military warfare), and in this match, Ibuki and Valentine kept trading combos and finishing moves, but there's no good reason as to why Ibuki's last one worked where every other failed. It's like watching a fighting game where you can't see the health bars, and player skill is not a factor.
I'd rather see the show follow the example of Piccolo vs Manhunter or Sora vs Link more often. Those matches actually followed a coherent plotline, and were great for it.
Reason: Rule of Cool.

Fiat iustitia, et pereat mundus. It's about as close to a fighting game crossover as you can get.
I'M MR. MEESEEKS, LOOK AT ME!
What an amazing fight. I'll always enjoy the connectivity between episodes they have going here.
