Ok, per mod decision, the purpose of this thread is to scrutinize and clean up pages about web sites. Other Sites, especially, has become a catch-all for "my favorite web site that I feel like pimping."
THE FOUR NOBLE TRUTHS:
- A Web Site Is Not A Work For Troping Purposes: A website can contain tropable content, but the site itself does not automatically have a place with us simply by existing.
- A Web Site That Is Not Tropable Can Sometimes Be Repurposed: It may have a place as a Useful Notes page, or serve as an index if it hosts a lot of works that we do trope.
- User Antics Are Not Tropable: Trolls, mod decisions, forum drama. Such are Troper Tales and sources of spiritual decay. They must be purged, even from acceptable pages.
- User Created Content Is Potentially Tropable: But most of it has its own categories already, such as Game Mod, Fan Fiction, or Journal Roleplay.
Put pages you believe should be completely cut in the crowner at the bottom. If you believe a page can be saved or migrated, make a post with details. Other Sites contains the primary targets right now, but any page about a web site should be scrutinized

I sort of feel like the Tumblr page should be turned into an index of works hosted on Tumblr, as some certainly exist. Though I'm not sure how many have pages here.
The first few pages on Google brings up Total Drama Tumblr, Tumblr Rumblr, Tumblr Rumblr 2, The Oceans Of Tumblr, Altador Cup Tumblr Edition and Tumblr Company, and that is the first four pages.
"For a successful technology, reality must take precedence over public relations, for Nature cannot be fooled." - Richard FeynmanAs I said earlier, there's quite a few webcomics hosted on Tumblr.
I second the idea of turning into a index. But such an index should probably be in the Creator/ namespace, like other publishers.
Speaking words of fandom: let it squee, let it squee.Yeah, troping Tumblr as a work is different from troping works hosted on Tumblr. Seems like good index fuel.
Check out my fanfiction!Calling Six Billion Secrets.
Also, I'm down with making Tumblr into an index for works hosted on the site.
she/her | TRS needs your help! | Contributor of Trope ReportThat sounds like how YouTube is handled, which is a decent standard for these pages.
Calling Time Cube.
she/her | TRS needs your help! | Contributor of Trope ReportI'm all for cutting both Feminist Frequency and Sargon. They're both drama magnets that do nothing for us as a site.
Also, if I could, I'd chainsaw half the Youtube page down. I originally expanded that into the format you see now, but I hate the way it's been handled and the page looks unwieldy and disorganized.

You could definitely axe half the examples for "troping the userbase". And anyway it's not a work of media, is it now?
The voice of thy brother's blood crieth unto me from the ground"Half the examples"? There's only 6 of them. That would reduce it to little more than a stub anyway.
I don't think TPB contains anything tropable. It's a file sharing site, not a work in itself. While it does host a lot of works, they're not a cohesive collection, and the site isn't a creator of them.
Check out my fanfiction!Duck is right. Most of the relevant examples for the site could be ported over to TPBAFK, which is an actual film that documents the history and circumstances behind the site, as well as focuses the subject matter on the owners.

They'd almost have to be in order to keep that page around. It only has two examples as of now; isn't three the minimum number of examples a page can have (barring a sectionectomy, of course)?
Do social media websites like Facebook, Twitter, and Tumblr need a page?
I'm gonna miss the Fur Affinity page...
ᜇᜎᜈ᜔ᜇᜈ᜔|I DO COMMISSIONS|ᜇᜎᜈ᜔ᜇᜈ᜔What about StarDestroyer.net? There are examples of troping the userbase.
Just because there are userbase examples doesn't mean the page needs to be nuked right away. Always try to clean it up first.
I axed some examples (and Zero Context Examples). I might have missed some, though.

The voice of thy brother's blood crieth unto me from the groundI don't see the point of having VisuNavi here.
Know your enemy? Anyway, we can always lock it if it turns into a flame war.
I remember bringing that page up a couple of years ago. From what I remembered, it wasn't cut because we didn't want to look like the site couldn't take any criticism. That decision was made before this thread was made, so take it as you will.
I'd argue the page still contains drama importation and isn't that noteworthy in the grand scheme of things.

Doesn't contain tropable work.
Check out my fanfiction!I remember that discussion. At the time, I argued that the page should not be treated any different than others regardless of its content, and since we had no problems keeping lots of other pages about websites/blogs/vlogs/facebook pages that had nothing to do with fiction then FNTVT should stay too.
Since then, we've gotten rid of many of these pages, so I see no reason to keep it any longer. Cut for not containing a work or discussing a work.
Feminist Frequency directly deals with tropes, so it more than qualifies. Time Cube, even it definitely needs cleaning up, is plenty trope-able.
The vloggers are a little less so. Sargon's page looks fine, but Thunderf00t's is almost all Audience Reactions.
